Wait. You mean to tell me construction costs are up???

Damn, Ron. Really wish someone would have told you before you started. Ugh. Next thing you know they’re going to claim to be behind schedule.

We started designing February 2021 - it’s been 17 months and I have a foundation.

We built in 2021 and ended up $150k over in lumber and framing alone. Surprisingly close to budget on the rest of the house but damn, that stung.

Our builder told us last week that prices have dropped on his next house but the timeline is all f’d. He can’t even give an estimated timeline to his current customer.

Why buy a house at the interest rate of an Amex when you could just keep renting? (oh rents are up 40%)

Why worry about gas when you could just buy an electric car now? (disregard the rolling blackouts that are already happening- you shouldve had a solar panel charging station installed already)

Folks complaining about not being able to feed their infant children- you easily couldve stockpiled formula literally years ago- but you want to point fingers at someone else?

Things are effing fine.

Tuesday shitdohs:

- Echoing here but Maverick is awesome. Adding in that IMAX experience really unleashes it. For as wacky as Cruise is outside of movies, the guy knows how to make fun films.

- Navy Whites are fyre. Best service uniform.

- Looking to partner up with my buddy and do our own thing. Tired of the corporate world. Hate the corporate world. Corporations thrive off pulling people down to the level of the over-promoted.

- New hire coming from the parent company lives in Southern Cali. He can't even find a place to live right now and his apartment he's in now is going up 1k p/m. These skyrocketing rents are going to exacerbate everything else headed our way. Buckle up!

- DJ is was the most tested player on the Tour. Not surprised he got tired of that.

- Meltdown: Three Mile Island is solid. Never knew how close that got to being our Chernobyl. Also didn't realize how much that damaged the reputation of nuclear power. We could use more of that, not less.

- Finally found a use for these chin diapers I have. They do nothing against covid but are greatly beneficial to keeping dirt out of your head mowing the lawn.

- For as much as I believe social media will be our downfall, YT how-to videos are a godsend. Fix the mower right up and she's running better than ever.

- The mom jean fad is one of the worst fads in our history. Marcus wear parachute pants. Also noticed the young bucks at the golf club are all top button now.

I have a stable government job, don't plan on retiring for another 25 years, and have a car payment and mortgage locked under 4%.

So... umm.... When will everything crash and start getting cheaper again?

Stranger things season 4 has been great, lots of great storylines mixed with a clinic on how to handle awkward teenager screen time. No clue if the Duffer Brothers have done anything else but they’ve killed it with this series.

Halfway through Hustle which is very entertaining. The Bo Cruz real life player that is 6’10” and runs like a gazelle with amazing coordination that I’ve never heard of further validates getting future 5’8” red-headed Johnny on the travel AAU bball team starting at 6 years old stat. You never know, he might be able to practice himself into an NBA player!

My 10yo is starting a tourney tomorrow in ETown that’ll run through Sunday. It’s going to be 96 with about 105 heat index. That doesn’t even take into account the turf playing surface. Marcus Welby play in an air fryer.

Jurassic world dominion was kinda ****. The Dino scenes were fun but they only made up like 40% of the movie. Was pretty much a mission impossible movie that featured dinosaurs sometimes. Kids had a blast tho.

my wife has 2 teenage brothers living w us and we definitely take advantage of their eagerness to run errands. Late night ice cream run, out of body wash, etc etc etc.

New Kendrick was kinda meh at first and I didn’t really think It would be one that I’d revisit often, but I’ve found myself listening a few times a week on my long drives to baseball. Dude is just on a different level.

taking off the rest of the week to attend the aforementioned baseball tourney. Gonna enjoy some cold beers and hacienda tonight to prepare my body for the long hot week ahead. Fellas, it’s time for a snus.

Pool hit 87 today, I’m at work and the A/C went out. Of course 84 isn’t signed up with Bryant but it reminded me to schedule a service to not go through this at home.

Heat really doesn’t bother me. The only down side to it is the constant trickle of sweat just above my eyes. Standing still, being active, it really doesn’t matter.

Volare for wifeys bday tonight, then maverick after. Too hot for bourbon drinks so I may stay sober.

My yard is like carpet! Every other yard in the neighborhood is turning white. Plus I’m on a hill looking down at the bums, and I know they all hear my kids screaming and hollering in the pool. Sorry not sorry!

My fireworks go to guy is setting up Friday. I can’t wait for 4th of July!!!

And then they go cook at a restaurant once they get off from roofing. Mexicans are far tougher than us.

-Not a matter of toughness...a matter of necessity and drive...and most importantly not being hooked on fentanyl.

^said it before if it weren't for rednecks and mexicans...we'd be screwed. Consultants/middle managers/lawyers/salesfolk are bad at raising food/building shelter.

WTF is that idiot even trying to say? UKhomO just goes out of his way to be a tremendous douche.

Tourism in a lot of hot areas goes down in the hottest summer months. I live in one of the top tourist destinations in the country, and this place is a ghost town in August. For good f'ing reason. Ask *anyone* who works in the bar/restaurant/hotel industry and they'll tell you the same thing -- their plan for July and August is simply to survive.

No, UKO. Hot states don't CLOSE for the summer months, they just often struggle to get by.
