Probably going to regret this, but here goes. Our kids are taking off to a 4 day overnight camp at the end of June. I was curious what would be a cool little married couples getaway for a weekend.

We’re located near Bowling Green (shut up), and looking to drive 4-5 hours away. This is about as spontaneous as I get and I need at least 2 weeks to filter some ideas and then just take off.

Also, we’re on teachers’ salaries so we can’t do a 5-Star resort with guided luxury tours. Keep it to 4 stars, please.

Which one of you will be driving?

This makes a difference.

I took Condo #305 as the location of the actual “nail appointment” but it took place in a private residence and nieces were too young to be left alone in a condo parking lot (and that’s why he was mad.)

I also had a family vacation in FL last week, but all I have to report is that the fats are still ruining WDW with scooters (and the loss of shame).

Why hasn’t GYERO pitched the Krazy reality show. It has something for every demographic and you’d only need a cameraman and narrator.
Would quickly be the top rated series on cable on a shoestring budget.

Room 305 was where the lash appt was. I had no idea the appointment was made so when given the address to drop off the nephews girlfriend and we end up in a condo neighborhood, and I pull up to my nieces chillin in the car I was furious and confused as I thought we were meeting at a nail salon.

In Louisville she goes to a private residence for her lashes once a month or so.

I just didn’t know and when a maybe 5’10 190 pound fella answered the door I lost my cool and shoved my forearm into his chest lifting him into the wall. They were not happy to say the least, but once my wife explained I made her mad so she secretly planned the appt it made since to the lady and her husband as to why I’d be a little off expecting a nail salon and not some dude answering the door to a condo my wife was in the back room at.

Had there been any communication absolutely none of that needed to happen.

Needless to say, we tipped extra.

Claiming Livingston early before BBdK tries to swoop him up.
I've not watched the kid play but always thought he was kind of chubby just from the head shot photos of him. I guess it's his round face that gave me that impression. Dude looks anything but. Kid is put together. Hope he's not Whitney 2.0. I think he'll be a good one for the Cats.

-Krazy is a helluva guy. Lot of his family drama posts hit pretty close to home as we went through that same redneck **** with my cousins/sister, CPS, adoption, foster homes. Not an easy situation but certainly admirable.

-Bourbon tasting resulted in one of the worst hangies I've had in... a long time. Woke up at 9a with that rubbing alcohol/gas taste in my mouth. F*cking Geese was pouring 130+ proof booze like it was nothing. Don't remember anything after dinner. Yikes. Guy's been pent up, I get it.

-Top Gun: Maverick. Holy ****. Is it better than the first one? I don't think so but it's damn close. Bravo. Just an amazing throw back.

-Steak Chimichurri helped knock the edge off that hangie.

-95/96 this week. Good lawd that's hot. Weekend weather looks nice and back in mid 90s next week too. Love it.

-2 for 2 yesterday on the Claw Machine at Lex Live Arcade. Get at me.

-UT losing before Omaha is tasty. Mingione needs to gets **** right over there.

-That Abby Steiner leg. Geez. Made up 25m.

* Every time I look at the Dow, it's down another point or two. Per day. Honestly not sure how it even has a positive value at this point.

* What's the protocol for proposing cash payment in exchange for intercourse in today's NIL world? Just watching that Steiner girl has me thinking about some things.

* krazykats narrowly edges out Chris Watts and Chad Daybell for Dad of the Year.

* Spent some time yesterday with HUBER's neighbors, who were in town visiting their daughter. Great peeps.

* 4-star small forward Roosevelt Washington is TyTy Washington's uncle. Which just further proves my theory: black people have a lot of uncles.

* If Top Gun: Maverick did NOT have a gratuitous, impromptu, homoerotic, shirtless sports montage set to cheesy 80s-style pop music, I was going to walk out of the cinema right then and there. SPOILER ALERT: the movie came thru, BIGLY.

* UGayO is right about one thing -- this thread suffers from groupthink. Nobody ever disagrees on anything around here. With the exception, of course, of what is the best water, whether to sleep with the door open or closed, beach vs pool, the correct steak temperature, how to properly order your hashbrowns at Waffle House, which condiments are acceptable on a given food item, etc.

* Tommy Pham is the best player in baseball that just simply doesn't get a chance. Larkin compared him to Kevin Mitchell. He's a really good player, who has somehow played less than 800 games over a 9-year career, and didn't break into the league until he was 27.

There's a good reason, though -- he's a huge *******. I'm cool with it.

* **Twitter announcement**

It has come to my attention I have contracted the completely harmless COVID-19 virus. Out of reckless abundance, I will be continuing in my typical daily activities and lifestyle. I will not be at home, isolated in quarantine, or adhering to any nonsensical CDC guidelines in any fashion. I am also oblivious to the impact of supposed life saving vaccinations, which I did not take, nor am I thankful in any way to the medical professionals who made them available.

Yes, those vaccines have really worked out well. LOL

I'm a freak of nature, what can I say? Never said it would work for everyone. Did I mention how great I feel?

- Pretty good weekend- had my family over Friday night, daughter partied until 9 with grandpa and her aunt and uncle; Zoo Saturday morning, then neighborhood block party Saturday night. Just living that Dad Life, man.

- Anyone watch “Hustle”? Pretty good sports movie featuring a stud wing out of Kentucky. I much prefer Sandler as a serious actor.

- I don’t know - I guess blaze your own trail and whatnot but CJ Carr, Lloyd Carr’s grandson, choosing Notre Dame over Michigan doesn’t sit right with me. I am fully in the camp of Tim Couch’s dad - who didn’t speak to Tim for two weeks after he verballed to Tennessee.

- Do kids go play in the woods these days? Man if I wasn’t playing baseball/basketball/football somewhere, I was probably roaming around our woods. Went down there for the first time in like 20 years a year ago and it hadn’t changed a bit.

- My buddy in Scottsdale’s new babysitter just happens to be Rex’s daughter.

- Happy always liked the name Roosevelt. A classic.

Lass went to Nashville this weekend, and catches the late flight home tonight. Lands at 11:30pm.

Marrieds:

what’s the best way to break it to her that she’s taking an Uber?
Get ahead of it. Go ahead and tell her, “I’ve pre-ordered you an Uber”.

Either that or just ghost her and let her figure it out herself in real time.

I just say, “I’m not picking you *** up that late”, but I have the excuse of sleeping children. I also don’t think that’s the correct approach since you are newlyweds and Angela is awesome.

-Shew Anth is right, Ole Geese really spending some pent up drinking aggression on Saturday night.
2021 Thomas H. Handy
2019 Four Roses Limited Edition Small Batch
2021 Four Roses Limited Edition Small Batch
2 different Kentucky Spirit picks
Tier 6 OESV Four Roses Gift Shop pick

Aggressive to say the least.

-AAU district track meet this upcoming Saturday. At least for now it is going to be a manageable temp. I've been drafted to be the MC and DJ. It is pretty hard to find enough clean rap that suites my wife.

-No big trips this summer. Off to my FIL's house on the lake. I mean it is not luxury but the kids know no difference. Looking at a big trip next year which will be right before my 2 oldest senior year. Time flies.

*Solid weekend, again.

*Basically just a repeat of the last three, which is still very, very, fun.

*Went to a late night party of a good friend of mine in the neighborhood. I walk to the basement and he immediately points at the couch and said, "There's coach." I look over and there sits Scott Satterfield sipping a bourbon. Of course my HUGE UL fan friend introduces me as a UK fan. Dude just grins and starts yapping me up. Actually a decent dude, but of course, I was hammered and loving everyone. Ended the convo telling him good luck until the last game of the year.

*Apparently another one of their coaches was there too. Everyone there calling him "Crime-dog". His last name is McGriff, so that is a blatant rip-off of my guy and potential HOF'er Fred McGriff.

*The weather this week can get pumped. It's going to be so hot in this warehouse people will be calling in left and right, which means we will probably have to work Saturday to stay within our SLA.

*Looks like I'm headed to the Ole Miss game. Renting a place for the weekend with a group of friends. Anyone with ticket hook-ups will be much appreciated.

-caught up on the latest season of "the boys". Hilarious and *dark*. Wrong in all the right ways.

-"outer range" is a solid show. Great cast. Brolin can pull anything off and Imogen Poots is dope AF.

-first mixed dubs match ever last week. Weird dynamic...essentially you have to avoid "going at" the female player so as not to be a dick. I'm a *very* aggressive player...not yet skilled enough to *easily* avoid hitting it hard to half the court...whilst trying to manage the male partner who's a solid player. We won 3 and 2 and everyone "played correctly" and was happy...kept the ball in play/didn't overpower the "weaker" players. Fun but difficult.

-wyvern got to bond with my MIL yesterday evening after music writing session. Twas a sight to see.

^that boy can *play* the guitar, shew.

Why was Ben Foster in it? Curious casting decision, imo. I get Duvall with the old school mentor type role, but Foster was terrible and annoying -- and he's a great actor.

Being picky, because I did enjoy it, but it didn't make any sense why Foster's character was trying to submarine a prospect so blatantly -- that **** would never happen in the public sports take arena. Seemed kinda tampering-ish.

Sandler was good, however. Just wish the writing and plot went into a little more of the WHY for both BO and Stanley, and less on the gratuitous cameos. But of course with Lebron & Maverick producing it, you knew it would be over the top in that regard.
