I would almost bet that the high school agreed to whatever graduation date that sharp needed then they will receive a hefty donation. It all smells like something fishy

My post was in jest(maybe) I hope Sharpe is a non factor in the NBA and his stay in the league is a short one.
Who's this Sharpe guy everyone speaks of. I understand the business side of it, I don't like how he choose to give the UK team a big FU along the way to his career no matter how good, long, or happy it made everyone.
Sharpe may end up being great, but if I’m a GM picking in the Top 10, you really gotta get that pick right. Maybe the 8th-10th picks you take him if he’s there because it’s not a crazy talented draft, but top 5…Hell no I’m not taking someone who runs from competition. If he blows up and is better than the guy I drafted that’s fine because I can justify that in my position or interviewing for a new position. Much harder to justify if he ends up being a bust. What do you say to that? “I trusted the HS scouts that ranked him high”? Give me a break.
Agree with that GM. But it just takes 1 GM, who doesn't want to miss out, who is enamored with a player for any odd reason.
If I were an NBA GM:
Picks 1-10, I'm taking the one with the highest floor
Picks 11-20, I'm taking the one with the highest projection
Picks 21+, I'm taking the one with the highest ceiling (unless serious playoff contender who just has a specific need to fill)

Yet this same GM or ANY other one will say this CRAP then pick him as high as possible when draft night finally arrives. Those guys are the BIGGEST hypocrites in all of sports. The NBA teams draft almost EXCLUSIVELY on potential. EVERY GM is afraid of being the one that didn't draft the next Kobe.
If he’s the real deal or not no one will ever know before the draft as he has dodged all competition to showcase his talent. That alone should keep him from being a first round draft pick.
It won't. NBA teams give these rookies SMALL first contracts in relation to revenue, so the damage done with taking a chance on a kid is minimal.
Vanderbilt did play some for Kentucky and Sharpe never did a damn thing positive for Kentucky.

That being said, it's not even close. Vanderbilt played but had injury issues. He gave us what he could.

That’s about how most feel but you still can’t take these things serious because some teams put this out to try and grab a player earlier or later depending on who said it.
I agree, I don’t see how some team can justify a pick on him unless he is treating workouts like Kobe playing against the pro squad in HS or something. Like he’s actually dominating a pickup game with the team or something they see.
At least there is game footage of Vanderbilt at UK! That puts him in front of Sharpe for life. He can at least claim UK.
Revisiting history on Vanderbilt I believe the consensus at the time that people felt Vanderbilt had a minor injury and mailed it in the rest of the year.
