- Very pleased with Derby day, but could have been so much better.

Pretty much all of my horses came in 2nd, so the $10/$15/$25 WPS always saves the day.

TVG's app totally took a big **** on everyone. But, hey, they gave us a free $25 credit. *rolleyes*

Run the betting pool at our local pub (house money only, obviously). Use Backyard Bookie software to enter bets.

I put $1 on every horse.

Rich paid me 650-1 odds as I was the only one that wagered. Nice way to send Horse Dad to bed that day.

Epicenter might go off at 4/5 in the Preakness. I will be rooting for the filly, though.

- Meeting crew for a day on previously-said pub's patio. Over/under on beers drank is currently at 12.5, but Vegas might close those odds. Group text blowing up about the free $25 credit and I'm now looking over Belmont's PPs and the O/U is now 15.5. #singlelife

- If I'm starting a band, I'm at a debate on whether my lead singer is Freddy Mercury or Stevie Nicks.

- Nothing boils my balls in the subtle things in the workplace than the people that leave the microwave timer on without resetting it to the clock. Hey, Regina, could you not wait that extra 2 seconds for your Jimmy Dean's sausage biscuit?

- Give me Grippo's Caramel Popcorn over a Cracker Jack all/air. You can have the "surprise."

- Tell me a bigger ******* than one that steps up to a full table of craps players on the pass line, that puts money on don't pass. Instant villain.

- If you're asking my an underrated childhood experience, I'd have to put the times my mom would book us a room (indoor) at the Holidome (can't recall the exact location) with pool, hot tub, putt-putt, etc. "Would you like to ask a friend to go, Matt?" Deal.

YACHT ROCK SATURDAY SEVEN
Seals and Crofts - Summer Breeze (the apex of Yacht Rock to me)
America - "You Can Do Magic"
Christopher Cross - "Sailing"
Steely Dan - "Hey Nineteen"
Ambrosia - "Biggest Part of Me"
George Benson - "Breezin'"
Ace - "How Long"

- I'm taking the over on that beer bet, by the way.

My grandfather told me the story once how he was supposed to fly a mission in Operation Market Garden but got sick and the guy that took his seat got shot down and killed and if he hadn’t been sick welp no Powerrr family line so statistically speaking it’s a freaking miracle any of us made it to 2022.
my father tore his knee up playing flag football his senior year of high school. like, within a year his number was called to go to war in Vietnam... went to the physical and failed immediately.

That attorney GETS it. That’s how you take one for the team.
Lawdog: Your high honorableness, may it please the court, I would like to enter a heretofore motion to reschedule such procedures as I, of my own volition, really boofed the iCal invitation on this as per respective to my client, Mr. C-Rod’s, knowledge and that is why we missed the court date at its appointed time docket schedule line item. ...Go Cats.”

Judge: “I’ll allow it. But know that you are on thin ice in my court, counselor. …*wink*…. Go Cats.”

It’s not that exciting of a story. One of the strippers was a couple grades behind me in high school so she was talking to me and she said a couple more of her classmates were working.

Turns out one of them was my second or third cousin and she asked us to leave.
You got kicked out for trying to get lap dances from your cousin?

One of my buddies told me this story about going to The Clubhouse back in the day. A girl came out, started her show, and an old dude ran up on stage. Dude grabbed her arm and the bouncers were all over the old fella, roughed him up while stripper was bawling. Apparently it was her father and neither knew the other would be there. Talk about awkward.

I wonder if hospice would allow some strippers in, as a dying man's last wish?

One or several of you needs to make this happen when I'm close to the light. I'll set aside a trust, giving one of you legal rights to administer it. I'll make a rider and provide the funds. More to follow.

(this is crucial though, you can't let me croak during the debauchery, I need 30 to 45 seconds to get absolved before I kick) As an incentive, you can pull my solid gold crown out as a bonus. Bring pliers, nobody needs to know.

I feel sure that my wife is 100 percent behind me on this.

- Yes Hospice would allow this basically because they leave you alone while you visit said family member.

Reminds me of the To y Soprano scene when Jackie Sr was laid up and dying.

- Several stripper stories but the only one worth merit here is my buddy’s bachelor party.

Was warned once hands off, came close to touching again so they cuffed him to the chair. The girl was a good sport though and knocked him back on the stage playfully. Then she squated over top of him not knowing how much of a perv he was and immediately had his tongue in her a$$.

Dude not only got us all tossed, but took a few licks to the body on the way out too.

Same dude ended up in divorce a year later because he’d get drunk and want his friends to smash his wife. After a few obliged he went crazy insecure with name calling and other insane nonsense.

- Swam in the pool for the first time last night. I believe I’m really going to enjoy this summer.

- Yard projects today, my least favorite chores ever.

- Ja really needs a running mate to get over the hump.

- Steph is obviously insane, but when Klay is on I actually enjoy GSW more. Something about his mean mugs and demeanor that I just enjoy that killer mentality in him instead of Steph smiling, or even worse, playing with his damn mouth piece!

  • Since when are Sunday weddings a thing? My niece is getting married tomorrow. Reckon I will be a bit hazy on Monday morning trying to work.
  • Verizon Fios can get pumped. No WiFi for 5 days and they will get a prorata monthly payment for May ‘service’.
  • A month before my dad died, I placed him in my car, dropped the top and drove around his old neighborhood (Greenwich Village)… like the movie Awakenings, the stories and lucid recall flowed… he was looking for old friends, wondering why they weren’t sitting, hanging out on their familiar stoops. It was something I’ll ever forget and cherish..
  • Speaking of Stoops, his WmTarr Manchester Reserve (Turkey Bourye) is getting some nerd cult following.
  • So glad the Sixers are out… I mean f*ck Philly.

- Really like this Ziesmer pickup for the CATS. Comes from a great program and they clearly have a path marked for him (i.e., the Paschal Plan). Only a three-star, but seems like the kind of kid this staff turns into a second-night draft pick in May, 2026 or so.

- Tagging my dad's account in FB posts about him means that I start getting friend requests from people he went to high school with back in the early 60's. No thanks, folks. My timeline is already cluttered enough. Don't need a half-dozen "SHARE IF YOU LOVE YOUR GRANDKIDS" memes a day, too.

- There's no way that Norm Macdonald posthumous special is anything but A-grade material, right?

- "Wings" was an underrated sitcom. Good for a few laughs, unique setting, well-developed characters. I think there is a such a thing as "comfort food" when it comes to TV shows, and that one fits the bill.

- As a kid, any place my folks took us that had peel-and-eat shrimp might as well have been the Ritz-Carlton. Was easily the cultural peak for a couple of Harrison County simpletons like my brother and I.

- Thoughts on Marikka's? I know it's been there forever, but I've never actually heard anyone talk about the food there. Most friends have only mentioned it regarding their sand volleyball leagues (an obvious addition to a German restaurant).

Deuce, sorry I was a dick to you in that post last night. You’re a good dude, and I was in a foul mood after a foul day on top of a foul week. No excuse for being an *******, tho.

Took a mental health day today and had my wife do all the kids’ running around stuff. Dicked around in the yard, sat in the sun, listened to music. Feel a lot better. The day to day can really get to be a damned drain sometimes.

In college we hired these strippers for a rush event at this house out in the country. They could do this neat trick with blow pops, they shot them out of their hootch. The rushees really got a kick out of it. They weren’t as thrilled at their first lineup when we held up a ziplock bag full of used blow pops.

We went with a Saturday wedding back in August but venues are significantly cheaper than on Saturdays from what I gathered. One place we looked at had the Island in the middle of a pond for the ceremony and the barn for the reception for 10K on a Saturday. It would've been 6500 for both on a Sunday.

If you just did the wedding at the island, it was 6500 on that Saturday and they'd set up tents and a dance floor for the reception. Wedding/Reception at the barn alone was like 5. I'm sure the numbers are off a bit but that seems to be why people are doing Sunday weddings. Also, I went into the wrong profession. Buy/build a barn, make it nice, and people will pay huge amounts to get married there.

Dang, so all you have to do is pay millions of dollars for primo acreage, buy or build a really nice barn for 500k+, pay a grounds crew thousands of dollars a year and then pay for marketing, and then hope that after several years it becomes popular enough that it gets booked out for 15 weekends a year where you profit around 10k and deal with insane wedding parties?? Where do I sign up?!

Agree. Cooked up a solid Sunday breakfast, swam until the playoffs started. Drank a few beers during the game, and as soon as it was over I threw on some smash burgers and now I’m about to pass out as I lay here watching game 2.

Weekends are about to be real special this year!

I could be wrong but I don’t think people are paying millions of dollars for land in Corbin unless you’re talking 100+ acres.

Doncic is unreal. Just knew that if he didn’t go #1 in that draft the teams that passed on him would regret it. Bagley III might as well be Sam Bowie II. Going to be a fun set of Conference Finals and Finals.
