That was our 3rd stop after we left -- all her friends had already bounced, and we were settled and leaving when you unfortunately showed up.

I was in town for a few reasons, none of which were Anthony's birthday or a "quarterly business meeting." Sorry bubs.

Monday randoms...

- Got a babysitter for both kids for the first time on Saturday for 3 hours. Took a gummy thinking it would make time go by slower....big false! Wife and I both hit it as hard as would could and came home to 2 kids ready for dinner and a babysitter who was ready to bounce.

- Not worried about losing Keion on at all. Toppin is ready to play 32 min a game. Hopefully he can develop a consistent 3pt shot.

- Surprised Corker and Rosenthal weren't drafted. Still, what Stoops and co have built at UK is still one of the most amazing things I've seen for UK sports.

- Watched both NBA games yday. I know 3pointers are now the latest fad but damn that Warriors-Grizz game was nothing but an intense/hard played 3 point contest.

- Housewarming party in the new house this Sat. Mother in law flying down to help with the kids. Starts at 2pm but hoping most stick around for Derby. I will be force feeding shots to all of our 50-60 year old neighbors.

- Reds suck.

- Team BBDK on this one...if he sent a Venmo that night, no harm no foul.

Baseball centric weekend. Coached a Peewee game Saturday morning. Took part in the inaugural Nashville Sandlot Invitational Jamboree Sat night and Sunday. Played against teams from New Orleans and NYC. Umped a game. Pitched a game. Good vibes all around. Baseball rules.

Jai Lucas sucks.

Shaedon Sharpe reportedly jumped 1 mile in the air. Will be the #1 draft pick of all time, uphill both ways.

I watched the latest Cason Wallace highlights and all I could think was man, I would've been pumped about this guy a few years ago. Can't muster any basketball energy. He's good tho.

Football Cat defensive front is absolutely stacked stacked, and young. 2023 could have an all-time defense with Vito back and a little experience under the belts of the young DBs. Need to find a Levis replacement to keep the momentum goin.

On3's awards from the Iverson Classic:

Most Valuable Player

6-3 PG Cason Wallace, Richardson (TX) High

Cason Wallace
was the best player in the building, and it was not ever in question. Wallace used the series of post-season all-star games to solidify himself as the top point guard in the 2022 class. Wallace has been thought of as the class’s top perimeter defender for some time. Questions arose about what position he projected. Did he shoot it well enough to be a two or create well enough to be a one?

Over the past month, Wallace showed he could do both against the best competition high school offers. A player-comparison you heard NBA personnel use was Jrue Holiday. While he was already thought of as a consensus top-ten prospect, Wallace probably did more for his long-term stock than any other player in this camp.

Best Shooter

6-3 PG Cason Wallace, Richardson (TX) High

We spoke about Wallace above but felt his shooting this week deserved another space. He was comfortable off the catch, off the bounce, creating off one and two dribbles. The form was consistent, and the shots were confident. Wallace’s week of shooting was impressive, which further solidified his lot among the top in the class.

Cason Wallace is my # 1 want. He does it all. Jrue Holiday comp immediately comes to mind. Sharpe already seems in the bag so EEEEEK.

Yeah, that's not what happened at all. Venmo was sent.

Ruby's doesn't care about you all nearly as much as you care about them, that much is for certain. It's both humorous and kinda pathetic, imo.

Actually that's exactly what happened.

I've never actually paid for someone's meal before, so we're in uncharted territory, but when you've lost AP.com you know it's bad.

Service was really slow, because if you remember the poor girl waiting our table told the POS system crashed that evening, so everything was being done old school. Didn't bother me. Was drinking, hanging out with good friends, watching and gamboling on horse races.

Pretty easy to not go if it's not your thing. We all just happen to enjoy it. Which is why we do it every few months.

I did enjoy it, we had a blast, for 3 hours -- and I politely explained and apologized the situation I was in. Nobody had an issue with it how it was presented at the time.

I had promised certain things to the birthday girl, for her birthday night. I abandoned most in favor of hanging with *my* friends instead. When it it was obvious 3 hours in we still had another hour to go, I asked Jaime if she minded me sending a Venmo for our portion (which she did, and it was immediately fulfilled), so we could at least catch her friends and our original plans for a bit, you know for HER birthday. She indicated that was absolutely fine. Period, end of story.

You're the one being an ******* about it. "Never paid for someone's meal before". Lmao

Tell AP.com to reach out to me and I'll tell him to get pumped as well.

You know the deal, pal. You're not above being called out and that little guilt tactic ain't working on me.

Monday Randos:

- Moving up to Michigan (Kalamazoo) in August…very hard decision which was made easier by the fact home/land prices are 1/3 no less than the national average, cannabis is legal, and I can finally just farm.

About a year and a half to two years ago I walked out of my job for 12 years as a mental health professional, and now I’m finally going to be able to realize my dream.

- Pretty bummed that the white guy from North/South Dakota State or didn’t want to come to a place that would have billed him as the “Great White Hope.”

- Stoops has the football team in a great spot, yet there seems to be little hype about his next recruiting class early. Seems like there is more hype toward the ‘24 class with all of the new assistants trying to make inroads there…which makes sense.

- I’ve developed arthritis/bunion in my big toe, not ideal. Anyone else deal with that? Moderate pain through the day and terrible at night sometimes from just use. (Not fat/inactive)
