Nobody is saying Cal shouldn’t have taken a chance on SS. Get that through your head.

It’s what he told us throughout the whole process. He lied to us from stem to stern.

He led us to believe SS would not be draft eligible, then he tried to convince us that it was best for Sharpe to return to UK TO IMPROVE HIS LOTTERY PICK POSITION.

That was a bold faced lie. Who the hell turns down a lottery pick draft position to go play college ball? Cal tried to pass that meatball by us. He’s a fvcking liar.

If Cal wants to roll the dice on a bigtime player like Sharpe, fine, but don't frealing lie about it.
From all messaging, sounds like he isn’t eligible….

You have no idea what he knew when he knew it. You're acting like a spoiled child who didn't get the christmas present he wanted and then making up a scenario which proves that you were irrevocably harmed. Fans like you are the problem, not the coach who tried to bring in a top 10 player.
Oh get offf your POS high horse. Go ahead and keep on defending this garbage coach. This crap should not be happening at UK. Cal is a disgrace and so are you.

Question, when you make up these stories do you make up different voices for each person?

Stop acting like you know something just because you're mad at Cal. We have no idea what Cal believed.
How do you see this whole situation Mr. Wizard?

Are you going to share Bass' opinion that Cal is the victim? Oh please do. I already knew you were a punk, now we can add naive follower to the list.

But please, by all means, tell me how you think this went down based on what Cal and those in the know, have said.

Cal should not have teased the fans by pretending to check him into a game. Cal also should not have urged fans to come watch him warm up. He was stupid to do those things. He also should have played him this past year. But I don’t want him to stop bringing in kids like sharpe. I don’t want to see another kid waste our time like this though.

cal is not blameless here but a lot of what he said was rehash from the sharpe camp. I maintain that the sharpes are the true villains in all this. Maybe I just really hate liars. Everything you claim that cal lied about was birthed by the sharpes and Their numerous interviews. They always spoke first. Then cal. If you can provide anything that refutes this then perhaps I’d change my stance.
You’re belittling what Cal did here. He either got played, or he played the fanbase, used UK's resources and lied. Either way, he should feel a hell of a lot of heat for a long time on this.

You don't pull this **** at UK, especially after 9-16, Evansville and Saint Peters.

Keep reading, things changed.
Yeah…a transcript was faked.

If you meet all of the requirements, but continue to go to school and play ball, you still haven’t graduated…

question is, will the NBA fall for it…

Wow! Make up stuff much? Cal said that Sharpe's people said he would be back. Cal didn't lie, he had no control over the situation. It's not becoming to make things up. He wanted Sharpe to play, he wanted Sharpe to come back, he told us what he knew at the time. Get a grip on life dude. You sounding crazy
Then Cal got played. He either lied, or a high school kid played him. Which story do you want to go with? Ihm fine either way, because both of them should result in Cal feeling serious heat.

What exactly was the lie? What was the exact quote. What was the non-Jeffy Poo established fact that he misrepresented? Spit out our Jeffy Poo. You can’t can you.
Lets talk about it over a beer. Seriously, I'll buy you a beer. You in Lexington? I'll be there this weekend.

He said he was putting his name in the draft and keeping it there. That kid was never going to play here.
Apparently everyone, but Cal and his followers knew this.
No. He said he was keeping the option open to return.

aren’t you the guys who told me to keep reading?
Literally the only thing the guy put out is that he was testing the water, and keeping the option to return open. And that is exactly what he did.

PJ, The Harrison’s, and many others have done the same.
I’m not saying he’s coming back, but people are seeming really jerking when literally nothing has changed…

i wonder if people regret hiring cal, or just letting him coach this long.
When he was hired we needed him; he was the right man for the job
However…it’s beyond time for him to go. He’s too old to change his ways and he created a monster he can no longer control.
Given the nature of OAD and the emphasis placed on it in our program, this Sharpe situation was bound to happen

Jeffy Poo, what makes you think I’d ever want a beer with you? Seriously dude, you know spit about basketball. You are obnoxious to anyone that even slightly disagrees with you. We both know what you got in mind.

Yet, this board went ape when someone posted on twitter that Sharpe wasn't eligible for the draft. Way back when it was also a major discussion: Is he or isn't he? How do we know that Cal KNEW he was eligible when it was so debated? BTW, that is a serious question.

Kyle Tucker reported that Cal knew. Get on twitter and ask him. Pretty sure Cal's silence speaks volumes. He should have throttled Tucker if he was speaking falsely. He said zippo.

Cal did what he should have done. The kid raked him over the coals, but you don't turn away #1 player. Hamidou did basically same thing, except he came back

$9 million man has "no control over the situation" - fine, then fire his *** for incompetence. Now we have actual cause so his buyout can be voided. "Lack of institutional control," I believe the NCAA calls it.
Call Mitch, see how far you get. I bet you can get er done. lol. Who is this we have cause? You have a say in who's hired and fired at UK? lol

Let’s everyone freak out again on Calipari lol. Who wouldn’t have taken a chance on Sharpe? Every coach would’ve. No one can control the situation that happened. Relax people. Oscar is coming back. We don’t even know the majority of players who will be in the team yet. But Kentucky will be real good. You people are absolutely crazy. You want to know why there were rumors about Sharpe staying? Bc everyone knows how I sane some of you are. Why wouldn’t they want to toy with you ? I’m not sad at all. We get Oscar back! Let’s gooooo!!!

Ignorant take. I mean, like really, really ignorant.

Cal "taking the #1 player" is not the point. He knew Sharpe wasn't going to ever play for us when he spoke with him in early February and found out Sharpe was entering the draft process in the Spring and not playing for us in 2021-2022.

Cal then went out and told BBN that Sharpe was still going to "lead us" next year.

Best case scenario, it was incredibly naïve and Cal should have never said such a silly, shortsighted statement.

That you and the @bluefaithful , @Lempface , and @Deli owl coalition can't process that is truly mind-boggling.

What can’t I process? I’ve never said I’m for or against Cal as coach. I really don’t care who coaches but until we find someone better, there’s no reason to change. Also no reason to cry like a baby every day when nothing is going to change. Grow up and move on…. Or just continue throwing a tantrum with no changeable outcome. On the other side you have zero first hand knowledge of what Cal knew. You are just making stuff up. If you do, feel free to share the evidence. Or just make up more stuff.

Do you really believe Cal thought Sharpe would be back after he met with him in February and Sharpe said 1. he wasn't playing for the 2022 team and 2. he was probably going to test the NBA waters?

Do you really, actually, mindfully believe that?

Plenty of coaches can get a team to a 10-16 record 😂

We got used and that's all you can say. I'm okay with it if Cal pushed for him to suit up after the NBA miraculously appeared in play. If Cal let him sit over there knowing he was probably leaving and Grady was badly injured then I have a problem. His handlers need to come out and say it was 100% on them not to play or Cal has some explaining to do. This kid used us for some pretty good NIL money and practice bodies..

Simple questions:

1. Did Sharpe tell Cal he wasn't playing in February?

2. Did Sharpe tell Cal he'd likely "test the waters" in the Spring (at the same meeting)?

Go back and read the Cal transcript from the post-Sharpe meeting.

Then, once you see that the answers are both affirmative, come back here and tell us all that you truly think Cal expected the kid to come back and "lead us" next year, which is exactly what Cal said after points 1 and 2 were declared by Sharpe himself.

This is the same Cal who has coached NBA expediency guys like Skal, Vanderbilt, Briscoe, etc.; the same coach who understands that when a top 10 pick tells you he's "testing" the waters, he's gone.

And you want us to take all that sample size and believe that Cal was suddenly Mr. Gullibility?

That's an absurd suggestion on your part. Absolutely absurd.
