Someone told me they read somewhere that Brooks is likely returning.Anyone heard anything about this?

I mean, his options are go make money playing somewhere, likely not the NBA right away, or make money at UK with NIL and be in the same boat next year. If he wants to be back he's got his same role as this year (maybe with less minutes).
Would be great! Need his experience and would also love to have Toppin and Ware back….
Seems like a good guy but I wish Cal would go in a different direction.
If it’s between him or Toppin. I’m taking Toppin.
I want him and Toppin back. Maybe we are undervaluing how good it would be to have them both back. And improved.
Brooks would be the first senior since the Unforgettables to go into his senior season without a NCAA tournament victory under his belt.
What a sad fact...we are now teetering on the precipice of an all-time low.
In just the last 3 years alone:
- Worse season in UK history
- Worst NCAA tourney loss in UK history
- Passed up for most Final Four appearances
- Passed up for All-time Wins
- Lost Consecutive 3 pointers made

I don’t mind them both back but I’d like their roles to be switched. Toppin starting and KB off the bench or basically for Toppin to play starter minutes.
I wouldnt blame Toppin if he does stay in the draft cuz for Cal not to play him in the second half vs St Dicks is inexcusable. Hope he does come back and Cal increases his role cuz I think Toppin could wreak some havoc next season. Kid plays hard as ****…can’t remember too many times where I was upset with his performance.

If Brooks returns, then it would be highly unlikely Toppin would. Could lose Collins too. Brooks needs to move on but he's found he's 100% delusional about the NBA. Friend said most are stunned he starts at UK.

We have plenty of room for both.
Triple C doesn’t know how to use both. Brooks comes back and Toppin is buried on the bench.
I agree but I don’t think Toppin wants that. He wants 30 plus and I assume Brooks would too. Would take them both but if I can only choose one, I’m taking Toppin all day.
That is true just saying from a roster spots available, now getting Cal to play the best people or using the bench is another fight.

I hate to say it but Brooks leash was just too damn long I have loved every player that has played for UK. This player when his play didn’t warrant more playing time he still got more playing time. If he was to come back this wouldn’t change a thing his playing time would still be unwarranted! Please just move on it would benefit both parties!

Not really. You also have to remember Collins is committed to staying and Livingston coming in as well. Between them/Toppin and fact they are also recruiting more players...Brooks days should be numbered. All things equal, he'd struggle to get minutes.
I’m stunned he starts for UK so that’s no surprise to me. I do wish he would move on, we keep Toppin and Collins. Best for all, I think.
At the rate we have lost players to injury I’d rather have a full stock lol.
I wouldn’t mind having Brooks if he’d come off the bench and be mentally committed. But Cal will start him and he will be in Poythress mode except for a couple of games in which he’ll play really good.

Brooks is a good kid, and if he comes back I’d welcome him with open arms, but I think it’s best for both sides to part ways. Brooks isn’t getting drafted, but he could be a very good player for a High D 1 school with the right fit in the portal. With Livingston, Toppin, and Collins fighting for minutes it’s going to a repeat for him this year. I’ll roll with this the lineup below, but we MUST add another PG from the portal

I would be ok with KB coming back if we lost Toppin or Collins, but wouldn't want that to happen.
There is just too much of a log jam at that position. Livingston is essentially replacing Hopkins at this point (probably a big upgrade) but it puts us back in the same boat.
Oscar gets 30 minutes....so for the tradition 5/4 position you have 40 mins between Ware/Toppin/Collins/Livingston....though I am sure Livingston plays the 3 quite a bit.

If Brooks comes back and starts then your going to struggle. Brooks should be playing Lance Ware role. He's had his moments only way too few of them.
Brooks has the tools but clearly lacks the focus to stay engaged...we saw what he's capable of, but really only once did he play up to his potential or 5 star ranking.
I would prefer Toppin as well as the starter at the 4...actually I'd prefer the 6'10 guy we just had visit if he is willing to be a stretch 4 type and play some at the 3 as well...but Brooks isn't nearly as bad as all the people on here make him out to be.
With most of you guys, would prefer Toppin back. Brooks is one of these guys that might come back, but you're okay if he doesn't. Which tells you something. Most of the time BBN is chomping at the bit to return a starter.
Why do people hate Brooks so much? He averaged 10/5 in 23min/game. Those are solid stats for a complementary player. The same goes for Wheeler who's one of the best passers in the nation, the latter just needs to curb the turnovers. Seems shortsighted not to want an All-SEC player back.
Don't think Brooks will be back to UK next year. Some things leaked out today, that made folks go "hmmmmm"... but probably an explanation that will come out later.
Insider says Brook is gone, Wheeler is staying.
