Cal will hold off on the Sharpe announcement as long as he can. Sharpe will go "through the process" and "gather information", and make it seem like he's torn, when in reality, this kid had his mind made up since before he committed to Calipari.
I'm guessing the staff is working hard on getting Oscar back, as they likely think that will negate the Sharpe absurdity.

Not sure who will be shocked once sharpe announces he is leaving. People have already been venting for months about it. I’m over it. Just want to know who will come in.
I'm going with everyone that's left on the team including walk-ons. This program is such a dumpster fire now, we got a Coach that says "oh well" when we lose in the SEC tournament or the 1st round of the NCAA tournament because all he cares about is who he puts in the NBA
My guess is Sharpe, I would almost bet it happens on a Friday to try and keep the News at a minimum on TV so Cal gets the least amount of backlash possible.
I say let him leave and go Coach the Lakers if they come after him, hes always wanted to Coach the NBA again and he would get to Coach his favorite players Premadonna Bron and Street Clothes Davis

I really don’t understand the Cal to the nba talk, he tried that once and sucked. And as a bench coach he’s horrible.
I agree completely. The thing Cal has been known for has been recruiting. I’m not sure anyone has ever actually considered him to be an elite coach.
As soon as he stopped getting the best recruits, he stopped winning big games. Great coaches find ways to win with less. He’s always found ways to lose with more.
I think he's scarred by it
and he's used the Kentucky program to try to prove for years he can develop , manage and win with NBA level talent.

He loves UK. He loves the fans. He loves Cal. He has unfinished business here. NIL can make him rich. It’s like you don’t want him to come back.

Technically not true for his whole career. UMass had never been to the ncaa and he had them winning 30 games a year...that was before Camby
I think the reason he loves Kentucky is because he has embraced the school and the fans, he never saw this as ONLY a stepping stone. He's got a different mentality and I think genuinely can feel how passionate the fans are.
That being said whether he leaves or not, I don't know. I do know, which is something I can't say about everyone here, is he loved his time here and the fans. If he leaves, it's because his family needs the money and no one can blame him for that.
It would be best if the Cal cult fans left.
