Kentucky wouldn’t beat Kansas or UNC now.. Not a chance. We were fading at the end. Barely beat Vanderbilt. Tennessee owned us. Then we lost to a 15 seed St. Peter’s.

There’s really no reason to have optimism with a Coach Cal team these days.

he did about what Donovan did
now whether he can continue is another story

prior to that run he was not much more than very average

i will say i like him much more than Bennett
The guy coaches a small private catholic university who hadn’t done anything since the 80s. He has four Final Fours and two titles. He has done this without loading his roster with NBA one and dones.

Nah of course not.

But I guess that's when you just look at the season as a whole ...........26-8, top 5 offense. I mean we blew the doors off two of these teams that are still playing. And you make a prediction on what is more likely to happen.
26-8 is not a good year when you don't win the SEC or the SECT and lose in the 1st round to a 15 seed. I don’t care ifthey averaged a 100 points a game.

If March is all that matters, then it better start mattering more.

Plain and simple….Cal has had some of the best talent in the college game and manages to screw it up like clockwork. He’s a late night TV evangelist that takes your money and buys himself a mansion and yacht while preaching to his congregation that he’s your savior.

That's all well and good to think that this season wasn't a good year.

But when you are sitting here trying to figure out whether or not 2023 is going to be any good or not and you see 26-8, you think well maybe.

Of course it largely depends on some guys coming back like Oscar for starters. But we'll see what happens.

he also has one of the most fertile recruiting grounds in the country in his back yard
if his recruiting has not been up to par then that is on him

This “what have you done for me lately” mentality is idiotic. Wright’s resume before 2016 was trash and no one on this board would have given him the time it took to win his first title.
Why do we keep comparing program like UK to Villanova?

To accomplish what Wright did at Nova as of 2016 was incredible job

Doing the same at UK is not as incredible

it is not really comparing schools
it is more about comparing coaches
