All I know is what my friend told me-which is the staff told him they think he's going to be at Kentucky and he's not as sure as they are of that. Been that way and same answer I can give. Personally I don't know anything of this stuff. After reading the posts below...I'll start putting disclaimers out to make sure posters I don't usually interact with understand the difference in info being told to someone/shared and someone proclaiming they know something personally, lol
That dude is a troll who has had like 10 other accounts banned. Ignore him.

So I’ve heard there are staff members that actually DO think he will be at UK next year . I’ve heard some nba people have said , as of yet , he hasn’t begun the process. I’ve heard the top five teams drafting have no interest in him and right now there’s a chance he falls out to the top ten . I’ve also heard (shockingly to me) that Cal is selling him on coming back if he’s not top five . You hearing similar things ?
If I had a dime for everybody who believed the confident feelings of insiders and the staff during Cal tenure of guys returning I’d be retired. I won’t believe it until he actually checks in a game next year. It would surprise me to see someone line the Spurs give him a guarantee, and he leaves and goes 14th overall or something. (No idea where the Spurs sit in the lottery but probably decently high this year.)

They've done fine. Got 3 top 10 players including the guy seen as the top overall prospect at Peach Jam by NBA Scouts in Shaedon Sharpe. Sharpe situation is the key for Cal--if he keeps him, then he's fine. Minute he leaves..I really don't see anything other than a change getting the fans unified and passionate about UK basketball again.
Exactly, @ralphdaltonfan. Sharpe is the key to this class, whether it’ll be a really good class or very subpar. The program as a whole and Cal need Sharpe to stick it out and play. However, him staying still doesn’t excuse him not playing this past season.

@ralphdaltonfan FYI you dont know anything lol i cant believe a bunch of morons on here really believe you are connected. you know nothing more than anyone else on here. or be a man and tell us the connections you have HAHA you are varsity coach at a no name school who knows a couple of aau dudes.. ive got more connections to the uk staff than you to be honest. not once have i read something that cant be googled :D
Grow a set and stop making an account every time you want to be confrontational and come at a specific poster. He was on the Skyy Clark thing way back last year, or maybe earlier. I seriously doubt he “googled” his information on that situation.

Never proclaimed to be an expert or have always clarified if it's info I have personally shared which is very few times. I've got a well connected friend and have shared info on the board that's allowed to be shared and talked with enough posters on this site via PM to go in depth on things that if it was incorrect, think I'd have been called out for passing on bad info long ago. So not sure what brought on this attack, but since you wanted to bring up Justus, the fans here know between he/Skyy Clark I went against the grain for a long time and passed on info and none of that was popular or did I care if it was well received or not-it was what was being talked about. Came to the site with info on Fox, Bam, and Monk. Fans lectured me that "you better not be trolling" and that info wasn't coming from anywhere else. Got called out of my name about Skyy Clark and some said "you made it personal"-when all I was doing was sharing what was being communicated by those who do talk with UK staff members.

Never once have I stated I personally know anything about Shaedon Sharpe's decision.Did state that I was high on him as a player but that's all I ever personally added. Said my friend was told by the staff they think he's returning and he's not as confident about that as the staff is. That's all I've commented on and every person here who interacts or reads that specific question can verify that's been the response. So if it came off that way or you didn't like that question was being asked--I just assume when it's certain posters that interact with I don't have to give a disclaimer when responding.

I'd advise you that HS coaches and people who work/worked in AAU do make good contacts/friends. Since you seem to be riding for Justus, it's not a surprise you'd talk down to someone like me. Maybe if Justus spent more time talking to the guy I know, he'd have done a better job and still be at Kentucky.
You called the mess with Skyy Clark probably over a year ago. You stuck to your guns and were adamant about him the whole time.

You took your lumps on here over it as well. Some people, like me, gave you the benefit of the doubt. You were correct the whole entire time. Losing him has kinda put us in a pickle as far as depth. We really need to replace him with a quality player.

I thought we were supposedly on him hard and even thought about having him reclass at one point? What happened with his recruitment?
Oregon has basically been the front runner for a while but UK has been seen as “2nd”. It’s strange how many times I feel like we are right there but not 1st. Mgbako is another one, seems we will finish second to Duke. Need to go hard for Wagner, Kwame Evans, and JJ Taylor

I am 100% with you on this . For last few years I’ve been in the “show me “ mode . And I’ve been pretty disappointed in what I’ve been shown .

Evans visits Oregon April 22 and if they want him, they will figure out a way to get him

Reclass and going to Oregon. Not a big fan of his game tbh. Reminds me of a taller year 1 pj washington. Would rather have Evans jr or Mbako

Another Cal failure. What the hell? Give these kids something CCC. We need this kid.
So you’ve seen this guy play? Do you ***** about every player Cal recruits and doesn't sign? He can’t take every single player he recruits. Do you understand that?

What kind of stupid questions are those? What are you, 8? Cal’s recruiting lately has not been great in case you haven’t noticed. And his coaching has sucked pretty bad for quite a while. I assume you don’t watch our games. He doesn’t have the option of taking every single player because they go elsewhere before giving us a thought. Give it a rest pal.

never have to worry about that with CCC
always the supposed leader during the early recruitment, but then fades away

This Hazard jerk is just trolling. Don't take the bait.

The realist in me says the staff sticking with the Sharpe narrative is doing just that, sticking to the narrative should this go south which is unfortunately the most likely scenario.

Based on what the so-called experts are saying about Cook, UK is likely being used once again as a hat on the table. Makes sense to me as his other two options both being on West coast.

In the Fall, they were in position with him/Dillingham to possibly reclass (Dillingham was more talked of at the time) and we've seen them jump back into it with Dillingham but not sure if that is '22 reclass or in '23?. I've got no clue as to what changed with Cook? There were rumors that he may go Pro but he's from Portland, OR so maybe that played a role returning "home"? Oregon NIL package?

Weird choice to leave home for his final year of high school and then return back for college. Don’t feel like you see that much with these top kids.

Cook has not impressed me so far in this game. Not enough of an offensive threat yet for my liking

we have two 5 stars ranked #5 and #10, that is far from subpar

I think Cal won't survive another down year. He's got to produce in '23 and it starts with keeping Sharpe/Oscar or Sharpe and a big time replacement upfront. Can't have the roster/team midpack level next year.
If we have another mediocre year in 2023, I can see Cal pulling an Urban Meyer and saying he needs to step away for “health reasons”.

I would then expect him to reappear the next season with a new team

Cookie Mook may be a good player but I'm not impressed so far but I really don't know much about him other than this game.
