Will this Cal hate ever abate?

Stop. There are few, if any, “Cal fans”. Everyone on this board is a UK fan that has different views on what direction is best for the program. For the people wanting to fire Cal, and I’ve asked this in at least 4 threads without getting a response, who are you replacing him with. Unless you can confirm a better, realistic, replacement this just continues to be an annoying whining session from the anti-Cal contingent.

So silence unless there is a perfect answer with a crystal ball of guaranteed success? Lol. Of course there is risk and no one knows who can be successful... But we do know the trend downward since 2015 at most, last two seasons at least and with no changes in sight... We can predict what we will get more of. That is realistic minus whining.

I can't guarantee a successful new coach. Can you guarantee me better results than last two seasons?

I have no answer for the OP but I find myself coming to the board less and less. The overwhelming negativity towards Cal, while understandable, is becoming very boring to me. That's all you see and it is getting very old, especially the CCC stuff. I am not hapoy with Cal and how the season ended but I feel he is going to be out coach moving ahead. Not much we can do about that. So, I'm a UK fan first, and am interested in seeing what happens for our roster next year. Love or hate Cal, I'm still all in on UK first. That's my stand, like it or not.

Also, how do you fire Cal with the incredible buyout? I think it's time to face we are stuck with him and decide, do we support the team or just be anti Cal fans and hope they lose.

A major overstatement? The first non probationary losing season since the 20s? Losing to a 15 seed? This is actually worse than the Eddie Sutton days. Atleast then there was a reason. We have a coach now who is grossly overpaid, hasn’t won a tournament game since he got this stupid contract and got the contract after losing. At least UK could wipe their hands of Sutton and move on fast. According to some here and they say it with glee “Cals not going anywhere until he wants to”. That means the program is being held hostage by a guy who cannot win. Hasn’t beat a P5 team in the ncaa since when? 2017 against UCLA? This is the most perilous time in UK basketball history. The bottom has fallen out and everyone acts like oh well we can’t do anything. Why Barnhart isn’t already gone is a head scratcher and honestly the university president should resign for strapping the school with such a high non academic cost.

You must be sick. At least that would be an excuse.

Spot on. I don't hate Cal, just as I didn't hate Tubby, but just like Tubby, it's past time for Cal to leave.

I like your post and agree with it for the most part. But I’ve become very anti-Cal here of late and I never was a huge fan of him in the first place. He seems to have disappeared since we lost to St. Peters and he’s never been real fond of the BBN. That’s fine .. I pull for UK. The coach is not who I’ve supported for the past sixty years. We seem to be sinking fast and Cal doesn’t address it. As I’ve said … it’s awful now but if one or both Sharpe / Oscar leave it will be unbearable on this board and that’s on Cal.

I disagree, not everyone here is a UK fan. I'll not name names, but most of us know who the fakes are, the trolls, and their numbers are not limited to the get rid of Cal contingent; there are several who post "pro Cal" crap who are NOT UK fans in any way.

There's one in particular who never posts anything constructive, nothing. Their responses are pretty much summed up in either a single sentence "Cal isn't going anywhere, deal with it." ; "So." (They usually omit the ( ? ), and other such nonsense. Their sole purpose here is to cause trouble and yet they haven't been banned yet.

It's blatantly obvious who these people are, and I find them as "annoying" as you do those of us who want Cal to move on.

Yeah I can. 2 seasons isn't an eternity. You guys talk about all the things that make uk the best program ever, which is true, but in the 100 plus years you think the defintion is 2 years and theres no way out. Before you say dur dur you slurp calipari. No. So really you can't predict anything. Yet youre making a decision without any logically plan for what comes next.

What we can predict tho, is if he goes somewhere else and succeeds, then you'll naturally do what all of you do then blame it all on Barnhart. Jist like you would've if he went to ucla. And the next guy, you'll want him out by year 3, bc no established coach is going to take this job.

As far as changes, you all whined about oad's, then we only play one freshman, then you're mad about that. I get the timeout complaints, etc. But it's also not like this board isn't known for pouting about everything anyway.

Giving Cal support just because the program is in a financial bind with him, and allowing him to continue with his coaching approach unchanged does the Kentucky program no good. It only enables Cal to do as he wants while being paid handsomely to do so. Voicing disproval is the fans only real impact to him. We may be stuck with Cal but until he delivers or leaves we don’t have to like it, and in turn we should let him know where he stands with the fan base every opportunity we are given.
