He could finish his coaching career back in college. Would be a great fit. I know he turned us down twice while at Florida. but his situation is different now. Thoughts?

Billy Donovan has been in the NBA for a while. He’s in a huge market with a playoff team. Why would he leave that?

Donovan had 2 chances to coach here. That's one more than he deserves
that's what it would have to be. someone like Donovan or Stevens would be a home run hire. the other names i see thrown out, no thanks. I have been extremely critical of Cal, but realistically who else is coming to come in and replace him and it not fall off? whoever it is, recruiting will dip, then the same people who complained about one and done's will suddenly be complaining about the lack of elite talent. can't have it both ways.

He’s coaching the Chicago Bulls and doing quite well. So that’s very doubtful.

I’m not 100% sure he turned UK down twice before, but that’s irrelevant, because the money UK could throw at someone like him now, wasn’t in the discussion before.

If Cal wants to dig his heels in, UK is stuck, because I think that huge buyout isn’t worth the trouble. Let Cal stay until his ego says it’s time to move on. Then focus on the top 3-4 names and shower one of them with the $$$$. They’ll get one of them. Guaranteed

Yeah he’s in a “different situation”, an even better one.

He’s already turned us down twice, and is currently the head coach of a major market NBA team having its most successful season in years. What in the world makes you think he’d be interested in us?

It’s a moot point anyways. Cal’s crazy contract precludes any possibility of getting rid of him now.
