Grady and Mintz were both shooting pretty damn well during the year, then the last month idk what the **** happened..I dont get it man, just dont..
March. March happened. How many of Cal's teams go home because they suddenly can't shoot. The usual suspects like to say "Cal doesn't take the shots", but how many times does it have to happen (bad perimeter shooting, bad FT shooting) before it's a legitimate pattern?

You weren't saying these things after the Kansas win though.... You were all about uk and what March would bring..

The only thing they were right about was things changed when Duke took the best players. Did nothing with them either
Cal always sucked. Check my post history.

The metrics actually say Duke and K have underachieved the most of any blue blood since Cal got here, despite their two titles. Maybe that should tell people something about the nature of a one and done tournament.

Shut up about your stupid metrics.

We just lost to a 15 seed and Cal is making excuses.

Go ahead - defend him.

As long as CAL is our coach I will go into every season now knowing Kentucky isn’t going to seriously challenge for a title

I was a Cal defender. I apologize and now recognize my error. Feel like a liberal now with Joe Biden.

I missed this thread mixed in with all the others. This should make for some good reading.

He's peaked and it's glaringly obvious that he's comfortable and coasting. He's not recruiting to the level he used to. I'm not talking about class or individual rankings, I'm talking about what we're seeing on the floor. The talent isn't what it was. Sure kids are blue-chippers with draft grades, but there's just something missing. Especially at guard.

To his credit, he told us years ago that he was happy and really focused on the whole players first thing. Draft nights, max contracts, etc...so we really can't act all that surprised.

I'm not saying it's time to fire him...I'm saying it's time to plan an exit and start a rough draft of the shortlist of replacements...we'll call it a succession plan...2-5 years it's just going to be time.

I've defended Cal right up until tonight but will eat my crow. He needs to go. Absolutely inexcusable loss.

Overreaction. Firing Cal without a slam dunk replacement is exactly how you become IU.
Nope....what has Cal done lately that IU hasn't...IU won a tourney game this year....IU beat UK in the tourney the last time they played....hate to break it to you.....but UK is IU with Cal at the helm right now....reality is hard some times

Give me a break. The first four does not count as winning a tournament game. Their season was so bad they needed a play in game to get into the real tournament and they got boat raced tonight.

Ended at the same part as ours and Kentucky had the NPOY. Time to get ride of the fraud and move one. Rip the band-aid off before it gets to late

Listen pal, the hardest thing for you slurpers to learn is that some of us can see the trend BEFORE it gets to the 20 year point. The fact that you stubbornly refuse to accept it until it gets to that point makes you the WORST kind of fan, because YOUR type will RUIN this program for decades.

A change needs to be made BEFORE things turn to disaster. That time is NOW. Five years from now it will be too late. I understand that you can't see very well with your head up your *** but the truth still needs to be told for those smart enough to learn from your obtuseness.

I’m done!
1. Most experience we’ve had and still choked it away.
2. No to’s, no change in gameplan, nothing.
3. 7 years since a FF
4. 10 since a title.
5. Super seniors, POY, and get ran by f’n St. Peter’s.
I’ll always love my CATS, but I’m done with Cal. Tubby part 2.

You owe Tubby an apology. Tubby can coach circles around Cal during games.
Tubby lost games due to a lack of top talent. Not a great recruiter.

Cal has lost more games with top NBA talent than probably any coach in the history of modern basketball. Cal can't or won't make any adjustments to his offense or defense.

True! Nothing is gonna change until we have a better coach. Period!

Idk what to think right now . We have never had a loss this had in the Tournament so I had zero worries . I even figured we would come out of the half and turn it up . Once it hit the 10 minute mark I knew we were in legit trouble .

I’ll watch with or without Cal but I don’t see how anyone can defend Cal right now . I have been bout as neutral on Cal as you can be but damn this one hurt
I was beginning to be over him a couple of years ago and last year really got me, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt with staff changes and getting experienced players to mix with the frosh.

THis year did it for me. he's a just a talking head anymore to me. I don't believe what he says and honestly, I don;t wanna hear what he has to say. I just want him to leave.

Neutral

Would for sure make it known its final 4 or walk away next year .. but, with a Los like this and a fired coach, we could be looking at an Indiana type collapse..

..but also..

...some of the **** some are saying about him personally makes me realize they are miserable miserable human beings.

Known your for years on here. Can’t believe what I’m reading. Very disappointing.

You’re using the Gonzo mantra, the flip flop sandals mantra, catinville mantra. That’s a hella theme.

I would have assumed you would have definitely had enough and ready.

Ive defended Cal 100% of his time here, and have always supported him. But, I think it may be time for him to leave. Most of our guys just don’t come ready to play, and that’s on Cal. I’m ready for a change.

well damn. I’m proud of you.

If this guy here is done, then Calipari doesn’t have any left minus the spam guy who’s here legit spamming the board and this IU fan who goes by crazy2UK for whatever her names it. And I’m being serious.

I have been a big Cal defender. Tonight, is something that I will have to digest for a while. The play of some of our guys over last the 4 or 5 games compared to say, the Kansas game, has dropped off a cliff. I remember being amazed at how smooth and cool TyTy was during most of the season. He has been very average lately and seemed to be forcing things. Tonight , he was a liability.
Mintz, Grady and Brooks haven't played well for quite a while also. Wheeler has also had issues lately. Oscar has been the one constant and what a joy it has been to watch him. Somewhere, we lost our momentum as a team and that goes back to the coach. What happened, I don't know, but again it all goes back to the coach. I will support UK forever, but I have just been gutpunched and not sure who to hit back at.
This is ridiculous. You blame the guy getting paid 10 million per year who has the greatest program of all time and isn’t performing.

Calipari is done. We get it we all liked him but some of you have no stomach what so ever. Come on man get your head out of you ***. This is Kentucky.

That's a lie. VCU won a play in game a few years ago and went to the FF. Have a clue once in a while. It most certainly does count as a tourney win.

you were always right about cal

i was a close 2nd to you

I signaled my first warning shots about him after he said the draft was the best thing to ever happen to kentucky

after that, i never trusted him

surely not after 2013, and not after 2015, 16, etc.

its over for him here. this will finally turn BBN against him. too bad it couldnt have come sooner

MUCH sooner

as it stands, it will take another 4+ years for this to go down, and we wil have been far better off going ahead and paying the 60 million to buy him out NOW, before that eventuality happens, and he takes us slowly down to nothingness.

as if we arent already there

just get rid of cal asap

some people here just do not understand

Yes, technically it does. But practically it's a play in game. All these 16 seeds now have "wins" in the tournament, but the only name people care about is UMBC because that's when the tournament really starts.
