I like Stoops and UK football at least gives 100%. We are not going to win any national titles, get to any playoffs, win any SEC championships or even probably a SEC East title...but the SEC has UGA, Bama, LSU, FL, and soon to be OU & TX in football so that is understandable. If we can win 7-10 games every year that is way more success than ever before.

Cal has managed to not win in the SEC in basketball and also have losing records and lose to 15 seeds...so yeah, we are a football school now in terms of my passion.

STOOPS: Always ends up ranked higher in SEC than his recruiting classes.
CAL: gets #1 or #2 recruiting class IN THE COUNTRY and since 2014 has been NIT, loss to Kansas St, loss to Auburn w/o best player, 9-16 didn't make tourney

STOOPS: values PLAYER DEVELOPMENT.
CAL: values getting ELITE TALENT and hopes their athleticism is enough to allow for simplistic (zero) offensive tactics.

STOOPS: constant tagline to fans is, "we need everybody (fans, administration, etc.)."
CAL: berates and belittles fans lecturing us because we care enough to watch games on replay.

Biggest (only) positive about this game: fewer distractions as I try to focus on what's going on with spring football.

What Mark Stoops has been able to do here is nothing short of phenomenal. He has improved recruiting a ton over past coaches, but even so, we are still playing teams with more talent on their rosters on many weekends. It is the nature of this conference. But Stoops is winning. He's wildly exceeding expectations. I am proud to be a fan of the football program. It is in good hands. The coaches are doing things the right way. The football team has a program first mentality. It is all about family over there.

OTOH, our basketball program is in tatters. We have no identity. We have no offensive strategy. We have no heart. And it isn't about the team at all. Cal has taken this fine program and turned it into a daycare for a bunch of individuals. Everything about the program caters to the individual, not the greater good of the program. We get me first players playing in a system designed not to win games, but showcase individual skills. It is all about getting to the next level with little emphasis being placed on success at the current level. It is bewildering, maddening and it needs to end now.

I'd give anything to have a Mark Stoops type coach take over this basketball program. We need someone that is young, hungry and driven, not some guy who has become fat and happy and drinking his own ******** concoction.

I'm with you on that no matter what happens with the basketball team.
