Selection Sunday Randoms:
~ Not getting my hopes up for a 1-seed, but interesting the NET and KenPom still like us more than Kansas. We're ahead of Baylor in KenPom, too.
~ I think we'll see Tennessee as a 2 seed, making 3 SEC teams on that seed line.
~ To that point, how is Duke considered a 2 seed above Tennessee? Duke hasn't defeated a ranked team this calendar year, only has 6 Q1 wins, and has 3 Q2 and 1 Q3 losses.
Let's compare Duke's resume to Tennessee's:
1) Duke: 13 NET, 12 KenPom, Q1 6-2, Q2 6-3, Q3 8-1
2) Tennesee: 8 NET, 8 KenPom, Q1 10-7, Q2 5-0, Q3 4-0
FOH with Duke being within an earshot of a 1-seed. Should be a 4 seed.
~ Setting aside Alabama, Auburn, and Arkansas melting down in the SEC-T, I'm still high on our conference having a good NCAA-T. Confidence in the SEC dragged down because of Georgia, Ole Miss, and Mizzou. But the top 10 teams in our league are all good to very good.
~ Energy is what this team seems to be missing. Against Ole Miss, Florida, and Vandy, got the sense we knew our B effot was enough to win. Hope we can find that next gear starting Thurday/Friday. They will.
~ Expecting a heavy dose of the word, "Tweak!," from Cal this week....
