Why count Allen? He's never going to play.
Even if Allen doesn't return, Cal will find a transfer that can come in and contribute immediately. Clark apparently didn't feel like he could come in and get the amount of playing time that he wanted. So, if Clark doesn't feel like he can compete, why would anyone sweat it that he chose to go elsewhere? I know I'm not.

I want kids that WANT to be here AND can contribute. I also KNOW that Cal will find a replacement for him that more than likely is an even BETTER fit.

Because it's unfounded. And you didn't even say it in a way that was like "on the small chance could.."

Again, sounds like you're more wishing this to be true. None of this, and nothing during this season, really points to Cal leaving. It would be a pretty big shock to see him leave now. Last year at this time? Oh yeah, definitely could happen.. but not now. There'd need to be a lot more hints to this than a sub25 recruit leaving because he knows he's not going to play much.
I literally said "I'm not saying he is leaving, but it's always a possibility." What about that points to me wanting him gone or peddling a belief he was? I do think we are in the last couple of years of the Cal era, so it wouldn't come as a shock if it happened at any point. I definitely don't want it to because I don't think a good successor currently exists.

Some of you all need to learn how to rationalize.

Simply because I mentioned it as a possibility?

He is a SG/SF who will play on the perimeter shooting and attacking the rim off the bounce.
247Sports "Chris Livingston is a 6-5, 170-pound Shooting Guard from Akron, OH."
Tremendous physical build for a wing. Has explosive athleticism and can make plays in traffic. Loves to attack the rim. Has a powerful spin move to finish off drives. Shoots it well enough from deep but an area for improvement. Handles well in space but needs to tighten and refine his handle. Can deliver a pass on the move. Active player who comes up with balls off the glass and the floor. Has great potential as a multi positional defender.

But I'm sure you know better! 😉
Livingston can play on the perimeter but I think most view him as a SF/Stretch PF kind of player . I can’t see him being the 2 guard in any lineup .

Just like that, Clark wasn't that good and scared of competition.
Last week, Clark was a superstar for next year!

🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
That happens a lot but not in Clark case . Plenty of people have questioned how good he is . He still could be pretty good but don’t act like this message board was calling this kid a superstar . Maybe a few it damn sure wasn’t the majority .

Nephews, a run is coming. I can feel it. Between the NIL and the portal Cal is rejuvenated. He is loving this season. Go after the top guys, fill in as needed, use NIL to keep guys 1-2 more years. Perfect scenario for UK. I think Cal has 4-5 years left in him. It’s about to get real damn good.
I actually like what may happen. Cal should target top 15 freshmen and seek to fill out the rest of the roster with good transfers. I'll take a Reid Travis/Oscar Tshiebwe any day of the week. And hopefully, more guys will stick around with NIL, as you said. I like the balance between great freshmen and experienced transfers.

Surprising to hear this now.. but I remember a lot of us wondered if this might happen at some point anyways.

Skyy would have been a good player for us during the 2015 to 2020 lull. But now with Cals recruiting picking up and transfers, there's going to be better options.
I said he would never play here not long after he committed. No surprise. I got roasted pretty good by some on here for saying it though.

And mix in a Sestina, as well. Not expected to lead you, but a really good college role player.

I've thought this could happen. Not saying "I knew it" or "I called it." I didn't. I had thought about it.

Clark was going to be coming off the bench. And who knows for how many minutes. Especially if Sharpe surprised everyone and stays. If he doesn't stay, Cal is going to aggressively recruit transfers.

I wanted Clark with next year's group. Because I think he's a nice bench piece. I think he's a guy that can grow here over 2-3 years. I would love to get a guy or 2 like that every year to continue to have experienced/talented veterans on each and every team. Kids don't see themselves as that in a lot of cases.

Clark probably thought of himself as a 1 and done. I think he was the only commitment at the time, right? He committed to us in October 2020. There was no Wheeler. There was no Frederick. There was no Sharpe or Wallace. Now all of a sudden, he's returning from an ACL and probably the low man on the totem pole. And I get it. He's very talented. But I'm not sure his talent is to where it puts him ahead of several guys next season. BJ Boston and Khalil Whitney were very talented. Just not ready to dominate as freshmen.

I don’t think anyone would consider him a PF. And he certainly won't play that on next years team with Brooks, Toppin, Collins and Hopkins potentially on the roster fighting for minutes there. He is going to be a primary 3 for us who may slide into the 2 depending on if we want to go more physical and atheltic at times. He and Fredrick will likely split time at the 3. Fredrick will slide over to the 2 when Wallace has to sit or needs to switch to PG to spell Wheeler. When Fredrick isn't available, it will be Livingston that has to fill that hole.

You know everyone dumped on Boston. Put him on this team and I’d bet he would be as good as TYTY. Concentrate on 1-12 ranked guys and fill in as needed. The whole country can see how Mintz and Grady and Oscar have been embraced and loved by BBN. Who would not want to come here and have a shot at a title

We will see but I’m almost certain there is a way better chance Livingston ends up on the floor as the 4 in a small ball lineup than he is at SG.

Only time will tell .

Lol, who is going to coach with small ball lineup? Everyone here knows Cal would go 5 centers with no shooting or ball handling skills before he would go small. We had a great roster for doing it this season and haven't attempted it one time.

Win for Kentucky. Good luck to Clark and his entourage at his next stop. This would've happened sooner if he didn't get injured in Summer.

Trust my friend I talk to and this just proves why. When I get word on something, it's why I don't waver. Friend doesn't just share something daily or to act important, he shares what he knows and is told and doesn't make things up if he doesn't know. There's no reason to crap on a kid now he's gone. I'm glad he's gone and he wasn't a fit for Kentucky. But respect his work to come back from injury and hope he has a nice career.

Livingston weighs 220 lbs now. He is NOT a 2 guard. This kid is a strong SF with perimeter skills.

I don't know if he would be or not but he'd definitely be better, and more importantly, if he wasn't, it wouldn't matter, there is enough talent and experience to make up the difference. This team has won without TyTy. Last years team couldn't win with Boston.

This is why the OAD , especially to the point where Freshmen were getting the majority of minutes - and it got to the point it was so absurd we didn't even have a true freshmen, we had a senior in high school, starting at PG for the University of Kentucky - is a bad approach. We can have a team where a 5 star freshmen or even 2, are the focal point of the offense but they have to be supported by an entire team of experienced balanced players.

Cal lost site of that. It took a 9-16 season for a huge number of his supporters to realize it.
