Not going to lie, I've been saving cash for 2 years waiting for the market to turn downward and finally be able to take advantage of that. Not hoping for it but ready for it. But man, it's looking like a bloodbath right now.

* Anthony Davis' NPOY campaign wasn't historically great, even if he was. He just simply didn't need to be a ball dominant superstar for us to win. He never really got a chance to put up crazy stats. Thomas Robinson actually won the Naismath Award that same year. Yeah, it was a joke because we all knew Davis was significantly more talented, but Robinson did put up 18 & 12.

To that end......I do think Oscar has had a better season than Davis did as a freshman. He's just been so incredibly dominant AND consistent from day one.

* Just can't get over how incredibly deep and balanced this team is. Our 1, 2, 3, 5, and first two guys off the bench are about as good as it gets in college.

* I get married in a little over a week. We had ordered these fancy blankets to be screen printed with a cutesy personally designed logo to give them to guests. My lassies boss (who also owns a screen printing company) was going to do the work himself as a gift to us. He also happens to be totally absented minded and disorganized, so despite our pleas he waited to the very last minute to do the work. Didn't even open the box of "blankets" until today.....

......only to find out that he received a shipment of camo sweatshirts instead. 🤣 🤣

I'm trying so hard to keep a straight face, but handing out camo sweatshirts to our guests instead of the intended gift is so awesome and hilarious and.....Kentucky. I'm totally on board with this.

(note: she is definitely NOT)

* My dog, she kicked it.

Kansas fans are still trying to tell us how much better of a player Thomas Robinson is than AD.

I’m sure he appreciates reading those tweets and mentions riding the bus in the G-League.

Yeah, well AD’s career hasn’t equaled what I expected. I wonder what might have been had AD gone to a better NBA team. I feel like if you land at one of these teams you’ll just be in basketball purgatory for the first half of your career:
  1. Sacramento
  2. New Orleans
  3. Charlotte
  4. Washington
  5. Minnesota

Look on the bright side. Now is the time to buy heavily in Raytheon..

I’d recommend Lockheed of course but - HEY

Raytheon will soon have their fraudulent govt charging practices settled , no doubt

The merger hasn’t been a bed of sexual milk chocolate as they described it either - so that’s taking a toll

And Northrop Grumman probably balances in civilian / civil sector contracts and business opportunities better than either of the two

Those franchise are garbage for the most part. Charlotte though seems to be moving in the right direction. Sacramento has been a clown show for more than 15 years now.

I assumed Zion would have some health issues due to his size and the way he played. Meaning I thought that he would have some occasionally have a sore knee or foot but he’d still be a superstar. I didn’t think he’d eat his way out of the league by year 3.

War. What is it good for?

Watched a bit of the game in real-time and then the last 15 minutes during my overnight bottle service shift. Lulz at the last 2 minutes. Was tough to sleep after that anxiety.

Car shopping out of necessity. Hate it. Bought a new car right after undergrad and it was the worst financial decision ive ever made (student loans aside). Reliable, long mile used cars since then. But I need to upgrade to something larger. Drove a Highlander, Volvo XC60/90, and Audi Q5. Different proce points but Trying to find the right mix of safety/longevity. I dont want to do this again until the baby is driving.

I listen to quite a few current event podcasts and it was alarming to me how many Russian folks seem to be on board with whats going on. Obviously, there are detractors as well- but there is still a large cold war Russian outfit residing in a lot of Europe.

Billions has gone stale for me. Most shows do, I guess- but that was always a solid watch until the last 1+ seasons.

Scary new dad scenario.... what to do when driving with child in car seat and you have a bathroom emergency. Like not just having to take a piss, but a genuine emergency. Do you take the baby in a gas station bathroom with you? Try to stretch it another exit or two for a nicer facility? Whats the play here? These are things I think about in the middle of the night.

Also, had a recent conversation with a few guys about crime victims and how they identify people with dental records. Most times it leads me to thinking "*THIS* f'ing guy has been to the dentist?" Like sure they've lived on the outskirts of society and never had anything that resembles insurance or dental health but this guy has accurate dental records somewhere? What going on here?

My Russian colleague told me years ago that many Ukrainians are Nazis. And he told me last night that Ukraine is Russia’s Alamo. And he told me that we only get Western brainwashed news. So yeah, count him as onboard with this.

It's kind of wild how your otherwise rational parent mind tells you sometimes it's *FINE* to leave a baby somewhere out of your sight/protection if it's just going to be a second/minute/run in and run out somewhere. But, ultimately it's never a good idea and should never be attempted unless that somewhere is within your own damn house and you're not going any further than your yard. Because, yea, the potential downside is incomprehensible IMO.

We're on our second used XC90 and they're fantastic. Bought each with 100K+ miles on them for around $12K. Pay off and drive into a Bolivian.

I WILL SAY that with 2 kids it's just a bit tight, particularly for road trips. Otherwise, a great SUV.

Did you sick burn him with “The 1940s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back?”

Dude has lived in the US for 20+ years and is a citizen living a great life with a good job and nice family. However, the glory days for him were the early 80's when he lived in a Moscow suburb: "There was no want for material goods and Russians looked after each other." So perhaps a lot of Russians miss the Soviet days.

- We absolutely love our Honda Passport. Inlaws have a Lexus SUV and we think ours ride is much better. Roomy. Decently priced. Good-looking.

- Am I drunk on Calvoisier (tm) or could Toppin do an adequate-to-good job guarding Chet Bozler?

- Heard on the subway that the Ukraine is weak. It is feeble.

- If I had to just drink plain ol’ 93 proof Elijah Craig shelfers the rest of my life, I’d be fine with it.

- Booked the French Quarter Marriott because my pickyass wife knows for sure she likes their beds and pillows. Whatever. Is it close to the Krystals? All I care about.

You take the child in with you. The easiest is with a young child in the detachable carrier that you can simply carry with you and set in the bathroom. A toddler is a little more of an annoyance, but you have no other choice and the kid won't remember witnessing the horror as the grow up.

The amount of people who are younger that romanticize Soviet Russia is disturbing. This was a country responsible for some of the biggest humanitarian and ecological disasters the world has ever seen with little to no repercussions on them. See the Aral Sea and the Crimean Tatars just to name two. Seeing that the Russians have taken the area around Chernobyl makes me hope they decide to take selfies in the reactor.

Yeah is Chernobyl active again? Why is that a strategic target? Or is this the opening to a movie/video game where they know the monsters are rising from their radioactive tomb and they’re moving in to save the day?

If you look at a lot of polling since the dissolution of the Soviet Union a lot of Russians think they were better off in the USSR than after. That’s probably changed now due to demographic shifts and a younger generation that didn’t live under or remember Soviet rule but nostalgia is a real thing and is often seen wearing rose colored glasses imho.

Through all of this I've realized one thing: I am completely ignorant re: world history so far as Russia is involved. When it comes up in conversation, I just nod along and let the grown-ups talk. I need to brush up, man.

I would think Oscar has to be a consensus first team all-American which wouldn't seem like a huge deal until you realize the number of UK greats that were not consensus. There is only eight total. Beard, Groza, Spivey, Issel, Macy, Mashburn , Wall, Davis. That's the list. No Hagan, Nash, Dampier, Givens, Bowie, Kenny, Antoine, Rex, Mercer. I can't see how any basketball publication would not have him first team.

Unfortunately, they may have taken it because it’s on the shortest route to Kiev from Belarus.

And considering the context, I’ll add the 1932-33 Holdomor to the list.
