According to him, every play is a foul.
I'd like to hear more about that. I wasn't aware Bilas was tied to the PR campaign.Bilas takes being an obnoxious prick to levels rarely ever seen. Also never forget that him and his law firm were paid for "speeches" by UNC's PR company during the academic scandal, and then amazingly Bilas was the propaganda mouthpiece on Espn saying it was all good and no penalties should come down. He is scum

Wait.....wut?I was at the UK fantasy camp last August. I have been several years and it is mostly the same refs that we are doing SEC games every year.
Midget Pat Adams, Shows, etc. there is a dude that I like, short blond hair, but not sure his name.
Seth Greenberg was chatting off to the side and Bilas’s name came up when talking about who he works with.
This ref walking by says to me under his breath,
“Fu** Bilas.” So I laugh and catch up with him.
He didn’t say much more, just that most refs can’t stand bilas as he comes off so arrogant and blasts officials all the time.
I got a kick out of that.
Thanks for providing. After reading through it (maybe I read too quickly at lunch), I couldn't find any reference to Bilas being a member of the Cadalader Firm (did I miss that?). I see that they hosted him as a mouthpiece for their forum (obviously on behalf of UNC), but is he actually an employee of the firm?
"Cadwalader, along with Moore & Van Allen, will host an event Monday, May 9, in Charlotte to discuss the legal challenges that threaten to reshape college sports.
Guest speakers on the featured panel will review current legal issues in the sports industry; discuss the challenges faced by organizations, universities, and other stakeholders amid changes; and debate the merits of various legal challenges. Speakers include the following:
- Jay S. Bilas, Basketball Analyst for ESPN, Of Counsel at Moore & Van Allen LLC, and former collegiate and professional athlete
- Thomas W. Ross, President Emeritus of the University of North Carolina system, Sanford Distinguished Fellow in Public Policy at the Duke University Sanford School for Public Policy, and professor of public law and government at the UNC Chapel Hill School of Government.

"UNC also spent another $1.8 million to review, redact and then release public records requested by The News & Observer and The Daily Tar Heel, which is the student newspaper. The firm that UNC paid to conduct the most extensive investigation into the scandal, Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, received $159,000 of that amount for producing records for UNC, and the rest went to unidentified parties."
Cadwalader paid Bilas and his work colleague to give speeches. And then, like clockwork, immediately after that Bilas started beating his chest about all those ridiculous Uncheats talking points like "if regular students got free degrees too then it's cool" on Espn. Im gonna go out on a limb and guess that paid speech was basically an incognito bribe like we regularly see in politics. Thanks for providing. That much alone is a conflict of interest. Interesting. Thanks for posting.Cadwalader paid Bilas and his work colleague to give speeches. Maybe you haven’t noticed but he has a much more difficult time calling them out when it’s Duke involved.I agree that he talks too much about it sometimes but I like that he calls them out at least. Lot of other announcer see an obvious bad call and just glaze over it like it was correct.
Having said that, Bilas seems to focus on any foul we commit that isn't called and ignore our opponents often.
Most people don't like Bilas because he's a Duke guy, but the painful truth is, sometimes Bilas is brutally honest.
I kinda like Bilas because
1) he has always called out the NCAA for the frauds and cartel that they are
I'm sure he does, but I don't watch Duke games unless we are playing them. I clearly mentioned he doesn't always call it evenly.Maybe you haven’t noticed but he has a much more difficult time calling them out when it’s Duke involved.
Always? Hardly. When it comes to potential fraud by UNC & Duke suddenly he has nothing to say but it’s all good.
If you have a way to delay the TV so it will sync up to the UK broadcast you need to try that- I do it every game- seems they are about 30-60 seconds delay for meI just turn off the sound, try to listen to the UK broadcast but it is 10 seconds behind. So I only turn up the sound when I want to listen to something they say.
Then he probably wouldn't most UK fans either. He didn’t say much more, just that most refs can’t stand bilas as he comes off so arrogant and blasts officials all the time.

That's what's great about watching Open Tennis when McEnroe is calling the match. He keeps his mouth shut for minutes at a time. It's great.I am as tired of listening to Bilas as I am of hearing Buck and AIKMAN babbling. I think they should swap Bilas and Walton for a few weeks just to give everyone a change.
