They are 1-19 and 358th out of 358 in KenPom. They are allowing open tryouts to allow students to play the remaining conference games.
I remember we played IUPUI in 2003.
I'm with you. I've still got 4 years of eligibility left. I'm looking forward to all that NIL money to start flowing in!I'm on my way. I'll keep you posted on my status.
I remember that Jason Gardner took over the program for a few years too...name from the past at Arizone.Hard fall off a cliff since Ron Hunter took that team to the NCAA Tournament. Nobody in Indianapolis even knows they have a basketball program now. They shouldn't even be D1 at this point.
I think it's a requirement for all D-1 athletes.Do you have to be vaxxed?
Poor IUPUI; it's obvious that IU is sucking all the hoosier talent into Bloomington.Interesting that USI in Evansville (Univ. of Southern Indiana) just voted yesterday to go to D1. They're actually not a bad program.
Yeah, they would become infinitely better if they changed their name to PUI...Poor IUPUI; it's obvious that IU is sucking all the hoosier talent into Bloomington.
I remember during the game, they switched it to ESPN because of the Iraq war coverage.Yeah, Tubby put a beatdown on them in Nashvegas. We thought we were goin to win it all...then Bogans got hurt and Wade/Novak/Williams and Marquette happened in the Elite 8.
That was also the last year before seeding the 1 seeds as UK and Arizona were on the same side of the bracket and were thought to be the best two teams. Ironically both failed to make the Final Four and we got Kansas vs. Marquette instead.

They have some nice facilities. I walked into their gym earlier in the year while I was there watching a soccer game. My niece plays there.Interesting that USI in Evansville (Univ. of Southern Indiana) just voted yesterday to go to D1. They're actually not a bad program.
Cameras were at practice while students went 5 on 5 for the last few spots available on the roster.
I believe most of the tryouts would go like this….I'm shocked that the hundreds of basketball professionals here on Rafters aren't running off, enrolling and trying out. They know so much about how the game is supposed to be played - hall of fame coach be damned! Now's their chance to simply walk on and show the world their awesomeness!
I'd turn an ankle or blow out a knee walking in from the locker room..I believe most the tryouts would go like this….

Yeah, for walk-ons, practice players.Billy Gilliespie had open tryouts his 2nd year but that was for non scholarship players
I believe it was Rick Pitino his first year. This team picture always cracks me up. Looks like Hickory with only 8 guys.Didn't Eddie Sutton once have to go find some students to join the bball team in order to have enough practice players? I remember some discussion about open tryouts but that was shot down, as I recall.
Pearl won the Division II national title at that school in 1996 or 7Interesting that USI in Evansville (Univ. of Southern Indiana) just voted yesterday to go to D1. They're actually not a bad program.
