Had you rather have Sharpe

That makes no sense.

Id rather have him playing when we need him. Last night got very close. Had we lost that game and he didn’t play? Cal would be facing some ridiculously valid hard questions today.
I think if we close the game out strong with a 15-20 point lead cal would have played him if he’s gonna play him. Very difficult to throw him out there in such a tight game especially in a defensive battle

But I thin’ you have to if a Mintz fouled out. That was a game we just could not lose.

sitting on our bench not playing or beating us in the tournament on another team. I'm not happy with the situation with him but it beats the other alternative.
If Sharpe isn't playing college for UK then he damn sure ain't doing it for another NCAA program. The risk is the same at most schools but the reward is definitely greater with UK.

I just hope we get the opportunity to see him play some meaningful minutes for us.

I get the sentiment. But it requires a ton of assumptions.

First we have to agree he wants to play, would play, and Cal is just not allowing him to.

So if that really is the scenario, which we have no evidence of, then yes it's better to have him sitting on our bench than playing for another program we could possible have to face in the NCAAs.

I was actually gonna say, for as bad as OP worded it, and for as much as he's trying to make this a Cal thing where he's purposely not playing him... no one really knows now.

But yeah I think it's a stretch to assume this was all Cals doing. But I also don't know what to think anymore. This is just strange.

Your opinion of Cal must be rock bottom to believe that.
Nope. But I'm not as big a fan as I used to be.

And there is EVIDENCE of it. So there's that.

But you just keep on blithely humming along, looking up at stuff and don't pay attention. The rest of us will update you as things happen.

What evidence. I asked about this evidence earlier. I got a quote from the absolute worst source on the planet. An ESPN talking head.

No evidence is available to prove he is ready to play from a coach. Cal has not committed to play him or not. There was never any commitment to play him when he came early. He wasn’t even supposed to be here.

This is all contrived BS. You are not updating folks on what happened. You are among those bitching about things that were just fabricated in the first place.

The decision to play Sharpe rests with exactly 2 people. Sharpe and Cal. Period. Unless you have a quote attributed to one of them, you got nothing but crap.

Outrageous to play a guy who is not ready??
You're not that bright are you?
I want him to play but I'm not going to cry about it cause he's not. We have a great team.
How does he get ready? Maybe play him in a few situations where he doesn't have to make a play to win it for us. Just get his feet wet instead of being in a March pressure cooker right out of the gate. The kid didn't walk in off some backwoods high school team that played in a renovated barn .He came from one of the basketball factories
that have sprung up all over the country. If the kid can play, let him play.......... unless there is more than the game afoot going on here.

If he’s not playing here why would you even fathom the possibility of him playing anywhere else? I doubt you gave it much thought before posting this question.

He would be playing IF he were anywhere else. that is the sad part of all this. Cal doesn't want to be unfair to all the other teams, he wants to at least give them a chance. Players First extends to all players in the NCAA you know.

We don’t remotely know that. IF that’s the case, it’s a huge indictment against Cal. My guess is either Cal really doesn’t believe he’s ready to play yet or the handlers don’t want him to play. And if the handlers are in control of the situation that’s not a good look for Cal either. The bottom line is we don’t know the real reason he hasn’t played yet. At this point it’s nothing more than speculation.

Yes it is speculation, but I believe it is either a huge indictment against Cal or he is not in control of the situation. Cal is about the only coach who would take a kid and not be in control of if he played or not, Name another coach who would do that.

If Sharpe is certain to return next season then whatever deal or understanding between Cal and his handlers exist is fine and UK is not getting the short end of the stick. If it is Diallo 2.0 with a different outcome(he enters the draft this year) then Cal is to blame.

That’s exactly why we need to let the situation play out. We just don’t know. He might yet play this season. He might not, but might be here next year. It will be a very bad look if he never plays here. If that happens then I’ll place the blame on Cal.

I want him to play. Does he want to play? I have not heard. How can he just go "Coach Put me in." Hell he pulled Keion less than a minute after half." If he screws up so what let him play.
It's got to be up to someone. His camp keeping him out.

I agree with all you said, maybe I rely too much on recent history when it comes to Cal. I get tired of the yearly new drama that seems to be associated/created by Cal. I hope you are right and we see the kid play here.

No different than those that jump to conclusions when they have no real information other than that which they have convinced themselves to be fact when it’s really unknown.
There are supposed fans hoping he doesn't play though. How can you be a fan of UK and hope this kid never checks into a game? I'm not talking about you. I'm sure he's still a bit green but extremely talented. The unknown to me is the guarantee that he will not perform well. How is that known? What's wrong with trying him? I'm not losing my head over him.

I’ve never seen a single person say they hope he doesn’t play. Why would you even post that? I hope he plays this season and next. I can’t imagine any UK fan wouldn’t want the same thing.

You better look around. There are a few. And you should know them without even having to look.

Sharpe probably won't be here next season.

Interpreting what his trainer has said so far basically emphasizes draft stock; as in, if he's projected high, he'll be gone.

That’s not someone that wants him to not play for us. That is someone saying what they would do in his position. Not very hard to understand. If I was him and had the chance to guarantee myself tens of millions at the very least I would also enter the draft but what I WANT to happen is that he plays for UK next year because I am a UK fan.
