Does Pearl now OWN Cal?

Which was the whole premise of my OP. Cal has ALL of the advantages over Pearl, yet can't seem to dominate him like he SHOULD. It is EXTREMELY frustrating as a UK fan. For the past few seasons, Pearl has one WAAAYYY too many big games when we hook up.

While this is true BRUCE is the best thing that’s ever happened to us AU fans. Pat Dye, Shug Jordon & all other corches brought us back to football glory, but they had something to build on. I’ll go ahead & say BRUCE at UK, would be akin to the GOAT Saban at Bama & I truly mean that as a compliment to the BBN. Y’all gonna get another shot at us, maybe two & it will be glorious. Hate Ty Ty went down & that could have made a big difference. JMO

Well, using the logic that so many used when Cal was torching Pitino in the UK-Louisville matchups, it looks like Pearl has one-upped Calipari as of late.

It's life under the big top, a circus when Kentucky comes to town, odd things happen, fans crawl out from under rocks and their players will give their two front teeth to beat Kentucky. Then when the game begins the freaky things always start to happen, players going down and Auburn players you have never heard of become hero's making shots from everywhere. What is a foul on one end is not on the other and the announcers join in on the fun, some crazy sh** happens every time we play down there.

That Auburn team also blew out a one seed UNC team in the S16. They also would’ve beaten Virginia in the FF if an obvious double dribble was called. To act like that loss was some total disgrace is typical of the whiny immature brats on this board.

AGAIN 5, YES 5, NBA players on that team that beat this SAME Auburn team 3 weeks earlier in Rupp by 20+ WITH their best player.

If expecting UK to beat Auburn in an Elite 8 game or ANYTIME is being a "whiny brat" then why are we paying Cal $10 million/year?????

If accumulating future NBA players is all it takes to win then explain Coach K that year. He had two of the top three picks and three of the top ten. He didn’t even make the FF that year either. Two of the 5 players you’re mentioning were strictly role players that year that improved immensely the next year.
And to say that UK shouldn’t lose a road game against a team ranked 2nd and will probably be ranked 1st is amazing. That’s probably in the running for one of the dumbest things I’ve ever read on here.

Even when we run lob plays very similar to that when we have the personnel. Again, implementing a simple zone defense would be the remedy for this and many other games we have difficulty guarding. Plus, we didn’t really matchup well with Auburn, which is why there were so many double teams and help defense being applied.

I just don’t understand the logic of playing the same defensive scheme 40 minutes a game, every game. It would be like a football team exclusively either running the ball or passing the ball. If you play the same defense for the entirety of the game, these D1 teams are gonna figure it out and break you down eventually.

Seems that way. Every time we play them in a game that we REALLY need, he beats us. I STILL haven't gotten over the 2019 Elite 8 game we lost to Auburn with their best player hurt. Why can't Cal beat Pearl with one of our best players hurt?
