Welp, this post has become a bi-annual one unfortunately for me. Cats looked good, athletic and skilled.

I can’t imagine there is a better big man in the country than Tshiebwe. My God, what a monster.

I know Wheeler is a good one that didn’t play too but TyTy is a stud and UK has soooo much length that all they need is a little scoring from the perimeter to be a dangerous team. I really think this is a team that y’all should enjoy a deep run with. Probably not a Championship team imho, but Elite 8 or Final Four hopefully.

I will say that Vanderbilt University has systematically destroyed our program. That was the worst home crowd I’ve ever seen. Forcing mask and vaccine mandates was bad enough, now they won’t even allow their own students to go which robbed us of another 2500-3000 VU fans. Just such a politically motivated place, makes being a fan hard. I had to tell my son stories of how great that gym is for big games (I know y’all hate it but it’s a tough and loud building, or at least it used to be).

Cats probably had 70% of the fans and there were 4-5k empty seats. Embarrassing.

Be good, Old Friends. Best of luck the rest of the way, enjoy this bunch.

No clue why Vandy kept students out. Makes noooooo sense.

Got to say that sucked about the students. That’s what college ball is all about. Good luck the rest of the season beat the Vols

Kentucky played a terrible game because Cal can't coach. We should have won by 100.

Thanks Freida. Vandy never quit, you gotta give them some credit for that. UK was just better tonight.

Couldn’t agree more. I do have some hope for the future. I like our young guys (Dezonie, Dorsey, Thomas and Stute) and we have a top 15ish class coming in with some bigs and length but it’s been a tough year.

I doubt y’all know it but we’re missing 2 of our 5 starters and we just can’t compete without them (Chatman and Robbins, both grad transfers).

Good to see some old peeps!!!

Every campus in America is becoming a left wing politically driven place. It’s truly disgusting to watch. Speaking from experience, you are an outcast if you’re a young Republican. I’m sure I’m in the minority, but I’ve always liked Vandy’s gym. I live close to Nashville and I’ve enjoyed going to a few games there. You’re right though, politics killed the atmosphere tonight and I hate it.

Frieda, Pippen is amazing. Is he the best Vandy player in the last say - 20 years?

I can’t put him ahead of Shan Foster or Derrick Byars, Matt Frieje or Dan Langhi.

Pippen is a highly skilled offensive player though, but he’s not proven to be much of a winner. Regardless, he’s fun to watch play for sure. If he wanted 30 per game, he’d get it but still needs to learn how to make his teammates better, play better defense and cut down on turnovers. Hard to criticize that performance tonight though, he was really good.

We can't judge Pippen by his play against UK alone. He plays at a completely different level against UK. I knew he would go off tonight. This was his last shot at beating UK at Memorial unless he returns for his senior year, which is unlikely. This was his best shot.

Shane Foster! Couldn’t remember his name but his image is burned into my memory. That guy was a stud. Helluva ball player. No way I can put pippen above him either. Hell, even that big white dude you guys used to have. Can’t remember his name either. He was a beast down low

Thanks for stopping by, Friedas, always good to see you out here.

I think it is absolutely CRAZY that they had the students OUT for this one. I'm looking over other games across the country too, and USC @ Stanford .. WOW ... stanford crowd was a ghost... did anyone go to that game? I didn't see anyone in the stands AT ALL for that game.

It's a shame attendance is so down for college basketball.

Here's to hopefully getting a giant crowd in there for Tennessee and putting a whuppin on the Vols.

Well, Bilas said Stackhouse is one of the best up and coming coaches in the game, so I guess you have a lot to look forward to.

AJ Ogilvy minus Demarcus Cousins owning him was a load. Matt Frieje played the 3/4 but he could get buckets down low if needed.

Man, I miss not sucking…

Ha, he does a lot of things well but he needs to recruit better. Doesn’t matter how good you are at drawing up plays if nobody can make a shot…

I can argue either way with Stack..

To be fair, who did Cousins not own? Ogilvy was a good player. I’ve always like when Vandy was better too. But I just love good basketball. The cats are still good, but I miss being dominant

I think if we limit the conversation to point guards or lead guards, Pippen is definitely worth mentioning. His biggest problem while at Vandy, in my opinion, is he has lacked the supporting cast. You put him on a team like the Commodores had from 2010 to 2012 and he could have been a big time winner. As it is, he's stuck trying to carry his team against better opponents and he struggles with that at times.

I agree, and you’re on point per usual but he isn’t a good leader and that is a problem when you’re the best player. If he’s surrounded with better players, not a problem at all.

Not trying to sound like a hater because I love watching him play but there’s a reason he’s still playing in college. I hope he returns for his senior season, would be great to finish off his VU career with an NCAA team.

I watched Pippen at the end of the BYU game earlier this year (was pulling for you guys) and he was amazing! Pretty much single-handedly carried you guys to victory down the stretch. You kept going to him and, even though BYU knew it was coming, there was nothing they could do to stop him.

What happened with him here? I kind of get the vibe that he pissed everybody off here.
what do you mean by "here"......is he on the Vandy board as well? He only wants to talk here after UK loses.....like immediately after we lose he starts threads saying that Calipari sucks. He's never here when we win. Like never.

Yep, he was amazing. Pippen had 7 points with 8 minutes left in the game and ended up with 23. He was completely unstoppable and every bucket was within 5 feet of the rim. That was a fun game. Chatman being hurt destroys our offense (as you saw the other night).

No, I’ve only seen him post here. He’s obviously a huge UK fan but have seen him just get obliterated here by other UK fans.

I didn’t know if there was a certain incident.

Starting to think you’re the son he has referred to that has season Vandy tickets, lol. Have a good one. All in good fun.
