I haven't updated this page in a number of years but the below charts give you an idea of where the all-time wins lead stood when Cal took the job for the 2009-10 season (2010 on the chart) and how it's fluctuated since that time.
Remember at the time Cal took the job there was serious concern at the start of the season which team would hit the 2000 win mark first, UK or North Carolina. As it turned out, UNC faltered badly at exactly the wrong time.

I guess what I am getting at is Cal hasn't necessarily "cost us" the all time win record, if anything he has helped us gain/maintain the lead and it is more of Self/Kansas overachieving their historical results albeit by cheating for who knows how long.
Anyhow, based off your charts it appears long term this has fluctuated numerous times over the years between a few schools.
Regardless our win percentage is still significantly higher than any other program.

Yet, the record vs KU since Cal arrived is what 4-4 (1-4 last 5 meetings). So it seems like logic would say the talent is pretty comparable. But hey its just logic

UK already had a lead over KU and UNC when Cal came here.
And every record matters. Posters like you don't think the all-time wins matter, but that's disrespectful to players who earned us that lead.

lets face it their conference is about to get weaker and the NCAA will never ever touch Self. He is off limits he could go out and buy 15 players in front of the NCAA and they will not do anything. So don't expect any vacant wins from them the NCAA will help him and LSU, Auburn and a few other to pour it on Cal until he is gone.
If anything KU will rack up more wins in a conference where only Baylor fights for the conference title..

Thing is, this is one of the last things we had over anyone. Most championships? Not us. Most Final Fours? Not us. Most weeks in the top 25? A ridiculous thing but not us. Most weeks at number 1? Also not us.

Doesn’t seem to matter that much recently, or at least I don’t get to enjoy it much recently. Hell, after last season I go into most games just excited if we manage to win.

If Bill Self has an opportunity to push Kansas over the top on that day, look out! He will send a message to Cal. That’s the kind of guy Self is. Playing at home, with more talent, this one will be lopsided. If he has a chance to take the all-time wins lead, it may be very lopsided.
Self plays in a conference where he pretty much wins it on a yearly basis, yet never wins a national championship. Baylor won it last year, but it's been Kansas and not much else for the most part. We now have the SEC putting a little bit of effort into the bball side now.

Saw Kansas in person last weekend and wasn't that impressed. They gave good guards and wings, but are vulnerable in low post. I could see Tsiebwe having a field day, and assuming Wheeler's back healthy that game, he'll give them fits too.
July draft is not as important as January draft. The weather is much hotter in July. I prefer a hot air draft over a cold weather draft. You can get plenty of hot air on this board.
I pray I'm not reading about people blaming Cal on this. Last season, as sh1tty as it was, was clearly a one off for a multitude of reasons. Excluding that season, the man's averaging 30 wind per year. The reason the gap has been closed is because of dumbass BCG and Tubbys final years. That and the fact Kansas plays in a conference that they win almost ever year.
Nothing matters anymore. remember THE LIST? It doesn't matter anymore, either.
Let’s be real. KY racked up tons of wins in the SEC in many years when nobody cared about basketball, except us. I would like to see us maintain the record, but if not, it is not the end of the world to me. Besides, with TEX and OK coming into the league, it will get tougher for UK and much easier for KS.

If Kansas does not end up with any wins vacated I say screw it let’s just add in any of our wins vacated and call it a day.
Despite Kansas having a boatload more games played in history, along with a governing body that goes limp when KU or UNC does anything wrong but slams the viagra down when UK or Valdosta State has a little oopsie, they are just barely caught up to us in wins. That’s with us winning a whopping 9 games last year.
