How much longer does he have?. At some point big booster money will talk. At some point Mitch’s hand will be forced. UK fans are tired of excuses and the car salesman talking down to Ky and it’s fans. Will losing the all time wins to Kansas be it? Will not making the tournament be it? Will another 10 loss plus season be it? What is the breaking point? When is enough enough?

A realistic “breaking point” can’t come until we can afford his buyout. And we ain’t gonna be there for at least a couple more years, UK is in no financial position to pay the most outrageously high buyout in history.

Cal’s crazy contract extension for the most part ensured that he’ll decide when he leaves, not us.

You've been making this claim for 2 or 3 years now, you tell us!

You maybe right but the man who gave him that contract should be gone. Spare me the UK is great in all sports. We have a tradition under attack bc of Barney’s boneheaded decisions. We are about to fall to second in all time wins bc of Barney. We’ve already missed 3 tournaments with the guy as AD. You gotta take care of that first then maybe a new boss will run cal out or maybe they will find a way to motivate him.

I say he for sure has this year and next for near dead certain and I'm probably a tougher crowd than the folks that can make that call. Probably things would have to be pretty raggedy until even after the 23 season with bad recruiting or some scandal.

We are in year two of what is at least a ten year contract and arguably more.

If anyone thinks he is on some game by game quintuple secret probation that is probably less than realistic by a distance best measured in lightyears. He is not going to be fired during the season even if we go 0'fer for basketball reasons.

Who knows at this point. It’s crazy to think Cal’s most recent final four was closer to the first day of his tenure than to today.

Ultimately UK fans have become extremely divided like politics. Cal could win every game and some would still be mad. He could also slap players and go winless and pumpers would have excuses for him.

I’m oddly in the middle. I’ve overall really enjoyed his time as coach here. I’m also ready to move on to a different era. I’d love to see a coach that runs offensive sets, off ball screens, inbounds plays, uses timeouts to draw up a good shot for the hot hand, things coaches do that win games.

That being said I think we’re stuck with the mediocre product we have now for at least a few more years. So for now, just expect to lose to good teams and beat bad ones.

Keep in mind that the OP was once banned for a few weeks for saying that he enjoys getting people here riled up and that it was “too easy”. This was several years ago. @chattanoogawildcat was here that day.

The OP used to have Ale 8 as his avatar, says his son has season Vanderbilt tickets and the OP says he owns or owned a ministry. Picture a preacher that humors himself by agitating others....messed up on all levels IMO.

He can’t control himself and is back at it.

No doubt we have the dumbest fan base in American sports. UK is playing great ball right now and lost a tough road conference game to a decent team while battling severe injuries.
Agree. Blaming Cal for this loss tonight is just asinine.
Blame Cal for last season and the pitiful performance at Notre Dame this year fine.
But tonight they win with healthy TY TY and Wheeler. Besides that this team has been blowing teams out of late. People will say those teams aren't good. Well good or not. UK hasn't just been winning they been destroying them. Not squeaking by. But destroying them. Big difference. This team will finish top 3 with a great chance to win what most say is the best conference in America.
And they will be one of 10-12 teams with a shot to win it all in March.

The fact remains we have to get over the hump against Top 25 teams, but I’m content with last night’s result.

That had a different feel than the ND game, which had me wanting to jump ship. the kids fought hard and when you have no ball handlers, multiple big men (by necessity) on the floor and only Kellan with any gravity you’re going to struggle offensively. Idk what Cal can do about in game injuries…

I can’t believe people are actually doing this Cal is miserable stuff again. Yes - we should have won, but good teams lose on the road and we did so to the #1 Defensive team in the country without a lot of firepower available.

Yes I got banned by mods who like you 2 years ago thought it sinfully vicious to say something against a 10 million dollar man. I am sure they are having second thoughts after 9-16 as the losses continue to pill up. Truth…oh so hard to swallow.

Or maybe wheeler turns it over 8 times and we lose a different way. I’m not sold that we win with those guys. Cal took the air out and played stall ball. Who knows what he would have done otherwise
could be, Wheeler didn't exactly start out on fire before the injury
Cal is a lousy bench coach.......Grady hit 3 or 4 3 pointers in a row & he stopped getting the ball, but no time out to make sure that something was run for him to get a shot
gave up another inbounds layup last night while UK struggled to get the ball in bounds

even with out the 2 players, UK was up & Grady was on fire....not sure of the time but I think UK was up 8 or so
Grady did not score the rest of the game & got no more shots. Instead Mintz & Toppin took turns throwing up bricks or making turnovers. My problem is that there was never a time out taken to correct this pattern. LSU made an adjustment to stop Grady & the $10 million man made no adjustments. Any high school coach would have had Grady & Oscar on the same side of the floor to help eliminate the double team. The lack of coaching has been evident for many years & really shines in tight games
Just like the NCAA game against Wi when he let the twins toss that game away

It is pretty baffling that Grady catches fire, LSU adjusts and Grady suddenly can’t even get a shot, I mean a 10 million dollar coach should be able to outcoach Will freaking Wade. Even with the injuries we should have won that game.

Calipari isn’t going anywhere until he decides to go. In the meantime, fans should treat Kentucky Basketball for what it is……college sports. There has been a noticeable shift in attitudes of fans in general toward sports since the old 19 came along. My recommendation is to get focused on things that REALLY matter. You will be happier and someday Calipari will move on. Then we will have a new coach to complain about on message boards.

You are the guy that said ONLY old white guys won WW2 and saved us from the Germans. It is hard to take anything you say serious after that nonsense.

As for Calipari, I want to see our team at 100% health going forward with a PG on the floor and hopefully Sharpe playing before I write the final tombstone for this team and coach. My only real issue last night was the inexcusable 10/20 from the line as we have a veteran team that has played in road games before so it was disappointing to say the least. I guess we can bash the coach for not having a good 3rd string PG on the roster, but do not know how many college teams have more than 2 PGs.

We would have won the game if Wheeler had not got hurt...so a bit hard for me to freak out like so many of you pansies over this game. I am more impressed they kept it as close as they did considering no Wheeler, no Oscar for first half, and TyTy out most of the last half of second half. Not many teams are going to win a top 25 game on the road with 2 starters out at one time for most of the game. UT had some key guys out at Bama and lost a similar close game...doubt their fans (as dumb as they are), were this over-reactive.

Ohhhh, so you are saying that poor little you got banned because you voiced your dislike for Cal and it had NOTHING to do with you getting banned less than 10 minutes after you admitted that you start threads immediately after losses because you take great pleasure in getting under the skin of posters here and that it was "too easy."

I saw where Jim Baker was shamelessly selling a Miracle Covid Elixir. You should apply for director of sales.

Best thing I did was mute this biatch, reading this board became infinitely better immediately. You should do the same until he suffocates from having his head up Cals butt. He thinks you can't dare be objectively critical of this staff.
Ah so today I’m the nut hugger again.

I’ve been objectively critical of Call. Go actually read some of my posts. Some of you have a straight up agenda though and it’s obvious. Maybe I’ll mute you too you….how did you say it…..oh yeah. Biatch.

If they were to not make the tourney this season, that would put an extreme amount of heat in CALS seat.
He’d be gone if that happens and I’d be right there with you complaing (unless something awful happened like losing Oscar or major event).

To answer the original question .. Cal will NEVER feel the heat. He literally lives like a king and he thinks he’s God’s gift to the world. He’s a con artist that pockets 10 mil a year. His kids follow suit as well. They’re whiny little prima Donna’s that rally to Daddy every time the fans tell it like it really is. He has taken UK basketball to the point that we’re pretty good. UK basketball should be better than ‘pretty good’. All we can do is hope he leaves. And if that happens you can bet your *** he’ll walk away feeling like a legend in his own mind. Basically BBN is screwed with regard to Cal and our once proud basketball program.
