People upset with Oscar? He had to play the whole game nearly without the guy who gets the ball exactly where he needs it to be. TyTy is a good fill-in for spurts, but he's not ready to run point for nearly an entire game. Oscar still defended and rebounded. Heck he was 4-9 from the floor.

I know neither option is perfect. But Toppin had 14 pts - 8 boards a couple steals and was great defensively. With countless opportunities, you can count on one hand and have plenty room left over, the times Brooks has had that good a game in a tough environment like tonight.

Once Wheeler went out, it didn’t matter what plan Cal had, it was trash at that point.
We needed our guys to not lose their poise. They missed free throws… a bunch of them and they lost their minds when they had a chance to win the game.
Fact is, we did everything wrong and we were down our 2 best guards and we still should have won the game.
We just have to hope our guys learn from this, because this is the last game we can give away.

We finally adjusted without Wheeler and then Washington went down. We had no answers after that. With Washington on the floor we were able to get Mintz and Grady open looks. As soon as he went out it went down hill in a hurry.
It's hard to adjust on the fly when you lose that many key players. The lack of ball handling was glaring after that. Most teams are not winning this game with their two top guards out for as long as they were. Not happy with the loss but I understand. We almost beat a top 25 team on the road without our two best guards. The sky isn't falling.

the list goes on and on. I’m sorry but every loss has some factor/excuse. That means he has driven us to mediocrity bc that’s what those programs do. “It’s ok you get another do over bc wheeler went out and tyty”. Well let me tell you that’s friggin sports. We still had a much better team than LSU out there but cal couldn’t figure it out. Yeah excuse!

Well you knew we didn't have a point guard with Mintz, Washington is not ready to carry the full load. We have seen this in a couple of big games, we can't win without Wheeler, and for sure on the road. I never said we would have won with Wheeler but we would have had a better chance. I not talking about all that other BS your going on about but you are not going to win on the road in the SEC without Wheeler, FACT.

Tough loss but we lost Wheeler and we had a 9 point lead and was rolling but things fell apart. Made a great comeback to get within 1 and Oscar had the ball with 15 seconds left just rushed it made a bad pass. Otherwise we had a shot to win it.
I want to win every game but road games are tough. Let us hope Wheeler will be ok that is the main thing right now.

You have three benefits of going to hard dribble attack against pressure man defense. You have the back door.... you the drive and dish when help has to come .... you have the ability to rebound the miss when the bigs try to protect the rim and leave rebounding position a miss ....and you have a tremendous ability to draw fouls because of the combination of overplay defense and aggressive drive.
I know we were bricking free throws but when you stuggle to score for long periods from your set offense, the first you thing you try to do is go the line - ESPECIALLY when you are in the double bonus. You dont just keep banging your head against the wall running your set curl offense with no success and fingers crossed.
