Why was he dropped in the first place? Couldn't have been for lack of popularity since there's one of these threads every 1-2 months.

One of Byrnes few mistake IMO.

For what it's worth I don't think Flick would take it even if offered.

DS or HD, would you mind keeping this stickied, and showing the AD the final results?

He was dumped bc of Croom's ego.

Bring Flick back to the Hump.

Care to expound? I've never really heard a great reason why he was removed outside of his voice was too unique. I thought he did an excellent job at both sports.

Removing Flick was dumb, I'd love to have him back to welcome us to the HUMP for HOOPS and an evening of BASKETBALL, MISSISSIPPI STATE STYLE!

Yes for basketball only. Not for football. He was awesome in the Hump but his tone does not do well in stadium environment. I couldn't hear a damn thing he said at football games. Sounded like Charlie Browns teacher That was partly with the ****** sound system at the time as well as his nasal tone but we need somebody else at basketball and there was no one better than Flick to add his input during the gAmes. Need to start a thread on what nicknames he would use for our current players.

Yes. His voice gave it some uniqueness. The new PA guys are very forgettable. Secondly, I took more from his interviewing class than any other class I had at State. The guy is brilliant. I remember his stories about watching late night BET like it was yesterday.

Interesting take from an opposing broadcast team on flick....

No. Even when watching on TV you could hear his nasally voice cracking sometimes.

I had no issue with Flick myself, he was doing his thing throughout my MSU days and his voice always sounded like home to me. When I moved to GA (late 90s) I was listening to a UGA broadcast from the hump while driving around town. The UGA broadcast team went on about how awful and grating that PA announcer's voice was. They likened his voice to an old-time train conductor (alll aboard!)

I guess he has a voice you either love or hate! Incidentally, I don't think I ever heard flick call a three pointer. How did he do it? I can't see him doing the old "so-and-so for THREEEEEEE!

Hell yes.

Howland + Malik + Return of the Flick = Insane Atmosphere

We're fine on football with Craven, but Hank Flick was "simply the best" in the Hump. To suggest otherwise is moronic.

Problem is, as previous posters have alluded to, there's probably too much pride on either side of that fallout for it to ever happen. But one can hope...
