aw come on

there’s a lineage but the instrumentation is not present w/rap

jazz musicians feature some of THE best performers and instrumentalists out there (not all my taste BUT they’re generally excellent and they inhabit strange time signatures and use complex chord voicings and unique scales)

I think you misunderstood me. I was speaking more towards the sociological side of things.

Obviously, hip hop artists don't hold a candle to musicians like Bird, Dizzy, Peterson, etc. but everything else I said (I believe, as do many iconic jazz artists) is dead on.

Also, you need quash this insistence on interloping on my music takes. I've overlooked it for the most part, but you're pushing it. LOL

My goodness the ornery red head from Youngstown was getting fired up for this one.

BE THE MORE PHYSICAL FOOTBALL TEAM. YOU’RE A SEC FOOTBALL TEAM.

🔥🔥🔥

In the world of ornery, there are few as ornery as Belfry, KY’s Austin Dotson, and I love it. That game was tailor made for him.

This isn’t a new development, but I’m still shocked every time I see Louisville playing with DL the size of LBs. I just don’t understand.

Actually kind of glad we’re not playing a game today after reading that garbage. Good grief . I mean we all knew it was coming from Cal.

But yea seemed like for several consecutive years we always played UNC before the SEC title game.

Great slate of football today. May actually watch the B10 game tonight too. Crazy

Peak beach boys was good vibrations in the movie Blow

Today I will be dressing up in pajamas and taking professional photos with my family for all to see. That means that on this day in 2021 I officially have lost my manhood and become an asexual being to society at large

Frazier fur this year. We did scotch pine last year. They’re neck and neck imo but sitting around the tree this morning drinking my peppermint mocha latte makes the world feel grand.

GDit Cal

Just an FYI but Cal also has “experimented a little in practice” with playing zone, utilizing a press, shooting more 3s, and countless other things before anyone starts patting themselves on the back for acting like a negative *****. I’ll wait and see if we actually get it for more than 2 mins a game.

^ That is true, but THOSE things would actually be progressive/forward thinking.

Cal doesn't experiment with bogging down offensive flow, negating good spacing, crisp passing rather than dribbling the fvcking air out of the ball. These are the tenants of his basketball philosophy. (or so it would seem)

Well he's got a nice track record of getting as many bigs on the floor as he can. In this case we hoped he had moved on from that nonsense. Obviously, not.

We have guards/wings that would make Jerry Tarkanian soak that towel with drool, and we're going to end up leaving them in the stalls, while Cal hitches his wagon to plow horses.

We should just stick Oscar in the middle, overplay the perimeter and run other teams to death.

I'd give anything to watch an all out, full court pressure, score in 8 seconds or less, balls to the wall team.

Nolan Richardson would kill it with this squad.

Oscar is destroying it on the boards, because we take so many bad/short shots. (He IS a beast on the boards, but this team gives him a steady diet of gimme rebounds)

…and hanging out with Charles Manson

i always heard rave reviews about their production techniques on “pet sounds”

but never listened to it -
cause...how much better could it BE than “Dark Side of the Moon” which i discovered in rely HS

then people always raved about Brian Wilson’s song writing -

Ok - i guess

l think i knew at an early age that there was just something really foreign and inaccessible about bright /sunny california surf music

plus i think their heyday was probably 15 years before i was born

Just when you begin to think Duke isn’t the bastion for puss athletics…

I present for your review, the Duke ‘Men’s’ (pronouns?) Soccer Team:

Beach Boys were square honky nerds wearing matching outfits when the Beatles had long hair and dropping acid. Game. Set. Match.
I don't think anyone is claiming that the Beach Boys are in the same conversation as The Beatles. However, the BB did a ton of drugs, waxed thousands of girls, and had several good tunes. Not sure how anyone can hate on Good Vibrations or California Girls? Classic American tunes and perfect for a pretty summer's day.
