Didn't take long. Ruggs has been released by the Raiders. Likely going to prison. Typical Raiders 1st Rounder pick. Went ahead of stud WRs CeeDee ("s nuts) Lamb and Justin Jefferson. Their top picks are always reaches, head scratchers, or straight up bums who won't watch the film (F U Jamarcus Russell).

- Felt happiest for Freddie Freeman. Love it when a player stays in one place for so long and finally gets a title, (ir)regardless of the sport. I'm no Reds fan, but I'd really like to see the same happen for Votto.

- Sad to see Dusty seem to realize that last night was probably his last best shot at a title. With Correa possibly on his way out, and other AL teams on the uptick, hard to see that Houston team repeating as pennant winners.

- Wife binge-watched "Downton Abbey" over the past few weeks and finished it last night in time for me to watch Game Six. I'll probably get around to seeing it myself at some point because of GYERO recs alone, but man, that music stays with you. Nice listening while reading in another room.

- DQ sausage biscuits are a pleasant surprise. /fat

- (rare political take)....The correct reaction after a result like last night would be humble introspection and perhaps a pivot away from the issues that caused you to lose the race(s) and towards a different platform. But "blame voters" is, well, another strategy.

- I could listen to Vikingur Olafsson play piano all day long.

I have a couple crepe myrtles. We're a little too north (as B-rax so thoughtfully pointed out yesterday) to fully appreciate them but tbh I hang my hat on my snowball viburnums & panicle hydrangeas, FTW.

Pumpkin pie shots

Indicative of my place in life how excited I am about my new 6" gutters. Last week it poured I was out front watching the rain NOT spill over my sides. Happy camper!!

Sad to see there are many more racist white supremacist soccer moms in Virginia than we had originally assumed earlier this week. Turns out telling parents they should STFU about their kids' education wasn't such a hot idea. Who knew?

Soccer season is over for me and my U8 lassie. Team really started to 'get it' late in the season in terms of spacing and not just dribbling or kicking to kick. For just a rec league, seeing a kid 7 YO kid assess the field and make a decision based on what's in front of him is pretty rewarding. ATKOT.

Upstairs renovation begins soon. Master bath/guest bath is going to be gutted. Last major project before this sneaks in and becomes the 'forever home' to LSAT. No basement tho. Not sure I will be on board with that. Still :eyeballs: some lots in beautiful WOFOCO. Acreage isn't cheap in my neck of the woods but y'all know this.

Thought about possibly rummaging through the Goodwill and abandoned K-Mart parking lot dumpster hoping to luck out out on some bathroom tile but she's dead set on working through the designer. Whatever.

So these rumors about new gear Saturday night, what's the dill pickle? We aren't really going to square off against a traditional hated border rival adorned in bird sex logo attire, right?

-panicle hydrangeas are awesome... pollinators love em. We have a nice oak leaf as well.

-ninebark is a good "local" shrub...can be unruly, but beautiful all year. Red twig dogwood looks great through the winter months as well.

-most (if not all) holly isn't native to north America...love it nonetheless, multiple species in our garden.

-shrubbery.

Downton Abbey is incredible. SAE convinced me to watch years ago, and it was one of the better TV recs I've ever received, for a show I was certain would not appeal to me.

-Hardee's probably has the best actual biscuit, but DQ Biscuit sandwiches the best in the game overall imo, as I've mentioned several times. Fresh egg, great biscuit, & just a higher quality sandwich all around, imo. Also, The Ham/Egg/Cheese is a nice change up.
