The fact is we really don't know crap yet

Ideal scenario- he shows up in a few weeks and gets settled in, starts practicing and working on skills, hitting the weights, etc. Then either doesn't play at all or comes off the bench in the second semester. Enters his name in the draft (I think he'll do this to get feedback whether he intends to stay or not) and then decides to come back to aim for the #1 pick in 23'. Don't see how anyone but Duren is the #1 pick this year.

It’s KSR trying to stir the pot. I believe he’s playing next season until Sharpe says otherwise. We don’t even know for sure if Sharpe is enrolling in two weeks.

I’m done with KSR, their articles lately seem to be trying to drive a wedge between the basketball fan base and the football fan base. When they should be pumping up both sports to get hits on their site, instead they put out trash like they have been lately
Hint: They've always been trash

It's and. You have to be 19 by the end of the calendar year the draft occurs in, not 19 by draft day.

calendar year makes more sense. but i’m still not seeing anywhere where it specifies you have to meet both of those requirements.

plus it’s nba personnel saying he’ll be eligible.

it doesn’t say that anywhere in there. if it’s both, explain MKG and Kevin Knox.
You have to be 19 by the end of the year you are drafted in.

There are a lot of kids that are 19 the day they graduate HS. Why don’t they go straight to the pro’s if you just have to be 19?

Not necessarily the hottest of takes, but I think if he does play this year, it is very possible it will cause division in the locker room. Somebody is going to see their minutes either cut to nil, or pretty close. Now, if say Fredericks continues to be unable to play it would open up a spot, but somebody would still get much fewer mins. Probably Allen. It could be great and make us the favorite, or it could backfire.

Nobody knows a damn thing, everyone is just guessing. But this puts a massive hole in the 2023 class. Great...
Yep, and if we lose out on Bona, it will be even worse. A class of Clarke, Wallace and Livingston is still really good, and if we are coming off a title, then it would be easier to take.

The guy would be enrolled at Kentucky for the whole 2021-2022 season and would be 19.3 years old on draft day. Do you really think the NBA is going to deny him eligibility? This isn't just some chump trying to get in either. It's a possible top 10 pick. I'm sure the NBA would welcome him in if they can find any loophole.

Just not sure the NBA is going to change their rules regardless. I also forget what the requirements are, but they don't usually bend the rules for this sort of thing.

I said in the other thread he was making moves to accelerate his NBA jump. I was told it was impossible. Weird.

Anyone wondering how this can be happening can start looking into credit recovery. You can literally get a year of credits in a few days. It's a scam of course but allowed.

Matt Jones kept referring to Sharpe as the number one player but I thought if he enrolls at UK that would basically mean he moved up a class? Jalen Duren or Emoni Bates are considered the number one prospect in this class. Even Biancardi said that was one of the main reasons why Sharpe got the top spot in the 2022 class

"U.S. players must be at least one year removed from high school and 19 years of age (by the end of that calendar year) before entering the draft.”
hope you’re right. but i don’t see that anywhere in that article and can’t find it anywhere official.

Guess things will work out but will this open up another can of worms where someone will come and not play a game then go to the draft as some have pointed out ?
