Man, that frigging sucks. Vitale has always been front and center when it comes to doing work for the Jimmy V Foundation for cancer research. Now he's having to fight the disease himself. I send him all my prayers and best wishes. I hope the old fella can kick lymphoma's ***.

I remember how entertaining he was when he first came on the scene. Everybody watched him. Everybody did imitations of him. Then when Jimmy V died of cancer, we all got to see how much it effected him. I never thought he was the same. And now he has it. How ironic, and sad, that people can't wish for, or pray for a man who has meant do much to so many without others getting snarky little digs in. Some of you people live miserable lives. When my Dad passed from cancer, I wept like a child because of the pain he was in, and there is nothing you can do to ease it. God bless Dickie V for all the good works he has done.

I love the emphasis on prayer. I work in a public school, but when my students tell me they are going through a hard time, I always respond by discreetly telling them I will pray for them now.

They usually respond with a look of surprise and gratitude.

Cancer doesn't discriminate, no matter what age.
I'm hoping he can beat it, but it's going to be a long, draining fight.

Why even add the little negative bull crap to posts? God bless him, and I hope he recovers.
This. The man has cancer. No one cares if you listen to him or not. good grief if you’re gonna pray for the man do you really think the lord wants you qualifying your prayers by stating “now God, I never listen to him but…”

Gives Christians a bad look imo and as a Christian I don’t like that.

I think people get so caught up in their own ******** they don’t even realize how nasty they’re being. I’ve been there myself. This world needs more love and compassion, regardless if someone shares whatever belief or agenda they may have.

Dick Vitale has been an ambassador for College Basketball for decades and has also done a tremendous service in raising money for cancer and making people aware of its devastating effects. Lymphoma is definitely something that can be fought, so here's hoping and praying that he wins this fight and fully recovers. :)

He definitely has been a great ambassador for the Jimmy V foundation. It’s sad that he has ended up getting cancer as he’s helped the fight against it so much. At least all his hard work may pay off in his survival now.

Growing up watching games on espn, he brought a smile to our faces and we all tried to imitate his persona.

Hope he gets through this and continues to do some big games on television.
