If we don't get Bona we won't win the Championship. I don't care about a kid coming from another school after his 3 years already in college. There is a reason they still ain't pro. Plus we had them before. UK is at it's best with real talent.

There's a lot wrong with this. Firstly, the transfer portal isn't just for grad transfers. Plenty of good underclassmen used it last season.
Secondly, I believe time will show that Bona isn't polished enough to dominate in such a way, as a freshman, to decide a championship. You pick up a guy like Wahab from Georgetown, as Maryland did, and you're in good shape. Far better to have elite guards and serviceable big men. And more guards than big men.
I believe you overestimate Bona and underestimate what may be available in the portal.

no other coach in UK history was paid 10 million dollars
the other coaches were concerned about winning titles @ UK , not how many kids went to the NBA
If you honestly do not think Cal is interested in winning titles then I do not know what to tell you. If you will take the time to check, you will see that the university itself does not pay Cal 10 million dollars a year. I know you will say that I am looking through blue colored glasses and, I probably am but if I may ask, what color are your glasses?

Visiting UK Oct. 1. Then UCLA later. Don't like that but it is what it is.
McKnight said he would arrive in Lexington for his UK visit Oct. 1. The UCLA trip is expected to come later in October. There’s no set timeline for his commitment, but Bona could make a college decision before the end of the early signing period in November.

doesn't matter where the 10 million comes from...…...he still gets 10 million to coach UK

After last year, my glasses are clear...…….a total eye opener that Cal had no control over the team, his offense was horrible & he refused to try different defenses. A nine win season, he could have tried anything, but his arrogance wouldn't allow it

I did use to have blue tinted glasses, but after Pitino left, the Tubby debacle, and then Billy G.....I stomped on them

Hope you are right but I bet we lose him. Cal might have shat the bed with this kid.
I won't be right or wrong. A friend of mine who is a significant UCLA booster and has nailed other stuff involving them through the years is the one saying Kentucky will still get the Bona commitment.

As for Cal, he didn't do anything but recruit Lively. If he hadn't, all those saying he messed up with Bona would have been saying he messed that up. So, I'm not sure what people wanted him to do. This board can be pretty irrational.

If all you are going to do is criticize on a daily basis, why continue following? You seem to be posting to show that you hate Cal and the program. You can stop, we all get it. I have been a die hard fan and have followed the Cats for over 50 years. I have been upset beyond reason many, many times and with every coach but I have never reached your level. I have never felt the need to spew nonstop criticism at every aspect of the program. I hope you can get past it man.

That don't mean ****. We had all of the picks for Lively, too, up until last Friday.

Recruiting momentum can turn on a dime.
Only the uninformed thought Lively to UK was the case. When he suddenly decided on a day I will say I thought there was a small chance something had swayed him, but other then that I tried to tell everyone here all that was being talked about was him with the fellow Duke recruits.

We didn't have the momentum with Lively. He was a Duke lean. Days before he sets a date "info" gets leaked to recruiting insiders to create the storm we saw. It is done just to rub Cal's face in it and to stir the fan base. We are the most active fan base by far especially when it comes to recruiting in the off-season. This is the only way they can generate clicks on their "content".

Just once I wish we'd plain ignore them and let the air out of their little game.

this is a message board, whether you like it or not, I have the same freedom to post as you do
if you don't like what I post DON"T READ IT, pretty simple
If you choose to believe Calipari is a saint, that is your right. If I choose to criticize his arrogance & screw ups, that is my right

I don't get Bona not feeling the love or being a priority. Teams regularly recruit multiple guys for a position because otherwise they could be left empty handed. It wasn't personal and I think Cal will explain this and ultimately ease tensions.

I think some of us got too hopeful over Lively saying AD was his favorite player.Looking back now it's obvious he was always a Dukie.
My thinking exactly. Was just thinking this at work last night. I believe that a guy’s favorite player should be taken with a grain of salt anymore. Hell, even “dream school” should be taken with that same context. At the end of the day, there’s just too many outside influences for these kids.

The only thing I think might be different.. is that the recruiting insiders may have actually thought Lively might be ours and/or got wind of this monumental change and rushed to be 1st.

I still think this was a Coach K move. He's done it before, and it was perfectly timed. He did it to create buzz for Duke, while also putting a stop to ours, with maybe a bit of spite towards UK/Cal in there.

Not that the recruiting guys are innocent. They should have waited instead of rushing.. but the real issue here is Coach K. They got some info that they thought was legit, and ran with it.

You almost sound like you hope they lose him. Wonder why
What a stupid thing to say. Are you about 12? Have you noticed over the years how Cal recruits different kids. Apparently not. His stubbornness has cost us in recruiting and games.

Their magically delicious. Btw how long for cancel culture goes after lucky charms? That will be a sad day lol
Reminds me of the old Eddie Murphy skit about Buckwheat's family: "This is my gay brother, Lucky Charms. Standing next to my sister...she's a prostitute: Trix."

maybe so wasting time with the likes of you who believe that Cal can walk on water & is perfect in every way

Show me where I’ve said that one time? The only thing I’ve ever said was Cal was the best man for the job, as long as last year never happens again. If last year happens again, I’ll be the first to push him out the door.
