No I agree, you absolutely keep recruiting for a class that isn't on campus for another year. I'm just saying there's no reason to come out and tell Clark he's not your guy, encourage him to look elsewhere, etc.

You recruit Wallace, hopefully land him, and then Skyy can make his choice. Don't need to push a guy out the door before you're sure his replacement is on board.

Yes....but the easier thing to do would've been clear the deck for the new staff to select who they want to recruit. They had offers out to the elite guards that UK wasn't in on the past year. Illinois was all over TyTy Washington prior to UK even knowing who he was, Kentucky knew Cason Wallace, he played with Daimion Collins last year in AAU ball and as Cal asked Staff when Jai Lucas brought up Collins "why aren't we recruiting that guy?" I'd have hoped that would've been mentioned then as well. Illinois had already offered with O/Chin.

Just have to hope this goes down like TyTy Washington's recruitment.

Cal's #1 job is to put the best team/talent he can on the court and recruit it to Lexington. He can't worry about feelings. Big time programs are always looking for someone better and it's not anything different here. If he loves BBN, he'll come and try to beat other guys who are more talented out. Then he can try and fight off the next wave coming after that. It's big time basketball, not a mixtape of playing in a Pro Am against Dunder Mifflin Warehouse team.

The biggest thing is UK has a legit shot with the #1 PG (Wallace) from a state that has been great to Kentucky (Texas) and with a player who was offered by O/Chin at Illinois last year and Jai Lucas has coveted since he got to Kentucky. Last year btw-he played with Daimion Collins on same AAU team. So Lucas has known of Wallace/wanted him offered for some time. Now he's got the offer and UK has a strong chance to make a serious run to land him.

Wallace is a combo that can handle the ball in spurts he’s not a full time PG but he is an exceptional player that looked great at Peach jam he hit his stride at the perfect time and deserves all the mentions that he gets.

I read this thread hoping to find out where we stood recruiting Wallace and our chances of landing him. Instead I read a page of people insulting each other and talking about if Sky Clark ( who we already have) feelings were hurt.Does anybody actually know where we stand with him and who we are competing with to get him or we just going to call each other idiots ad infinitum

This thread is pretty old. At this point we are considered heavy favorites for him. Every crystal ball, every insider that is too cool for crystal balls says it's the Cats. Almost a lock.
