* Did anyone watch White Lotus? I laughed so hard at many things in every episode, but I found little to laugh at during the season finale. All in all I enjoyed it, found it hilarious, and I’m glad my favorite character, Quinn, triumphed in the end.

* Late to the soup discussion, but it is homemade vegetable beef, hands down, and it is my jam. There are two things I make that friends/family rave about: vegetable soup and chili. Woodie Sloot is right. Butter crackers with veggie soup.

If I have some, I like to add some shredded cabbage to my soup. After the soup simmers a while, it dissipates, but it gives a great flavor and adds lots of extra nutrients.

* Heading to Alexandria this coming weekend. My newest grand is getting baptized. They postponed it for a while because of Covid, so she is 8 months old. We will see how she takes to having water poured on her head. She has quite an independent personality! 😍

* I am so excited for football. Go Cats!

The finale was meh but they fooled us on the death.

- The parents would have got off the flight to get the kid(Quinn) so that part was ridiculous.

Evolution of GYERO: escapades with fatties, hook-ups and drug stories, PCC, drunken tailgates, a few getting married but not really settling down, road trips, experts on pizza, kids being produced, transitioning from cheap seats to loge seats, vaccine debate and now…..

Foreign policy debate.

-Was really pumped when we got Gatewood but after watching him play I figured he'd never get back out there again. He just looked a step slow. He'll be fine, transfer to a Florida school and tear it up, buddy. Cleans up the QB room with a quality back up plan.

-That banana video makes me nauseous.

-Rain. Enough already. Can I get a week of 85-88 with no precip?

-Another HS buddy passed away. This time the brother of one of my best friends. Really good dude, too. Classes around me have been decimated.

-If you want a break from the world check our Vuelta a Espana on Olympic Channel. Headed to the mountains today.

-With nothing on TV yesterday am I found myself watching Tottenham vs Man City. Entertaining, just happy it didn't end in a tie.

-2 shows right now are Lasso and After Life. I've found myself using "f*cken ell" and "cheers, mate" much more often.

-Kids are divisive little bastards sometimes. Just utilizing their cuteness to negotiate with unapologetic shrewdness.

-NFL fan is disgusting. That's nothing new.

-Ryder Cup. LFG.

- Allen was pretty far behind Gatewood all spring, summer and into fall camp. We did the right thing by Gatewood in letting him know ASAP but saying him and Allen were neck and neck for the backup job seems like a bit of a rosy cover for Gatewood bouncing.

- With rare exception, soup is awful.

- Yesterday was a great day for golf viewing. PGA guys fighting for the Top 125, KF guys going at it to be in the Top 25 and secure their cards for next year, US Am, ... good stuff.

Like we all have I’ve here nothing but good Levis stuff since he arrived a few months back. Not just the arm stuff but the leadership intangibles when it came
to setting up the voluntary workouts.

I wish Gatewood the best. Seems like a great kid and I hope he finds a spot where he can play.

Not totally sold on Beau Allen. Dude needs to put on at least 25 pounds of muscle and he’s never played against any decent competition. I hope he bulks up and progresses with time but it would be nice to get at least 2 years of Levis so Allen can come on gradually and be ready to go by 2023.

Vacation randos:

Catching up, what a crap last 20 pages, grief.

Last week in St John was awesome. Our house on the side of the mountain with infinity pool overlooking Klein bay was majestic. Currently for sale if anyone has an extry 4.5 mill laying around.

Tropical storm Fred messed up our boat day, but blazing sun the rest. Hit up Trunk, Cinnamon, and Maho beaches. All just amazing.

Only real downside was bunch of restaurants closing down from lack of workers, cancelled a few of our dinner reservations, but we survived.

Travel at the airports…nothing hardly open. Nobody wants to work. Better pack some food if you have a longer destination. Sad.

Congratulations Will Levis. Get it done.

Wife makes a Tuscan soup that is phenom. Also enjoy a good vegetable beef, she crab, or lobster bisque.

I love when ******** talk about what happens in the season finale of a show I haven't seen yet!

Sorry, 80. I sincerely apologize. I also hate it when people spoil shows I haven’t seen yet. I deliberately tried not to give anything away by being vague, but I guess I failed. 🙃

  • Not sure that "doing the right" is telling a kid that he's second string so he'll transfer. We're paying Stoops a lot of money to win, and that means having depth. Plus, with NIL or whatever it's called, Gatewood can make some money so this is a professional environment.
  • Levis doing stupid **** like eating a banana skin and all is just dumb. Go work on understanding the playbook instead of making TikTok's, clown.

- Beau Allen's hairline is problematic.

- Made tikka masala over the weekend myself. Didn't slap it on a pizza though, for pete's sake.

- Found myself watching the Brentford/Arsenal match on Saturday. First Premier League match for Brentford since the year after my dad was born. I still don't care for the on-field product, but I'm still intrigued by everything that surrounds European soccer....the crowds, the history, relegation/promotion, everything but, you know, the sport itself. Still....very cool scene to see those fans' euphoria, especially pulling the upset over such an established club.

- Because I'm at least six months behind on everything, I finally started "Mare of Easttown" over the weekend. Only three episodes in, but such a great production so far. Like "The Killing", but leveled up a bit.

- I'm never buying another national CFB/CBB preview publication again. The transfer portal and late reclassifications have now made them completely obsolete.

They had 20 years to get their **** together.
I doubt the person who thought it was worth trying to ride a plane wing out of the country had much say in how things were handled the last twenty years.

The ones who did were evacuated in a convoy with bundles of cash on hand. The ones left to be killed or join the taliban are just like me and you except they had the misfortune of not being born an American

-"mushroom hunting" Saturday in Nelson County/Larue county with the whole clan. Didn't get murdered so that's a plus. Friend of a friend thing...not sure I'd do it more than once or twice a year.

^private farm. 500 ft elevation drop down to a dry creek bed, 5 miles in creek bed/bottoms. Then 500 tt up at roughly a 53° slope. Lungs fine...calves unhappy during the climb, fine afterwards. Found some cool fungi*, rocks and fossils. Most importantly it got the kids in the woods for a bit.

*The hnic(head nerd in charge) found a fungi growing out of a grub under a log. He was pumped as he'd never found one prior. The fungi controlls the grub's brain. Weird. There was also a "mildly psychedelic" variety found an a rotten stump. Not sure who took it home.

-saturday evening: eppings for group bday dinner (me, wife and bil are within 6 weeks...and we're adults so one celebration is plenty).

^fantastic meal. Small plates on point. Pleasantly surprised as my two prior experiences (pre covid) were meh.

-sunday: hanged doors in basement. Three sets of very competitive doubles over 2.45 hrs. Outdoors. Hosted a 10 person dinner party. REM/smiths/bunnymen on the turntable. Mussels provencal and a batch w/chorizo/peppers/smoked paprika etc. and tequila. Crusty bread, caprese.

-zero minutes of tv time...which means tonight we have a fresh lasso* to watch to cure our "case of the Mondays".

*Please don't tell me what happens, Terie.

BLTs last night for a small Sunday Dinner. 2 things left a bit to be desired. #1. thick cut bacon is absolutely required. #2 I didn't realize we had a jar of Duke's in the pantry so whatever Whole365 organic BS was a couple notches below. The heirlooms made up for both slight miscalcs. Those puppies were ON POINT.

Counting Crows Concert Review:

- Beautiful night on the riverbend - one of my favorite parts of town. Seeing a show is always a rite of summer for dad and brings back wonderful memories. Love getting there a little early and milling about the paddock area, having some brews - approximately 4 cans and 100 oz of Bud Light actually- people watching. Wife and I enjoyed some quality time away from the stresses of parenthood.

- Fairly light crowd for a really popular band back in the day. For instance, saw Marchbox 20/Goo Goo Dolls maybe 7 years back and they easily filled the big venue. Older crowd- naturally mostly 40-somethings. Hardly any 20-somethings or teens.

- Great seats in PNC Pavilion - which is the only way I do shows or ballgames anymore. I’m too old and established for the cheap seats.

- They came out playing good songs - Mr. Jones, Round Here, Mrs. Potters Lullaby- but Duritz for some odd reason decides to F with the arrangement on every song. “Anna Begins” - completely unrecognizable. Does some singsong ******** so there’s no way the crowd can sing along with anything. No idea why he does this. It’s incredibly annoying.

- Have my summer concert in my belt, time for sweet, sweet fall.

-Well I try and keep this place alive and waxed the 40 year old again last night. Yes I’m 39 whoever asked. I just play my role in here and act like a 22 year old douche.

-Preztel unfriended me on IG 😢 guess some people think this place is real life.

-CNN was praising the taliban for wearing masks while beating women and subjugating an entire country. 😂. But this vaccine is what you losers are worried about. Still not vaxxed, had Covid and delta, fake vax card, lick my balls. I’ll continue to remind you no worries.

Thankfully you’ll forget those posts as they get lost in three pages of other crap- assuming rogue has had sex recently.
Last night bruh.

Yeah just go put on 25 lbs of muscle no biggie. Besides that’s impossible in less than 2 years at that age. How bout you lose 25 pounds of fat if it’s that easy?
