I’ll bite. He’s properly rated, he’s one of the 5 best NBA coaches of all time. And he’s also an *******/jerk who constantly calls other people out when they act like an *******/jerk. All can be true.

Also, people can tolerate it when winning big like he did 10-15 years ago. They tolerate it less when stop winning like last 2-3 years.

I couldn’t GAF less about the ******* stuff. Doesn’t bother me, but whatever. Talking only about coaching acumen and the silly kneejerk commentary so common today.

Well considering my original post was about him being an ******* you seem to GAF as you have posted numerous responses.

The one thing MLS does that other leagues should copy is the Designated Player. Give every NBA Team one DP slot that they can go over the cap and sign to any number.

There’s only 30 of them, and you better get it right. But that feels like a potential fight against the super teams.

ITT tell me I’m an idiot for this idea but please show your work.

I'm trying to see how that would work, but I don't see how that would help fight against super teams. Are you saying that since the best dudes don't go against the cap, there would be basically 32 "unlimited" salary positions in the NBA (one per team) so stars would just try to seek those spots out?

Well, as has become a tradition for me (for better or worse), I watched in awe at my rockstar wife make labor look easy while reading GYERO to get me through the slow parts. My first I read about how we needed Fox to come back from injury if we wanted a run at the title in the middle of the night, my second I read about Herro calling himself a bucket, and my third I read about Rogue bragging about being the 50th dick inside a divorcee and then insulting another posters beautiful wife. Though the reading was a bit shittier the end was still an amazing miracle and I welcomed my 3rd perfect child and 2nd boy into the world. And today I’m yawning and a mess from sleeping on a hospital bed and my wife looks as fresh and beautiful as ever once again proving we’re the much shittier sex.

Congrats to some other new dads and dads to be in here, wish all of you a healthy delivery like ours, and thanks again to all of GYERO providing the 2AM entertainment.

* I'd have to imagine 400m hurdle requires the best combo of athleticism & endurance. 800m is probably right there as well. Any longer distance and the muscle mass basically disappears and they look like they just came out of a concentration camp.

* No clue on the hardest but some of the race walking vids are hilarious. No clue what they actually do to warrant it but those dudes pass out, **** themselves or seize up every go.

* Give me nine wins for the football cats. Obvious QB questions but the deepest unit we've fielded in most of our lifetimes coupled with a really average schedule. Eight is probably the most likely but anything less than that is a disappointment.

* If someone uses the word "blowie" I'm going to instantly assume they are getting far less action than they are stating

* Tough call between Cape Cod BBQ and Zapps Voodoo in my potato chip ranking. Probably more dependent on the sandwich going with it, but I lean CC bbq.

* Not sure if its having two kids or my actual age but this has been the first year where I've started to feel old. Back and knee pain on the regular. Think my beard turned grey overnight, same for what's left of my hair. Mild hangovers after a two drinks. Multiple trips to piss through the night.

* NIL should have happened 20 years ago... unless you can't form a sentence, what is the purpose of going to the G-League or even leaving early unless you are guaranteed lotto? I'd imagine redshirting starts to come back into play for guys again if there is any intelligence left out there.

The 800 is the hardest, IMO. 400 / 400h are up against the limits of anaerobic exertion. The 800 has lactic acid burning for the second lap and there’s basically one chance to make a move, whereas the 400’s get to stick to a lane.

Twice a week, I get a lot of exercise in by catching for my son’s coach pitch / tee baseball team and jumping over the thrown bats in a balletic, “Skip-It,” motion (from a crouch position), so I speak from a position of knowledge on modern feats of athleticism.

-Taking a 7 and 2 year old to the city for a wedding and then a brief excursion to the hamptons after to "rest" was pretty daunting. Christ. We made it, though. 5 am Jitney to Laguardia was absolutely horrendous planning.

-Wedding was incredible. The Boathouse in Prospect Park (Brooklyn). Nailed my Best Man toast. The Wooks played and then a DJ, which was perfect. Drank a ton of gin. Street tacos late night. 10/10.

-Bride and much of her side were Texas grads so I got to give them a sarcastic "Welcome to the SEC" in my toast. Kentucky side laughed. Felt good tbh.

-Rehearsal Dinner at The Standard East Village. 21 floors up, low balcony. I had to have 3 quick drinks to appease my fear of heights. What a view. What a city.

-I know kooky is more versed on the matter but the city felt pretty good, maybe not 100%, but far better than last December. Obviously the weather/season helped, but was encouraging.

-SIL's wealthy boyfriend has an absolute unit in Bridgehampton. Jesus. Restored working barn on a private lot. Salt water pool. Just unreal. My daughter asked if I was "jealous," the little ****, and I instinctively said no, and meant it. I mean, I figured the property taxes alone were more than I cleared in 2020. Who needs/wants that?

-After a carnival of a July I am sprinting towards the mundane. I've got some patio furniture I need to strip and paint, a garage to clean out, and some other things around the house that have accumulated. Throw something on the grill each night, a few beers, and in bed early sounds perfect this weekend.

-Kevin Morby is a nice little find from Spotify. Folksy/Bluesy. I'm enjoying.

-Looks like the SAE MILD AUGUST plea went unheard. F this extended forecast.

-Massive yellow poplar out front dropping leaves like it's October. Hate the mess it leaves in the yard when I've got the sucker looking pretty good. Oh well. Still love the old man.

-Give me a bucket of Lee's over the CFA nuggets tray all/air for Wildcats tailgating.

- That Toyota commercial about the adopted Paralympics swimmer...man. What a great spot. Good job, Willy.

- Sam Morril at Comedy Off Broadway this weekend. Very underrated.

- 800 definitely up there in terms of the hardest. Just the fact that it's caught in between the sprint races and the distance runs. Hard to find the right pace.

- Had a habit back in the day of heading to Joseph-Beth whenever a sports celebrity was rolling through for a book signing. A signed copy of Carl Lewis' autobiography is probably the most random book I own. I know Bolt obliterated everything when he came along, but those Lewis runs in 84 through 92 were absolutely electric. As great a sprinter as he was, he was equally bad of a singer. #UhOh

- A 10:30 p.m. tip for the gold medal game isn't ideal, but it's the last meaningful sportsball game until the CFB kicks off in earnest a month from now, so might as well stay up.

- My mom had always dreamed of having a red Mustang convertible. They bought one about a year before her vision started slipping, so she only got to drive it for a bit. It has sat, relatively untouched (non-GYERO), in their garage for the past several years. Dad has decided to sell it, but has invited us to come over and take turns driving it around before then. It's not my kind of car (I'm more of a sensible boring sedan man, myself), but it'll be nice to throw the top down and rumble that thing around town for a bit, if only for the sentimentality of it.
