Just wait and see, krazy. That team hasn't been going anywhere for a few years now. It was time for a reboot.

I’m actually incredibly envious of what the Cubs just did. Those are 4 really big names and really good players but they’re older, overpaid, and couldn’t get the team to a .500 record. Cut bait and reload before it’s too late. That’s how you build a winner in baseball.

::eye roll::

Baez is 28 and 5.2M per, and Bryant is 29 and 18.6M per.

Granted Bryant is a FA at the end of the year, but Chicago COULD afford to keep him they just didn’t want to.

Besides that, they simply refused to go after real pitching since 2016. It’s been astonishing to watch really.

To add insult to injury we traded Gleyber Torres for Aroldis Chapman to win the series in 2016, which was a sign they’d keep Baez long term. I’m extremely pissed about Baez.

The best way to win at baseball is to trade everyone.

Well if they’re going to leave anyways it certainly is. The Houston Astros built their current great organization by doing exactly that. They won a World Series 4 years after 3 straight 100-loss seasons. At one point their payroll was so low Alex Rodriguez made more than their whole team.

This is how bad Jed Hoyer is, he will no doubt attempt to get Bryant in FA, but be about 10-15M a year short and a year or two shy of whoever gets him.

lame *** GM insulting the best player we’ve had in a few decades yet again.

Baseball players peak around 28 (on average). Bryant will be 30 when he becomes a free agent. Last year he was awful. This year is the worst of his career.

Whoever signs him will be investing heavily in what are likely to be by far the least productive years of his career. This is pretty common sense stuff.

I’ll bet Bryant finishes from here .300 plus. Won’t put a number to HRs because SF is a big park unless your a lefty.

My point is, the Cubs have been managed poorly and Bryant has mailed it in because he wasn’t respected 2 years ago when we could have signed him at 26 to 8 years and 25 per year and had him locked up until 33/34 which are still solid years.

Pretty sure I’ve owned PTI when it came to turn around players that weren’t giving it their all such as Matt Harvey and a few others.

PTI’s financial stand point stands, but sometimes you have to read the situation!

- Parish festival this weekend. After everything was cancelled last year (two years, really, if you count the fish fries, which are my favorite), it’s great to get the kids out for some games of chance, and the parents the opportunity to booze and gambol. This is the sole reason the Catholic Church is superior to all faiths, and the only reason I’m in. I can take or leave the god stuff. It’s a cultural/ethnic thing, and I fully embrace it. Also, Madison’s mom was looking hot as f**k.

- Today was the last day of our summer associate program, and the summer associate I allegedly mentored stopped by to offer her thanks for a great summer (it was not). I asked her if she was incurring student loans. She said yes. I told her to get the f**k out and get a real job, this deal is hopeless. I’m not sure it properly registered; she was taken aback. Whatever. I can’t imagine striving so hard to get into such a **** profession these days.

- Who wants to hear Reds talk? No one? Okay. I’ll do my bidding at Redlegnation.com then tonight. But I will extend some extra pumps to all of those identified Cubs fans, especially Vern. F@ck you, Vern. *******.

- I’m no foodie, but last night my wife made some authentic Ukrainian cabbage rolls. Recipe that her great grandmother handed down from the old country. I’m blessed. My farts were outrageous, tho. She made me sleep in the extra room. Cabbage will do that - I’d like to funnel some cabbage farts onto Vern’s dumb Cubs face.

- Reds actually have a chance, tho, no? Once Castellanos is back it’s the best lineup in the NL. And Vern will choke on an AIDS infested dick as he watches replacement level players lead his douche bags to a 70 win season. Also, to hell with you, Beagle, and any Cards fans on here. Enjoy your descent into the abyss.

- Anyone else on here ever tried a vibrating cock ring? I got one in the mail from Scandinavia. It’s tremendous. PM me for details.

- Oktoberfest beers in the marketplace in July is an outrage. I don’t even know what to say about this. Autumn is by FAR the greatest season, and putting out the quintessential beers of fall three weeks after Independence Day is a goddamned outrage.

- Seasons ranking: fall, spring, summer, winter. If you disagree, you’re either a derelict/simpleton, or BBdK.

- You know, I’m a free agent anymore on political/cultural issues. I have no sides, ideologies, whatever. But I will say this. This country should have mandated vaccines six months ago. No vaccine, you get no tax refund, stimulus check, unemployment benefits, child tax credit payment, whatever. If you want to go it alone, fine, that’s your choice, but you don’t get **** from the government hereafter.

- I like to think how Harry Truman or Dwight D. Eisenhower might approach this issue. Truman made the decision - personally and fully on him - to nuke hundreds of thousands of civilians because, in his estimation, it would save millions more lives. Maybe the hardest executive decision in modern human history.

- If Truman was in charge now, how do you think he would react to these fairies talking about “freedom of choice, my body my choice, etc.” ??? He would throw them in a camp in Utah, and let them fend for themselves/die. The US govt didn’t f**k around back in the day. Every American would be vaccinated. And that’s the truth. We used to know how to get **** done when it needed to get done. Now, not so much.

- If you are reading this and you haven’t been vaccinated, I hope you die in a fire; please immediately put me on ignore because I never want to interact with you again on any level; and certainly, don’t respond to this post, because I will not see it. Finally, f**k you, you selfish and deranged prick.

- I need to go read my three year old some books about dinosaurs. Hugs and kisses, my friends.

I lived in Overland Park, KS in middle school and the first part of high school. Great place to live. We went out to a few games at Allen Field House. Great place to watch a game. Almost saw ETSU beat them. Our John Pelphrey’s brother played on that ETSU team.

All that said, nobody thinks of Lawrence being in the same area as KC. Nobody.

Matt Harvey was 7-7 as a Red with a 4.50era. He was a below average pitcher, and that was easily the best season of his career after age 26.

In other words — he sucked.

And krazy your math is way wrong. If the Cubs signed Bryant to an 8 year deal 2 years ago he’d have been 35/36 when it expired.

.500 on a team that went 67-95, unreal how dense your stat stubborn *** is.

Also, 2 years ago he was 26 before the season which is when negotiations went south. In baseball you can buyout the rookie deal so it isn’t like it’s an 8yr extension.

But it’s irrelevant now.

You want to bet $100 he finishes from here at .300?

Comprehension you idiot, from here he will hit .300 with SF, meaning he wasn’t playing hard for Chicago.

down play him as soon to be overpaid, but you won’t make that bet.
