OT: Pisser stance confusion

I've recently noticed a disproportionate number of dudes using the full lean, forearm flat on the wall, body leaning into it, head right over the pisser method of pissing in the urinal. Why? Was the walk to the bathroom too taxing to even support their own weight while peeing? There has to be a valid reason why a person would want to wipe fully one half of their arm on a piss covered wall, but I can't think of it.

If SPS doesn't have an answer I'll have to strike up an awkward bathroom conversation with a stranger just to find out...

In the OB restrooms, I swear there was fresh piss on the wall above the urinal that was at eye level (I'm 6'2"). I assume people that are leaning on the wall are just drunk.

This is at work!!! Surely they aren't drunk. It's just odd to me.

when the bone is in play, that's the only way to take a leak. unless someone has discovered another method

Only excuse to use this stance is if you are too drunk to stand up and piss at the same time.

A guess here. I think the lean technique is about protecting the shoes/pants. You want to avoid any splashback on the loafers/Jordans or Dockers or (God forbid) bare legs. However, you can't very well stand a foot back from the urinal and arch your stream in there like you are one of those little fountain boys. The solution is to get a little distance with the feet, but lean in and support yourself with the wall. I've never seen the forearm used, though. That's a little too close for comfort. I understand not wanting to use an open palm for hygienic reasons, but I think a closed fist followed by a hand-washing is a better solution. I dunno. That's just my urinalysis.

Us old men with BPH have to strain. For us leaning into is an acceptable stance. If you live long enough you will understand.

But true. I had surgery 2 months ago to fix this. I can now whizz all the way across the room.
Maybe we get some snow, I'm going to practice my handwriting
