Somebody who would know said Wheeler would commit by Friday.

Did you know that Wheeler was selected 2nd Team All SEC last season? And if he'd have just hit 8 more threes, his percentage goes up to 30%?

One thing that stood out to me while watching film on him, those long passes have to make it past 3-4 defenders to reach his man. Risky as hell.
On the plus side, we may not have to hear "RUN!!!" from Cal as much.

It just doesn’t matter that much if you’ve got a couple guys on the floor who can stroke it. One defender sagging off doesn’t create a packed in defense.
If the defense doesn't sag off of him, that's terrible coaching and scouting.
Wheeler going to lead us to 40-0 without question.

I’ve been a big critic, but now that we have Tyty on board as insurance, I’m all for it.
I was never a fan of going all in on Wheeler and handing him the keys, but with Tyty's commitment I feel better about having Wheeler as a part of the team. He would actually be a good sparkplug off the bench, if he would accept that role (he probably won't though).
I am shocked he was able to squeeze in an actual sports related tweet between his woke tweets and bashing fans.
He thinks he will be in the NBA.This just moves Tyty to the 2 and puts a shooter on the bench.
He may turn out to be a great addition and back up to Washington. I honestly don’t remember him doing much of anything against us last year, though.
I don't think Wheeler has an NBA career ahead of him. I hope he's not planning to commit here to "showcase his NBA skills."
If Tyler Ulis couldn’t make it in the nba, this kid sure won’t. Size matters.
When looking at Wheeler's stats, pretty important to remember he played on a **** team with almost no help from any other position.
The shooting concerns are over blown. He averaged 1 made three per 3 attempts per game. We have plenty of shooters now on the team. 1 three a game from Wheeler is PLENTY when you add in what you will get from Frederick, Grady, Mintz, Washington & Allen
He had 10 pts, 7 assts, and 2 turnovers against UK this past year and we lost. Not crazy stats, but the assists are nice.

He shot 22.5% from 3 last year. So 1 out of every 3? No, that's not how percentages work.
I think he is good addition to the team now that Washington is on the roster. No roster in college basketball is perfect. UK’s is rounding into shape to field a very good team with plenty of shooting.
It doesn't matter how well everyone can shoot if there's nobody who can beat their man or get into the lane to open things up.
The reason we shot the worst percentage in our history last year is that everything was contested. We didn't get anything easy all year.
Plus, whichever comparison you want to use for TyTy (Knight or IQ), we know that neither was a pure PG. Folks lamented Knight all season, wanted to see Lamb at the 1, etc. and IQ struggled mightily as a freshman trying to create. He was much better off the ball. If the same is true for TyTy, having that safety valve while he learns is going to prevent a lot of those growing pains.
I'm old enough to remember folks wanting proven veteran players and not to lose a bunch of games early that cost us tournament seeding.

It looks like he is building a run and gun team with maybe a full court press Pitino style to negate4 the height advantage several other teams may have. Unless Jackson comes back our tallest is 6 feet nine inches. If so will b a fun team to watch. Wearing our team out by such an offense and defense will justify playing more players and keeping most players on the team happy. I hope I am right.
