The only 2 guards we seem to be in good shape with now are Wheeler and Fredrick. If that's all we get we might sneak in the tourney but will do nothing. That won't cut it.
You may be right but you never know. Loyola Chicago roster didn't look like a sweet 16 roster and a few years ago it didn't look like a final four team.

I'm not arguing with you. I just think we do too much guessing about what's going to happen when we really don't know.

Will Cal even play Fredrick? He definitely does not fit what Cal has done the previous 11 years. Not a super athlete, can't play D, he's from KY and he's not a draft prospect. So he's got four strikes against him. Maybe Cal will change his tune, we'll see, but it may be because he can't pick and choose who he wants anymore. It may be who we can get and hopefully play to their strengths. But Cal certainly didn't play to his players strentgths last year. See Sarr for example.

I totally agree....I think Cal believes he wants to play 4 out 1 in with more 3 point attempts but the first time Frederick gets badly beaten off the dribble for a layup and it won't take long he will get buried on the bench. Cal doesn't have it in him to field a bad defensive team.

I like this guy. LOTS on here wanted Max Abmas who actually had a worse assist/turnover ratio. Wheeler will do great at UK IMO.

I don't have an opinion on Wheeler other than I'd prefer to have enough players to add depth to our roster.

My comment would be in general, is UK getting the players they want? Are they getting the players they need? or is UK somewhere else?

and the answers to those questions should provide clarity on Wheeler or anyone else.

Well 2 of the things you said were wrong. He can play D and isn’t from Kentucky.

I'm not big on Wheeler. We need a stud PG if we want to really make some noise next year. If we were going to go after small PGs why not take a shot at Lykes. I could have gotten behind that. I mean Wheeler is ok as long as we get another top PG and he is the second option and not the main guy that we have to count on or bust like with Askew.

Hell, I wish Askew would have stayed. looking at our roster I wonder if he feels the same way. The Hickman thing felt out of nowhere, but I guess when you change up the staff some things like that can happen. Might still with Sky too, but I am excited still about O and CHin. Frederick was today so maybe Chin tomorrow and O Friday.

Once again SiGN HIM!! . We have 0 point guards now, none ,nada, zilch. The pool of good one’s actually in the portal is rapidly dwindling. Also he meets my primary requirement for recruitment to UK for next season. He is a marked improvement over anyone we had at that position lastt year. UK needs a talent upgrade as MANY as we can get. In fact we need 1 more guard besides him to have a balanced roster.

There's a little Kansas buzz for Wheeler on Twitter. If the rumor about Tyty's top two being Kentucky and Arizona it would make some sense.

Oh I really like Max and did not say he wasn't better. He also isn't available. I was only pointing out the obvious on that one should look at the whole picture.....and not cherry pick stats to fit agenda.

If he is coming here then that rules out all of the other transfer PG’s Perhaps TyTy still in the mix as a second PG? I would still prefer kid from GT or Minnesota. Still skeptical Hardy is committing to any college.

I think we may get Washington and Alvarado. Which is fine with me, considering what is available.

I haven’t been keeping up recently have seen some posts on here much more confident in TyTy. Last I heard seemed Zona was the leader evidently that thinking has shifted?
