It's a joke.Every time we sign a player he posts that.Nobody is calling him a savior ? "WE WILL WIN #9 IF WE GET HIM, BOOK IT"

Yay is right on.. some of you people amaze me. Do even watch the games or listen to people who report on UK that even Cal finally said we need more shooters. So odd people who bash the roster for not having enough shooters wouldnt gladly take a proven kid who shoots over 45% from 3. Hes as deadeye as Lamb was.
Cal turned down a kid because the kid thought he was a OAD?? Heck, we wouldn’t have filled a team most of the last 12 years if Cal used that reasoning. There’s something else other than that.I believe the issue with Powell was that he saw himself as only spending one more year in college. While we may never know for sure, I think Cal didn't want him for that reason. A kid that has a bit of an injury history, and seems intent on leaving for the pros after next year seems like a bit of a gamble at this point. Don't believe Frederick sees himself as leaving after next
Getting fed up with people saying the kid can't play defense. Did any of you watch Boston play last year ? Got an uncle that is going to be 101 in June and he could play better defense than Boston did. Give it a rest on saying he can't play defense.
So, you’re predicting UK but “can’t say for sure.” Does that sum it up?This won't shock anyone but I have it that CJ will make it official for our Cats before this weekend is out. And I would say that the two horse race for Washington that UK is inching ahead but no one can say for sure at this point
This is literally what Kyle Tucker posted yesterday, almost verbatim. This won't shock anyone but I have it that CJ will make it official for our Cats before this weekend is out. And I would say that the two horse race for Washington that UK is inching ahead but no one can say for sure at this point
CJ was supposed to commit last weekend. Apparently Cal wanted it pushed back for some reason. But he should commit before end of week. And yes, Tucker said same. This is literally what Kyle Tucker posted yesterday, almost verbatim.
The difference is seeing yourself as OAD, when Cal doesn't. I think Cal is fed up with kids who are intent on only staying a year regardless of how that year turns out.Cal turned down a kid because the kid thought he was a OAD?? And your take on Tyty if you have one?CJ was supposed to commit last weekend. Apparently Cal wanted it pushed back for some reason. But he should commit before end of week. And yes, Tucker said same.

Don’t know anything about TyTy. But I feel pretty good about it over the last week. I know Pilgrim talked to Hickmans dad and they gave their reasons, but I think there is a little more to that story. And your take on Tyty if you have one?
No way Hickman's dad is going to be like "they're bringing in better players, and we're afraid we won't start."Don’t know anything about TyTy. But I feel pretty good about it over the last week. I know Pilgrim talked to Hickmans dad and they gave their reasons, but I think there is a little more to that story.
Dave has had a lot more information than Tucker over the years. Tucker may have gotten that from Dave. This is literally what Kyle Tucker posted yesterday, almost verbatim.
I agree. Not buying the 'homesick' narrative.Don’t know anything about TyTy. But I feel pretty good about it over the last week. I know Pilgrim talked to Hickmans dad and they gave their reasons, but I think there is a little more to that story.
I was hoping this would be the case, but every guy Cal has brought in this spring is a one and done for different reasons. Some will be transfers, but Collins, Grady, Hopkins and Oscar didn’t come here to stay. The difference is seeing yourself as OAD, when Cal doesn't. I think Cal is fed up with kids who are intent on only staying a year regardless of how that year turns out.
I'm not sure that will change. I was speaking to the difference. I think Cal is OK recruiting a guy he knows is only going to be here a year. I believe Cal's problem is the kids that choose to leave when he were expected or should have expected to stay more than a year. You know Grady is a one year deal, and we will benefit from that one year. Oscar is likely the same way, and so is Collins. Not sure how he sees Hopkins. I don't think he has a problem with the Hardy types, or even the Shai types (a guy expected to be a multi year guy that blew up). I think his problem is the borderline guys that cause you to have to put up with the OAD shenanigan's, without the reward. I'm talking about the Skals, Vanderbilts, and even the EJ's of the world. Guys that aren't guaranteed, can't miss, OAD prospects, that are going to leave after a year or 2 regardless.I was hoping this would be the case, but every guy Cal has brought in this spring is a one and done for different reasons. Plus, he's recruiting Tyty and Hardy, there's no way they're staying more than 1 year.
Fredrick would be a multi year guy though, so that could be nice. It’s just a rare occurrence to see kids stay here more than 2 years. I hope that changes.
Yeah, I just look at the teams that are winning titles and the teams we keep losing to and I see seasoned veterans that young teams really struggle to beat.I'm not sure that will change. In my opinion, I think Cal is fine with giving up some things within his coaching and program as long as there is going to be some rewards. I think he is fine with changing rosters every year and being young, as long as it brings about success within the team. He is fine preaching the Player's first manta, as long as the players put the team first while they are here. His issue lately, or at least it seems, is that while he is sacrificing things for some of these guys, that don't seem to be sacrificing much for him or the program. Most of his success early with the OAD was due to the fact that whether those players knew they would only be here a year or not, they seemed to give their all to make the team better. Now we have players who are wanting to make movies about their time in Lexington, want to shut it down to save draft stock and all that. It was clear to see that Cal was frustrated with both Clarke and Vanderbilt for not playing when he felt they should have been. Whether their reason for sitting out was valid or not, Cal was clearly frustrated with both.
It's just my opinion, but I think when it came out that Powell was intent on only being in college one more year, Cal said no thanks because of that. I just think Cal didn't think there was enough reward with him to put up with that mentality.
The only thing is, the data that you are looking at is skewed. Most teams are going to have veteran teams by default. Therefore the vast majority of teams you lose to with a young team like Cal typically has is going to be more experienced. It really is no secret that Cal is the best, or at least was at one time the best, at masking and/or coaching through the issues that are typical with a young team. K is simply not very good at that. In fact, the young team formula may not work for 99.9% of the coaches out there, but it's obvious when Cal has super talented young teams, he is usually pretty dominant.Yeah, I just look at the teams that are winning titles and the teams we keep losing to and I see seasoned veterans that young teams really struggle to beat.
Coach K is getting the supreme talent right now and even he can’t win with it.
I just think that if Cal really is going to change, like he alluded to, he really needs to move away from young 1 year players, there are too many things that young teams struggle with and quite honestly, Cal isn't getting the supreme guys anymore, he's just not willing to cheat and the others are.
Heck, Hardy and Tyty are still continuing to string everyone along, just like Cade did and it's obvious that they make every coach think they are coming.
Now we're seeing bigtime recruits decommit, like Bates and Hickman. These young guys play too many mind games and with immediate entry to the GL, they can just change course at the last minute and really screw schools over.
Did Powell say he wanted to be one and done? I missed that. If so then it’s best we didn’t take him. Do you have that link?I'm not sure that will change. I was speaking to the difference. I do not have a link. It was talked about in several threads here and on the premium side. Not sure if there was ever an article or anything that had quotes from him, but it was talked about. Not only that, but this will be like his 5-6 school in as many years dating back to high school. I think this is one of those situations where Cal is willing to deal with that kind of drama from someone in the Knight, Wall, twins type league, but not from someone who he thinks isn't in that league. To be clear, I'm not saying those kids had drama, just saying Cal is willing to deal with a bit of that when the player has elite talent.Did Powell say he wanted to be one and done? I missed that. If so then it’s best we didn’t take him. Do you have that link?
It is too easy to be negative. He is not a savior but he is a shooter which we have been screaming for. Is he the #1 5 star, no. He is a ball player. I will take that. Some people here are insufferable. Frederick is a top 5 shooter in the country and has the potential to be an all American if he gets shots like he couldn't at Iowa with Garza ball hogging. He would have been our best player last season and it isnt even close.
I'm glad you agree.Nobody is calling him a savior ? "WE WILL WIN #9 IF WE GET HIM, BOOK IT"
Literally no one is calling him a savior. You just wanted to call him white and bring race into the equation. Sad.Some of you get so enamored with KY guys, you get blinded from the reality of the situation. Frederick CAN be a really nice player, and I want him, BUT, he is not the savior some are making him out to be because he is a white player from KY.
