Are you always this stupid?

Did your pacifer fall out ? See I can act like a immature A hole too .. listen , you want to make a point why getting Chin from Illinois is a difference maker at the U of K , then please do . Until then , if you have nothing better to add , just skip the grade school stuff. I dont think its a difference maker , the guy making 9 mil a year calls the shots , not Chin or any assistant.

Well he has great connections in Chicago. You know the place where we’ve got most of our great players? Of course you don’t know because you’re clueless. He helped Illinois to a #1 seed and our HOF coach believes he’s qualified. You’re not even qualified to even comment on the discussion. 😬

You’re below mediocrity and ignorant! 🤷‍♂️

What assistant should we have got besides Chin and OA? I’m sure it will be something unreasonable like Phil Jackson. I will probably hear crickets tho!

To me the changing of assistants is part scape goat and part desperation .. Its cover for the guy at the top who lost his competitive edge . But you guys cling to whatever keeps you thinking we still " eat first" and " define college hoops" . The used car guy has you fooled . But carry on if you must .

I dont have an issue with new assistants , when your old staff quits its not a choice , but you guys thinking changing assistants is going to change Cal and his broken approach are deniers of history .

Do you people honestly believe that your bitching and moaning helps the program in any way? I see this "supporting mediocrity" thing on this board a lot, used to see it on the football board about Stoops too (which was equally stupid). It doesn't matter if you support Cal or if you cry because of a peaceful protest, you're a fan and you contribute NOTHING to W's and L's.

I realize Kentucky is a poor state, but surely there is more to your life than a basketball program.

Its a message board .. the program is in the tank , to me the constant parade of " everything is fine" is just as irritating as those that vent about our current state . And i didnt mention any peaceful protest .. Cal be on the board of the ACLU and if he wins EVEN CLOSE to where we were that first 5-6 years none of this conversation happens . But these last 5 years are mostly torture .

Im going to teach you something today. Assistants usually leave for other coaching jobs, Ie. Kenny Payne. Assistant coaches play a vital role in recruiting and developing players. Cal can’t do 100 things at once like idiots thinks he can. Look at 2009-2014 and then look at now, ever wonder why recruiting fell off after 2014? OA left for a HEAD COACHING job. He’s one of the main reasons we were so good and the reason Illinois was. #1 seed this year. Assuming you’re not capable of comprehending that, I probably wasted 2 minutes of my life.

A 100 things at once .. LOl , like have a light bulb moment and realizes DA was in far far over his head .. or playing mind games with Allen , or treating Boston like Jordan ? Yeah that head coaching gig is so overwhelming complex issues like those can get overlooked .

If it’s not overwhelming and you know it all, why aren’t you a head coach somewhere. Also, you avoided my question pertaining to who you would hire as assistants??? You’re completely clueless! 😉

I honestly thought Antigua would have been the first to announce but, whatever works. Within 24 hours both may be on staff.
And regarding Miller, he wasn't a big loss. There's a reason he ended up at LSU instead of UK. And no I'm not insinuating a "strong *** offer" was involved.
Even tho it probably was

Addressed that in post 95 . Cal isnt going to change and recruiting has totally changed since when OA and Co were bringing in the stars . I'm afraid the program is past the point of assistants changing the course we are on . I'll continue to be a proud member of BBN - like the last 50 years - but Cal needs to go . If you dont agree , thats ok .

Didn't want to start a thread, and it is related to this topic, so I thought I'd post it here. During today's KSR show, Jones basically said the assistant coach shakeup was due to the fact that starting with the Zion commitment to Duke, Cal did not feel like his assistants were being honest with him about where they stood with recruits, an he was losing people he thought they were good with.

You didn’t name anyone who you thought was better for the assistant position. Don’t talk about who we get or what conference they came from if you can’t name anyone who would be better. 👌

And you'd be wrong. You think assistants at a elite program like UK (or any program for that matter) just take up space on the bench and gather the basketballs after practice? LOL!
Each assistant is responsible for specific recruits. That's why you see a guy like Hickman de-commit from UK when Justus leaves. They establish communication and later on a relationship with the kids they recruit. Antigua, when he was here before was vital in talent evaluation. Something we've lacked for several years now.
That's all before they do their individual coaching in practice. Kenny Payne was instrumental in developing our big guys while he was here. Jai Lucas should be handling the guards.
It's a complicated arrangement and the quality of your assistants plays a huge role in the kind of team you put on the floor.
Illinois was a cellar-dweller program in the Big10 until Underwood arrived and started assembling a quality staff. Last season they were one of the top 3-4 teams in the country. The head guy always gets all the credit but, there is no way he can do it all by himself.

And I never said any of the things you are attributing to me. Signed, former small college recruiter/assistant for 3 years at the NAIA level.

There it is, you racist POS. You are a horrible human being. Same guy who wanted someone with a drug problem thrown under the jail as opposed to trying to get them help. You really are a miserable human being. No one likes you or wants you here. Do us a favor and disappear

WTF are you talking about? You plainly said that Calipari bringing in better assistants was a "scapegoat" move and a act of "desperation". As though improving his staff wouldn't change a thing. I simply laid out my opinion that better staff = better program. Honestly don't see how you can argue that point.

My point is we never EVER should be in this situation , and I'm the kind of guy that holds people accountable for their actions/results . I go back to Joe B .. no one has done what Cal has done , divided BBN .
