Well being it's a reboot of a movie not only with a black antagonist but the original story involved the antagonist becoming candyman because he was in love with a white woman. Then it's basically impossible for race not to be highlighted in this particular movie. Not everyone who is affiliated with a particular party adheres to every stereotype. My mom is a yellow dog democrat who is anti abortion and owns a gun and has her concealed deadly weapons permit.

Well stated. I wish more would understand this.

Contest? How did you get contest out of my statements? What did I say that wasn't true? You have just as much right to not like Peel and like chappelle as Shadow does of liking Peel.
I like key and peele.... but if were voting its just a rip off of the Chapelle show bc it is....

You wrote all that and I'm sure you meant it but this board has a stereotype and I certainly don't care about politics at all. I just hold my morals and let the others fight. Legalize weed and keep your guns is fine enough with me.

Well I wrote it all because out of nowhere you assume (and put into written word) that I would not like the reboot because the writer is black. I was just letting you know how that is a somewhat dangerous way of thinking and a (perhaps?) irresponsible way of categorizing individuals ya know? Sorry lol, I get chatty at night after the wife and kids go to sleep 😄

This board may have a stereotype but it’s just that...a stereotype. Luckily I think we can all agree that stereotypes can be misleading.

Also, yes to the 2’nd amendment! And DOUBLE yes to legalizing weed. The latter is far far overdue. I’m hoping it’s legal in Kentucky within the next 5-10 years and I truly believe that is attainable.

Awhile back I do remember you PM’ing me and telling me I was racist and hated poor people. I grew up dirt poor and lived a decent portion of my adult life poor. But we talked a bit more and even became friendly. I thought we had moved past that my dude? I dunno...
Oh so now were just making things up? Thats a hardy laugh. I am literally the least triggered person by anyones politics. I certainly dont care about yours.

I said that bc a lot of white ppl including myself felt uncomfortabilities in the audience after "Get out" which have brought out a lot of angst again Peele. I still enjoy his movies but dont enjoy the ignorant but you trying to cast that light on me is a bold faced lie and I would like for you to admit so bc I have all our "DM's"

You said that I wouldn’t (me personally) like the movie because he’s black due to you being uncomfortable in Get Out? I’m not sure I understand but Why didn’t you say that initially then?

Ya know, as far as the DM’s. Perhaps I misremember. I do remember you insinuating that I didn’t like poor people for whatever reason. The racist thing could be wrong on my part. It’s been awhile.

But listen man; let’s take it to DM now. No need for us to hijack the thread further lol.

Edit- for what it’s worth I didn’t feel uncomfortable during Get Out. I got what he was doing (and disagreed) but I didn’t feel uncomfortable or guilty. He’s an artist and more than welcome to make art as he pleases. I don’t have to agree.

I said you might not be comfortable with it bc he highlights race a lot and even I as a "moderate" dont perticuarily care for all of his takes myself, hes controversial. As for your DM's your misremembering and I'll gladly post our DM's where I offered you tickets and so forth but lol me getting into a political argument is a joke.

I cant even send Dm's you DM'd me....

I rather have an experienced option who has shown he can play at a high level in P5 play like Carr or Alvarado over Hardy. Any player that considers the G-league tells me all I need to know about them and that is not a player I want Cal to recruit.

As we discussed, friend wasn't wrong about Christopher's bull****. Anyone wants a glimpse, just go watch the EYBL special on FOX...you can see signs of him being a clown but it was far worse when cameras were off. Also peaks into the world that is high level grassroots basketball where a man like Jermaine O'Neal who is out to volunteer his name/time to a team has to deal with people like Rod Hampton--RJ's father.
Speaking of Christopher I saw a lot of comments saying if he went to Michigan along with Isaiah Todd then they wouldn’t have had as good of a season as they had .

When it comes down to 2 choices, and we have a huge hole to fill? I don’t see this going our way.

I know Hardy’s waiting for Mintz to decide because you can’t replace a team leading 11.5 ppg.

Like the majority of content that got this thread over 100 posts, there‘s zero substance here.

Have met Tony Todd a couple of times at horror movie cons! Super nice guy. Oddly most horror movie icons are compared to most other celebrities guess it's the stigma of the genre not getting the respect it deserves. Anyway his voice in the original candyman movies was epic! Odd fact they used real bees in the original Candyman and they had to pay Todd 1000 bucks for stings which according to Tony was 23 times lol! Sorry scary stuff is my thing !
Haha that’s a sweet contract, I’d get stung hundreds of times for a grand each time. Yeah most Horror movie guys don’t get super big so they don’t fall into the Hollywood cults and become super crazy.

I didn't think you'd like him bc you're a republican and he highlights race in all of his movies..... not going to change with this one.
I agree but at least he has talent, as long as the story is legitimate and has a reason for it so be it but if it’s just F white people just because well then it will fail like all the rest of that dumb ****.

Oh? Idk man. I haven’t really noticed. I just know the stuff I’ve seen of his I enjoy.

As far as your other point, I wouldn’t say I’m republican necessarily ( MANY Republicans are in the swamp and ****** people and crooked. Romney, McCain etc. I am conservative though and believe the rampant wokeism and degeneracy being pushed by the media, academia and Hollywood could prove to be very problematic.

I don’t mean this offensively my man, but that is part of the problem. You seem to think things so rigid and black and white. So much so you insinuated I wouldn’t like a random reboot horror movie because the writer is black. I don’t look at people and decide if I like them or not based off their skin color. I hope you don’t either.
Awhile back I do remember you PM’ing me and telling me I was racist and hated poor people. I grew up dirt poor and lived a decent portion of my adult life poor. But we talked a bit more and even became friendly. I thought we had moved past that my dude? I dunno...

You insinuating as such reminds me of all the cackling hens who are currently trying to boycott Joe Rogan (love him) and Spotify right now. It’s just absurd. Did you believe this way because you believe this way but on the opposite side? Would you not like or enjoy someone’s talented work because they may have slightly different ideologies that you may not agree with? I sure hope not man. That’s no way to live.

Seeing as how my mother is a Cuban immigrant and my grandparents (mothers side) were born and raised in Cuba, I do find it somewhat interesting that white liberals (I’m assuming) like yourself are so enamored with defining people and things based on their skin tone. Again, I don’t mean that offensively my dude. You seem like a pretty cool guy. Just try to look outside the defined box being galvanized by the media these days.

You seem like a good guy tho man. Truly mean that.
I don’t think he meant you wouldn’t like it because he’s black more so that his writing is starting to follow the woke agenda.

That makes sense. The woke agenda is indeed obnoxious, hypocritical and degenerate and annoying, regardless of who is regurgitating it.

Hardy is probably the best 2G in the upcoming class - and not just by ranking (which can be more about potential and forecasting an OAD's expected draft position), but for real the best freshman 2G in actual production. But, I would still take Grady over a freshman Hardy. Now, if the idea is to play Hardy at PG, I guess that would work as well as playing Mintz there - but it wouldn't be the best use of his talents, and surely there are a lot better options at the PG spot.

I’ll just say this, if UK can’t get a pg after all the good ones we have had it shows how much the schools have really started paying players and we need to just say F it and do it too.

What an entertaining thread. In my opinion anyone who voted for Donald Trump is at least OK with racism. Because he is clearly racist. As was his father.

PS Hardy is not going to UK but you’ll be fine Coach Cal has some tricks up his sleeve.

Says the person who votes for the party that actually does condone systemic racism. Freedom is the only cure to racism, and the dems are not it.
