7.4 assists a game, we had several games where the whole team barely had that many. He would be a welcome addition, much better than anyone now on the squad. Is he the best in the portal no, but he IS an upgrade and I would take him.

Yes brother, led the SEC by quite a margin, and 5th overall in the nation. He averaged like 7.5 a game. Pippen is more high profile and high ceiling no doubt, but for the people disappointed it's Wheeler, this kinda guy could definitely help UK next year. Very good passer and floor vision.
Not interested.. cant shoot.. 👎🏻

I doubt he is a good defender either
He had 8 games last season on at least 3 steals a game. He also had 8 games of at least 10 assists and 8 games with at least 17 points. That was all in a shortened 26 game season.

I’ll take a guy who as a sophomore averaged 14 points, 7.5 assists and 1.7 steals a game who put up staggering numbers in multiple games.

Inter-conference transfers in the SEC as of today are not allowed to play right away. That may change down the road thought. May be why we are steering away from other SEC players.

You guys really get massively fired up when they say UK has “reached out”. They’ve reached out already to multiple guys that have transferred without offering (Powell being one everyone is n this board talked about). There’s just too much going on: from guys that declared being transfer eligible if not drafted, guys still not entering the portal, and a complete staff change and who they might bring to get worked up in this right now IMO

We eat Georgia castoffs first! ;)

Just because we "reached out" doesn't mean he got a scholarship offer. There's a lot of Arizona buzz with Tyty right now and I'm starting to think we're eliminated there, so it makes sense to contact a few guys. If anything as backup options. I read something the other day about Wheeler possibly wanting to be closer to his hometown of Houston anyway.

I wouldn't mind looking into DeVante Jones from Coastal Carolina.

Kentucky makes him closer to Houston than Georgia?

Pippen has one specialty. Getting to the rim. Would he take away from a better scorer in Grady? Ideal situation would be a one that can score from anywhere and another one that is a great defender, passer and ball handler that is at least decent shooting the ball. I like Grady that can score from anywhere anytime.

Give me Mintz all day over Wheeler
Why can’t we have both?

Mintz is not really a point guard, he’s best on the wing, whereas Wheeler is ONLY a point (fantastic passer, but awful shooter). Seems to me like two guys who might compliment each other and fit well together.

I'm not that big on Pippen as others on here are. I would be a hard no on Pippen.

Hasn't Pippen Jr. said he will hold the option of returning to college as a backup plan in case he isn't projected to be high in the draft? If he isn't in any mocks would he return to Vandy or be open to UK?

This is complete lunacy. I doubt we’ll have any chance to get Pippen, but the idea that we should turn him down if available is one of the dumber things I’ve ever seen on this board. We’d be VERY lucky to get him.
.
I’m convinced that a majority of this board doesn’t actually watch college basketball other than UK. I’ve seen rampant ridiculous takes
