I still don't understand how that happened. Pine tar isn't going to do that, unless it was in amounts that would make it obvious the ball was compromised. One of the strangest things I've ever seen.

You could put superglue on a baseball and throw it directly at a mat and it's not going to stick like that.

IIRC the chest protector and ball were both examined and deemed fine.

Clear double-sided tape on the chest protector might do it, and he could have clandestinely removed it. That's about the only thing I can think of.

It would still probably have to be a freshly mudded ball I would think (for it to stick), which it might have been if the previous ball had been fouled out of play.

That Dan Dickau sure was fun to watch, eh?

That was the last time I cared/pulled for Gonzaga.

(Dude had solid lettuce, though. TS.)

Will never forgive the Cubs for letting Castellanos get away, and to a division rival to boot. Love that dude.

It's been 8 years this month since I moved out of Louisville. Has Portland taken off yet?

I think me, SAE, and Gil Holland have been most vocally playing the long game there. Gonna hit big one of these decades.

Slowly and not so surely. I moved out of Portland back in October. The girlfriend would not move there and her place is much better than mine. Plus, a kid I had known for a long time was murdered in a drive by shooting around the same time. After that, I was ready to get out. I still work down here though. I'll never leave entirely.

* Per my run thru the French Quarter yesterday, nobody gives AF anymore.

I was actually thinking to myself how hilarious/sad it will be for the few remaining holdouts, while 99% of America is out and about crushing life, and King Beshear, the Louisville school board dork, and like 3 dopes from the CDC are the only ones left insisting we should all be sitting at home in our basements wearing 3 masks and a hazmat suit. LOL okay, bubs.

Our school board meetings have officially become complete **** shows. At least 30 minutes of the open comments section is devoted to parents ripping into the board asking them to resign. One board member actually started to cry last week after one of the lashings.

I’m fully vaccinated, so touch it. I’ll still wear a mask and keep my tiny bottle of hand sanitizer in my pocket, but I’m going to come and go as I please.

-Charleston was a great get-a-way. Had been pretty much within an hour or so of home since last July. So I was near insanity. Weather was just ok, a little cool though I don't mind a long sleeve shirt/swim trunk combo, cooked a bunch, drank a bunch, fished, saw SAE in his badass house, but mostly relaxed and hung out with the family. And, yes, any precautions taken down there seemed only for show and going through the motions. I love that place, and fall in love more each time I visit.

-Real estate down there is insanity. Apparently just getting flooded by NE-ers getting the hell out of dodge and willing to pay whateves.

-Caught up on Ted Lasso while we there. A+. What a fantastic show. I love this trend of feel good sitcoms with all lovable characters.

-Not getting Powell is a bummer but I'm ok with Grady taking his spot. More mature, more proven. Go get a PG, bring Mintz back, and stop making videos. We're 6 years from our last F4.

-F*ck Gonzaga. Not interested in a little ***** NW school, that gets to skate through the conference schedule every year to a guaranteed 1 seed, becoming a powerhouse. Especially one that BBdk constantly acts like he's the only one that knows about. Go Bears.

-Cronin has the most punchable face in the world.

-Lifetime contract for Self while in the middle of a NCAA investigation. 🤣 They really are some cucks out there in Lawrence, aren't they? I really don't care what happens to them aside from taking about 100 wins or so.

-What do we need to do to make sure UNC hires Hubert? Because I'll f*cking do it.

-There have been plenty of awesome title matchups, but I don't recall any, at least recently, where it's THE 2 teams, both of whom are completely separate from the rest of the country like Gonzaga & Baylor. Lot of that has to do with the fact NCAAB has typically been much deeper at the top, but that's clearly just not the case this year -- it's those two, and it always has been.

Kinda like those UConn/Baylor women's games over the years tbh. Bettor in me says take the points, but will be interesting to watch the money come in throughout the day & evening -- it's pretty much equal at the moment.

-Will be hard to top yesterday as the best weather day of the year. Perfecto

-Still can't believe Juzang: 23, 27, 17, 13, 28, 29. Just unbelievable. Any chance he tries to capitalize and declares?

-'White Boy' doc that hit Netflix (2017) is pretty good, and messed up.

-Nice hire for OU w/ Moser, seems like a good fit for both.
