We have 13 scholarships. We should take every advantage we can after that trainwreck of a season, IMO. Yes, there are lots of bodies currently at PF/C, but all are unproven at a consistent high level and we may still have attrition.

In theory, yes.. but those 10th spots and down, I dont think guys like Ware, Brooks and Allen are going to like being that low in the pecking order.

I do think there comes a point where you can have TOO much talent on a 13 roster/5 man squad, where players will look for playing time elsewhere.

I do think this will work itself out.. I dont think were done losing players. And maybe Cal knows this.

First, Allen should be playing significant minutes. He opens up the floor and provides a much different look fot the team offense. He can be the most prolific spot-up shooter in CBB with some room. Ware and Brooks can climb the pecking order if they produce. I don't like seeing multi-year guys getting buried either, but Cal knows he must win at a high level next year. Best way to do that is a great influx of talent and to let the players' results decide the PT. Can't see him going with the 5-star favoritism garbage again.

That really sucks because I feel as though he’s had major support from the fans while he’s been here. I still want him back but it’s disappointing to hear he doesn’t like it here. I don’t know why.
I think he looked disinterested on the court sometimes. Either that or a distraction. Seems his mind is somewhere else to me. He looked lost all year on both sides of the ball.

As the world turns:

Rowland tweeted the following. I don't have premium but my guess is it's Bassey--which fits with his "best prospect in the draft" comments.

Brown would be a tremendous get for the cats. Stretch the floor "kinda" player that plays through contact. Will make huge leaps in his next season...

Is the Jackson kid from Toledo the blazing fast and jitterbug quick kid we need at point? Great numbers. Hope Cal is looking at him.

Greg Brown I could see us going after. He is listed as a SF, so that could work out. Bassey likely wouldn't come to share time with Oscar.
Have you seen Bassey play he’ Outside shooting a lot does rebound on the defensive end well

A caller just asked him about it on the show and he avoided it like the plague so probably a little something to it.

He came out firing his first game back, cooled off a lot though. I just don’t think he had a defined role. He was asked to be much more of a scorer than he is.

I'm sure he's good and all, but it still stands he is very unlikely to come here and split minutes with Oscar, Ware, Collins and potentially Jackson. If he is that good, he will go somewhere that he is the man.

Bassey is a beast. The only place I see him transferring to is the NBA. He’s a first round pick. Extremely skilled big man that also rebounds and blocks shots.

Bassey is much better than Oscar.

Graff tweeted out that Kadary Richmond is the best pro-prospect to enter the transfer portal he hinted at. If Bassey/Brown were entering it, they would be ahead if him.

I can see why coaches like Richmond but he is not going to satisfy a lot of people here unless he becomes more of a three point threat.

It would be ideal if our PG was a big time 3 point shooter. But if he isn’t: he needs to get to the rim and finish/create for others.

Hagans would have been a star if he was a consistent finisher at the rim. He was great at getting there. Not so great at finishing.

Brown and Powell only make sense if they're replacing Brooks and Mintz. Bringing in Brown when Toppin and Brooks are already here is redundant and is precisely the thing we've been arguing against the last four months.

Also, add Carr or Jackson at point guard.

Jones fumbling sensitive information out in a tweet is sublime. I'm thinking he was only wearing a shower towel and eating a subway sandwich when he did it. Probably glanced over at himself in the mirror and was saddened by the middle aged gut then in a fit of depression hit send.
I can picture this perfectly.....because it’s probably true

Their per 40 are very similar minus the 3pt shooting and blocks. We have Collins who will be a great shot blocker, and it's not like Cal is going to let either shoot from three much. Oscar was getting those numbers in the big12, so I would say he is pretty on par with Bassey at worst.

He also isn't coming somewhere that he knows he would have to split many minutes with others guys, and Oscar didn't come here to be a backup. Nor did Ware return to play less. Our need right now is PG, we are pretty much set in the frontcourt.

Don't know how I feel about that. Unless Brooks is leaving either way (but to where).. But I wouldn't want to see Brooks forced into transferring just to grab either of these guys. Brooks' experience should really help next year.
that's what was thought this year & he had 1 or 2 good games, the rest of the time he was invisible just like Boston & Clarke

Four out, 1 in. Modern basketball.
Brown on the bench, return Jackson!

I think he was talking about a plausible scenario not fantasy land.
