Why Okie St doesn’t go exclusively to Cunningham every time down the floor makes no sense to me. Ride that horse, he is the best player on the floor.

From The Athletic...

7. Kelvin Joseph, Kentucky (6-foot-1, 192 pounds)
Baton Rouge, La. (Scotlandville); Age: 21.47

A one-year starter at Kentucky, Joseph was the boundary cornerback in head coach Mark Stoops’ zone/man scheme. After fizzling out after one season at LSU, he put together a productive nine games in Lexington in 2020 (four interceptions) before his effort level fell off and the coaches directed him to opt out (Stoops: “I can’t just have him out there standing around…”).

A big-time athlete, Joseph has the rare ability to shadow routes without losing balance. He displays twitchy feet, fluid movements and high-end ball skills to consistently make plays. However, the sample size is a concern and his undisciplined eyes lead to completions for the offense. Overall, Joseph won’t be a fit for every organization due to his immaturity, but he has first-round physical talent and the athleticism to blanket any type of receiver, which is why a team will likely roll the dice on him in the top 50 picks.

All-22 Takeaway: Joseph’s immaturity is a concern for teams both off the field and on the field. Lined up at the top of the screen vs. Auburn, the receiver clearly jumps early, prompting the official to throw the flag for the false start. This should be an easy 5 yards for the defense, but Joseph inexplicably decides to shove the receiver, drawing one of several personal foul penalties from his 2020 tape. The talent is enticing, but the lack of discipline is head-scratching.

-A young dude falling for a piece of ***. I'm shocked.

-Ended up watching way more BB than I figured. Not sure if it's covid, UK not being in it, but the whole thing feels odd. Not fake but kinda fake. Like I'm watching the NIT or something. Oh well. Baylor and the Zags should be a fun one.

-So I've never been skeptical of the vax but I've got a little more concern now. Got the 2nd poke, felt fine, woke up the next day fine, then got really tired and irritable, then even more tired, figured the really bad symptoms were coming, bombed 2 tonins and 2 tylenol PMs, woke up Sunday feeling like a million bucks. Like best I've felt in a few years. Even knocked out a lingering bronchitis thing I had going on 5 weeks. Not sure what that microchip has on it but it's something f*cked up.

-If these fools don't get my band of bombers a legitimate TBall field to practice on I'm going to come unglued. We're chasing history here folks, and they have us using temporary bases in the outfield, because we can't get the city to work on the infield. Who's running things over there, Rachel Phelps? Cricket, you got any connections in Parks and Rec?

-You get 1, normally accessible, always on the shelf bourbon for the rest of your life... what's your choice? OF 1920 for me.

-Make or break time for Cal. Sounds like it's not even close to certain we get Brooks, Toppin and/or Mintz back. We lose 2 of those and he can GGP. I get that he's going scour the transfer market rather than pick up 2nd tier backup plan recruits but you still need continuity.

-If the forecast holds, props to Bill Meck for delivering one hell of a March just when we needed it. He's a real hero.

-I bet old FHOFHC Mark Stoops is just out slaying this spring and summer.

Is there really scuttle about Toppin? Dude came here expecting not to play AT ALL in Year 1, and ended up being a part-time starter & finisher. That would send me into full rage.

Kinda assumed Mintz was likely gone & capitalizing on his hot finish, and Brooks was 50/50'ish.

-Baylor is so damn good & fun to watch -- they can definitely beat Gonzaga on a given night, but I don't see anyone else who can. For as down as CBB is overall, those 2 are as good as any recent Top 2 teams imo - would (will) be an absolutely awesome Title Game.

Monday's randoms...

- Buddy of mine decided last minute to fly down and watch games all weekend with me. Gotta give the wife credit who told me to "just go" and she took sole responsibility of the kid.
- Didn't hit it crazy hard but still struggling this morning. My A game now would be a C game just a few years ago.
- Had Illinois winning it all. Watched the entire game and at no point did I think they were the better team in that game.
- Dr telling us baby #2 is going to be a big baby and will come early so we are adjusting our schedule up 2 weeks to make sure we have coverage down here for baby #1 when we go in. Luckily, both of our parents are cool and are helping out in a BIG way.
- I was a 10lb baby so my wife is TERRIFIED of that. #1 was a C-section so weight did not play a factor.
- 66 here yday and windy. Locals wearing hoodies. Vacationers wearing t-shirts.
- Beau Allen has to be QB1 this year, right? If we hit on QB, what's the expectation on wins this year, 9?
- How in the f*ck has Barbee and Justus not been relieved of their duties yet?
- If Toppin, Brooks, and Mintz all depart, what is the expectation on wins next year, 9?
- First real flight next week for our 20 mo old as we are flying to wife's mom in CT. I am dreading it b/c she can't sit still for 30 seconds, much less a 2 hr flight. I did NOT want to go but kept silent b/c they celebrate Easter big time. I finally said something this morning and wife drops a "well its too late now to not go now but I wish you had spoken up a couple weeks ago b/c I really don't want to go either".

Parks and Rec is their own bubble. I've got a parks and rec degree and have gotten 3 promotions in my unrelated division before even getting a single interview with parks.

That's some high brow ****. 🤣

So, do you have a contact that can get my bombers a field that doesn't resemble the Everglades?

When we played at Western at Cardinal Run the league had to take care of all field maintenance. We split the concession revenue with the City. I was Field Manager for 3 years a thankless position. No telling how many hours I spent getting fields ready after rains. We had practice fields in the hood where guns were shot nearby and needs would be found in the dugouts. But that is all we had for practice fields so you compromised.

It's going to suck but it's only a couple hours. Take distractions, tablets, toys, sell out, and at almost 2 you could consider a baby melatonin if you're really concerned, although you should consult your ped, that will tell you not to do that.

The reply all is not nearly as bad as the (and I'm paraphrasing) "in light of the events in Atlanta, we want to let you know that we are against murdering people, hate and racism and we're here for you and our Asian-American colleagues as well whether they be legit or underground sex workers" emails that came through this week. I got one from about 15 "leaders" in my organization plus JCPS of course. Gee thanks guys, glad we're all on the same page that murder and racism are bad.

If Gran were still around, Gatewood would be QB1. With Coen, it'll be Allen or Levis. Doubling down on my early Gatewood=bust take.

Spring reports on Bully McCall have me excited though. Lots of positive chatter around the secondary as well.

Defensive continuity + solid QB play, + Rodriguez/Smoke/McClain + Wandale/Ali = 10 wins. Schedule is set up nicely.

Worst brackets I've ever filled out. Near the bottom of both bracket challenge groups I'm in. Already lost half of my final 4 and most of my elite 8 in one of em. Makes sense though, as the Cats' suckiness has turned me off to the whole sport. I'm definitely not a CBB in '20-21. Fun tournament though.

Seeing the words "government center" makes me think of the Modern Lovers. Great song and band.

- Richie just nails middle-aged hen every time. All caps Richie posts are second only to "not stressed or angry" nostalgic Richie posts.

- I was a big baby sore loser and didn't fill out a single bracket this year, but I have absolutely loved this tournament. I was prepared to not watch a minute...and I can't tear myself away. The biggest upside to a year where every team sucked is the pure and unadulterated mayhem in the tournament. College basketball might be down, Marc Emmert is a tool, and the block/charge call is an abortion...but NOTHING beats the first weekend.

- Sister Jean's prayer pre-Illinois. 🤣 What a treasure. Old ladies who love sports are already awesome, but add in being a thousand year old nun and the team's unofficial mascot? Shew. Love Sister Jean.

- I've been on a tear with training lately and decided it was time to get serious about nutrition too. I got my first block and my girl has me eating more steak than docboat. Thank the Lord for grilling season. Let's get yoked.

- My best friend's husband and I have been scheming the entire last month to have me and my boo come down for the weekend to surprise her for her birthday. I haven't seen her in forever, and because of stupid covid haven't gotten to meet her baby yet. If we pull this off I'm going to be over the moon. Hell, I'm psyched even if she has figured out what's up because her husband is so pumped to surprise her.

- I may need to figure out a similar surprise for my mom here in the next little bit. She had a melanoma taken off a couple weeks ago and even though the docs think they got it all, she's super down. There's only so much I can do via text.

- I have been singing "Scoop, there it is!" for a week and a half straight and I don't hate it.

- Happy Monday, GYERO. It's a beautiful day in the Commonwealth. Let's get after it.
