Just another in the line of players who were gone no matter how dreadful their performance was.

Goodwin
Skal
Briscoe
Vanderbilt
Ej
Boston
Clarke

And others.

Goodwin and Briscoe both don't belong on that list.

Briscoe's game was never going to translate to the NBA.

Goodwin actually was able to drive and score quite well. They both were good college players.

College players who still left too early.

Neither could shoot but would be asked to shoot in the nba. My point is regardless of performance or skill they were gone no matter what happened that year.

Normally these departures would linger on another month, at least they are getting gone early enough to pick up a couple good transfers!

I am like most of you not surprised that Boston and Clarke both leaving. I hope we never get players like this again. Cal should have sit both down and told them they are not ready for the NBA. Heck most fans on here realize that. Jackson is the only one that is ready now.

Some may not like it but I hope Boston and Clarke both fall out of the 1st round. This is got to stop at UK. Cal created this mess and it is all on him. I just wish he was going with them.

this is not surprising news

what is surprising is the false hope that Cal tried to create with the fanbase on Boston returning.

Its a bad move that just generates anger among the fanbase

Cal started this, he needs to own it. Seems like he is trying to distance himself from giving a kid minutes while trashing the UK season so the kid could go pro. Boston wants to get better and come back. Just stop bs'ing us Cal, please - you'd lie about the sun coming up tomorrow at this point.

Normally Cal would be going on the TV circuit , talking up to the world how great he is at getting kids in the NBA.

I guess he isn't feeling it this year, eh?

At this point I don't think it matters what Cal tells them. They come here for 1 reason, to leave after 1 year.
This is a complete clown show - we just had the worst season in UK history and at least 3 players, plus a senior who could come back, all believe they are ready for the next level. And that's just the ones we know about, plus a transfer who decided this program was garbage about 2 weeks after he got here.

That has to be unprecedented in college basketball. Coaches have teams mutiny on them and lose less players than this.

Prayers up for the not terribly bright person who runs UKBB Twitter.

Exactly. Personally I am sick of the La familia crap. Boston and Clarke could not give two craps about UK. I hope that neither of them get drafted. Might make future players understand that coming back is not a walk of shame.

Just get the NBA to make the G league viable already. Get these guys out of college basketball. They are killing the sport. And no one can blame them for wanting to go do what they do, but with all due respect I don't care about that. I care about Kentucky. I honestly cared more about Billy Gillispie's circus than I did about this clown show.

Cals doing what he's got to do, but at some point there has to be a way to put enough pressure on the NBA to do whats right and give these guys an outlet to be semipros in a minor league out of high school.

MLB and NHL absolutely have it right with their minor leagues and rules on eligibility, agents, etc with the NCAA. College has GOT to get back to being about playing for the college. You and your team succeeding will lead to individual success.

Create a real minor league. Everyone wins.
People said Fox mis-spoke about Cal. Some on here tried to spin it. Truth is, Cal cares about getting them to the NBA period. UK winning titles in about 5th or 6th.
Cal has turned into a joke. Letting players bring documenatry crews. He's let the culture he created take over.

Yawn...... not gonna hate on the kid but he’s barely good enough for the G-league, let alone the NBA. I don’t watch the NBA anyway so I won’t waste time and energy keeping tabs on him, Clarke, etc.
