1. So Cal was doing his typical blowing bullcrap to the fans when talking about Boston might be like PJ, Quickley and say "I'm not ready and need to come back to be the best"....either that or he has zero feel for what is really going on in guys heads.
2. And don't you get how KSR crew hints around in hopes that Cal will bring dudes back like Boston...or maybe just more Cal slurping typical for Matt Jones and crew.

In the end, all that is left is for Brooks to make his decision to move on and we'll back to where many have predicted all along with Boston, Clarke leaving no matter how crappy they are.....Jackson as the lone legit NBA dude on team (but with flaws) and Brooks is too cool to stay 3-4 years.

So Cal's final show about needing to build around more multi year guys, "this is a man's game", "'This is Kentucky. This is a standard.' And there are a lot of happy people out there that we had this kind of year. And you know what? Enjoy your time now, next year is going to come soon enough.", need more skill and not as much athleticism, etc....

It's all talk, dudes are leaving like they always have, he's recruiting the same "step below elite...but talented 5 stars" that have no plan to play at UK beyond 1 year and the transfer merry-go-round is still on full display at Ky.

This was a foregone conclusion long ago. Whether he should or shouldn’t to us is irrelevant anyone not crazy knew this was coming with BJ, Clarke & IJ.
But we knew it was coming, and not because it's sensible, but because nothing at UK is sensible anymore. We're the only program in the country where we can predict that we'll lose guys every year who aren't ready. Now they're leaving us for the G-League.

Think about that. We're a laughing stock and Cal has completely whored out the program.

So much for getting guys to stick around for multiple years Clarke yesterday and Boston today those are the guys that we need to stick around for multiple years! I like that Ware, Askew, and Allen are coming back but that should've been expected anyway. It's the animal that the car salesman has created and he can't stop no matter how much he says it's going to change! Yes don't let me forget Fletcher and Sarr is gone so we now have 4 gone for sure so far off of a 9-16 team wow just wow!
He’s starting that next year * wink wink*

Bad look for KY CAL when Clarke sits out most of the season goes pro anyway then Boston who underperforms goes too. It’s the culture CAL has built here. If you stay more then 1 your a failure.
He has nothing else to sell them but NBA immediacy, and they drink his Kool-Aid down. He's got the tiger by the tail. No more innovation. No more originality.

He's just a freakish caricature now. No one takes him serious anymore except for some of our cuckish fans and a few top 10-25 delusional recruits.

I tried to be cautiously optimist and hold out hope too a couple would return but this seals it for good. After this, seeing the like of Ortons, Gabriels and Skal's leave early I can't believe I still let myself get hoodwinked. No more!

At least Orton and Skal went 1st round. Boston and Clarke are declaring hoping that they’re able to sneak into the 2nd round.

So Boston scores 0 points against Miss St and he thinks he's ready for the NBA. What a joke, never wish bad things on these guys that leave early, but what a joke. Cal should stop recruiting these 5* guys. He says he's going to change, only if he makes changes in his staff which ain't going to happen. He won't play zone, they have the same under the basket out of bounds play for 10 years. He's made his money. It's definitely a players first team not a KY Wildcat TEAM. Let's just change some 5* lives. Bunch of BS.

Well according to Cal this won't happen again. Let's hope he is true to his word. I really don't think the guy likes losing. Hopefully things will improve. Don't know if they can get any worse? If they do, then it is time for a change.
He also said it wouldn’t happen again after 2013, yet here we are. And this was way worse. He is not changing. The guy is basically a used car salesman. He tells you what you want to hear.

Imagine the beating Kobe would have given a guy like BJ Boston in practice if he got drafted as a rookie to play on his team. Dude would need to live in a safe space.

Boston, Clarke, Jackson, Fletcher, most likely Sarr and Mintz. Brooks wouldn't surprise me either. Gonna need at least 3 more players. My hopes for a good team next season are fading quickly.
Amazing how so many were quick to jump back on after 'SWAGGY CAL' ******** mantra after his last radio show that still bite for the horseshit that comes out of his mouth like having more 3-4 year guys. Need more Derek Willis.

Now we are starting to sound like Bengals and Reds fans no offense.. That's how those fans think on when they will be good always the next year. Now Cal is going to have some fans thinking that way with UK basketball it's always going to be the next year that he's changing! Like I said in another thread the used car salesman doesn't fool me though because I know the truth he isn't changing crap!

Point is they are no more ready than the rest of them. Just leaning on the Kentucky effect and Cal's connections in the league to get a spot on a team. Let them play at Rutgers or Austin Peay they'd still be in college.

I am not gonna get into a debate with you on this bc I do agree with much of what you said. However, I do think several of the top recruiting programs deal with similar issues albeit to maybe a lesser degree.

Cal has to change his system no question. I’m hoping this debacle of a season has shown him that more than anything us fans could ever express. I get it you don’t think he will change. Maybe not. I think he has to and will. It may take a season or two to complete the transformation bc it is so ingrained. Guess we will see.

Kept telling myself how the 2013-14 can get to the title game and bring back as many as they did we'd be fine if some guys returned this year having had a feel of the college game going in with at least Sophomores that had experience, maybe a couple more recruits and the right fit of grad transfers could give UK something special next season. How naïve of me lol

And we have our worst recruiting class in the Cal era coming in.

Dark times ahead in Lexington.

Very much so. But what is going to happen is this...

We MAY go something like 17-13. Maybe... and Calipari defense squad members will be like “we improved!” And we will lose 5-9 players again and bring back a couple rando dudes who averaged like 3-7ppg.

They will never ever see the light or realize how broken his model is because they defend him for other reasons...

Just get the NBA to make the G league viable already. Get these guys out of college basketball. They are killing the sport. And no one can blame them for wanting to go do what they do, but with all due respect I don't care about that. I care about Kentucky. I honestly cared more about Billy Gillispie's circus than I did about this clown show.

Cals doing what he's got to do, but at some point there has to be a way to put enough pressure on the NBA to do whats right and give these guys an outlet to be semipros in a minor league out of high school.

MLB and NHL absolutely have it right with their minor leagues and rules on eligibility, agents, etc with the NCAA. College has GOT to get back to being about playing for the college. You and your team succeeding will lead to individual success.

Create a real minor league. Everyone wins.

you want the cancer back?

Nobody hates the 1 & done, perpetual roster turnover more than me. But, this is one kid I won’t miss. He’s not the type of player who would make a team better whether he’s here 4 months or 4 years bc he’s selfish & has no feel for the game. The phrase is overused & misused constantly but this is a textbook case of improving with addition by subtraction. But, his declaring is still a freaking joke & a perfect microcosm of the Cal era. He did nothing well this season & would get pushed around in the WNBA. Regardless, he’s somebody else’s problem now & will not be remembered fondly here.

0 zero points against Miss St, he is absolutely ready for the NBA. Probably already on All Rookie team. Guess Cal gets to go to Green Room. Player First University certainly Not a KY Wildcat Team first university. Can't make a layup in traffic, bunch of BS. I need to find another team to follow.
