Wait, I heard right here on this board that there was no way he was coming back, he already had his bags packed according to some.
I never bought that line but I do wonder and presume that having another big outting in his last game ended any notion of transferring for him.

Edit: I mean if you grew up a UK fan it's gotta be the best feeling possible to go out there and score like he did both games against Ms St.

Yep no one was coming back. The ones that could go to the NBA are going and the ones that can't are transferring lol.

Like we never have people come back for 2nd years lol

It's certainly possible. I mean we don't know what these kids are thinking.

But I think the fanbase made a lot of assumptions. Same with Askew. People thought he was transferring as well.

It's more likely they never had any plans of going anywhere IMO.

I'm glad Askew is returning but he sure doesn't need to start next season.

I agree. If he starts we are in serious trouble IMO.

I saw enough of Askew at the end of games to show me that currently he can't handle it. Now that might change. He might get better. He probably will. But we need to be way better at PG next season. It looks like there's some positive news about Mintz returning so that will definitely help.

They will vote how their football coaches tell them to vote...and I suspect we aren’t going to like the result.
It being ok hurts us some in football. What if bama needed a back this season and stoke C-Rod from us. I would be pushed

I'm glad he's coming back, but it will be hard for him to get minutes under Cal. Score 23 in the last game and Cal mentions a missed screen from him. He's obviously only focusing on wanting to see Allen fail and give him a reason to keep him benched. Hard to play if you are one of the kids with a super short leash..

Cal needs to stop being hot and cold with him. Play him 15-20 a game and let him shoot away without consequences!

He should have a longer leash next year. Allen is still figuring the game outand he is coming off two major injuries. He played good considering that...excited to see what he can do next year.

This is good news for UK and him. Get a full off season to work on strengthening the injured knee and his game weaknesses. Could make a big jump next year for us. He will be more confident in every way which is a huge factor in major sports at a high level. Everybody has ability. Not everybody has confidence.

Great news!

Now we need an elite PG or Combo that can get to the rim and we will be in pretty good shape.

Hardy would be ideal. Wish we could get him.

This is great news. But it’s really sad that we now have to wait for every damn player to announce whether or not they’re coming back. We wait on pins and needles to see if a woefully unprepared player is going to go pro or if a second tier player is going to transfer because he’s not getting a fair shake.

The program is so completely broken.
Who is waiting on pins and needles? What players do is out of our control. I am glad Allen is coming back. He should really help next year but I will not be worrying about something over which I have no control. What is broken is posts like yours.

Having him and Powell on the floor at the same time should definitely help fix our shooting woes. And if Mintz decides to return? Oh boy! Suddenly we got a group of assassins to put on the floor. And we might yet add even another shooter to that group.

Competitive players would be burning to get back on the court after a rough year. He and Askew could be a solid pair of rotation players that add a lot. Hope this is a trend. Flush 2020. Duke unfortunately and UK just book it will be back with a vengeance. Jackson goes high in the draft. Toss a single season record where it belongs, Cal gets players into the pros. Also Lexington is a great place.

I want Clarke, Toppin, and Ware back. I really think that’s who we need back with what we have coming in. Powell would be great and Allen and Askew already have spoke. Brooks Is a meh return for me personally. I don’t think we’d miss him with all the other pieces.

He said last week that he was returning and going to work on his game this summer. We need players like this to stay at least 3 -4 years.

That is excellent news, hopefully he's just the next in a long line of returnees. I'm hoping we get the same news from Keion Brooks and many more. They should all return, in my opinion. Yes, even BJ Boston.

Jackson should leave. Aside from that they could all benefit from another year.

Good news. I thought he might bolt for another school. It's rare to say welcome back to a UKBB player.
