Say what you about Cal, though the one thing we can all agree on, he has a sizeable ego, this season is going to eat at him all summer long. I expect him to turn the dial-up tremendously in the off-season, he's already brought in the beast we needed, a solid recruiting class, though I expect him to sign at least three more players. He's going to have his team ready next year. Maybe this season was an omen to a degree, it's likely to re-energize Cal. I expect at least one assistant coach to be replaced as well, there's going to be a reckoning of sorts...

This team never turned a corner. And that's on him. However I doubt a team could be as bad as this one.

I'll defend Cal on one thing. Boston and Clarke didn't even come close to living up to the hype. And to miss on two hyped 5 stars that badly is definitely bad luck.

Those guys were sought after by many other schools. If one of those kids pans out it's a different season. Still Cal better learn alot from this season or he's gone. BBN won't put up with a season like this again. Nor should we.

isn't scouting talent & ability the job of the coaching staff?
there is no offensive chemistry, NO ONE can guard a fence post
NO ONE has the basic basketball fundamentals

all of that falls on the coaches & they failed just as bad as the palyers

Well I was impressed with Boston too. Alot us were from the mixtapes and games. I really don't know what the hell happened. Kept waiting for him to get into a flow. Just never happened.

He can't finish can't shoot. Dude came to Kentucky and just wasn't that guy. And Clarke? Who knows.

I don't care what he does as long as he is not in Lexington next year. There is no excuse for this season. It is completely unacceptable.

I just want him to leave. I can't stand another one of his speeches.

Can you imagine the boos during his speech at Big Blue Madness next year if we’re back to full capacity. He might skip it lol

Cal has not learned to avoid stall ball with a slim lead, to play against zone, how important shooters are, to recruit basketball players and shooters over athletes, to have his team practice free throws.
Cal didn’t learn anything from the 2015 Wisconsin loss and didn’t change his approach.

I believe it’s safe to say Cal learned nothing from this season and will not make adjustments going forward.

Should Cal learn something from this year? Will he? Remains to be seen.

I expect another freshmen-driven team that will take many games to figure out how to play, a lack of outside shooting, guards who have trouble staying in front of their man, bizarre rotations, Cal screaming on the sideline, etc.

So, no, I don't expect much or any change due to Cal learning anything.

Cal's young, hungry and not set in his ways. He's still learning.

I think if Mitch would just give him a raise and a contract extension, Cal would come back fired-up and eager to re-create the greatest night in UK basketball history!

"And then I told those morons: didn't you ask for number 9? Well here it is, right in the W column!"

It appears Boston went to LALA land and fell in love with himself. Playing basketball was obviously not a focus of this future movie star.

Too many problems. Which one is he supposed to learn from? He will pick and choose what to learn from not do the right things rather the things he is comfortable with.

Unless there are major changes to Calipari's staff in the off season then you can fully expect next years team to have many of the same problems this one has.
I have ZERO confidence in the current staff's ability to evaluate talent and assemble a team based on needs and weaknesses. The last dominant UK team was in 2015 and since then it has been a battle to assemble a quality team capable of challenging for a Final Four let alone a Championship.
So many drama queens, busts, transfers, discipline issues, etc. We just aren't getting quality guys who can also play the game. That's on Calipari and the staff. It isn't surprising that since Antigua and now Payne have left the program, our troubles have gotten worse.

And unless Calipari is ready to install a different system we will continue to have problems scoring and causing difficulty for defenses. All this year this team was just too easy to guard. Stagnant offense with too few weapons is a formula for disaster.

This is what you get when you have a bunch of 3 or 4 year players on your team that some of you were clamoring for. This is how they typically play their first year. Can't have it both ways. Cal loads up on 5 stars and people complain. Cal loads up on multi-year players and people still complain. People expect 5 star results with multi-year players in thw first year.

Is Brooks better or worse this year?...We are young and inexperienced..and no PG...Cal is one of only a few that can have a season like this then have the #1 team next year..see 2009 NIT---2010 #1 in the country.....He needs Brooks, Allen, Askew, Ware, Boston, Toppin all back and go get a top PG transfer and we're good....TyTy Washington is one i hope Cal get also...
Transfer PG/Hickman
Boston/Askew
Allen/Brooks
Collins/Toppin
Oscar/Ware
