Who would you all like to see if we add a couple games the week before the SEC Tournament.

I think it would be cool to play Bellarmine in Freedom Hall.

I'm not going to start a new thread but can we actually win out and make the NCAA tournament or are we SEC Tourney Champs or bust at this point.

I'm only asking this because I feel like the TN win gave us a 10% chance at it.

Yes we can but only if Cal can get us a total of 5 regular season games and at this point its just UF and at Ole Miss.

UK is trying to get Detroit for mid week game and then week after next play 3 games in 5 days adding South Carolina and Texas AM.

The prob is South Carolina has missed so many games Cal is unsure if UK will be one of there make ups. I think it will be dictated on which make up games effect seeding in the SECT the most.

Also, AM has missed 6 straight games due to Covid and 7 over all. It wouldn't surprise me if they shut er down.

Could Cal schedule a few more non conference games to make up for those two? Who knows but its going to get very interesting. I could see UK playing a few other SEC teams that need makes ups-potentially.

Also, if we some how get 5 more games and won them all we would go into the SECT at 13-13 and IMO would need to win the first 2 games of the SECT and finish at least 15-14 with a very solid SOS and MB as Committee Chair and we dance.

Thus, we would have to stretch this 3 game streak out to 10 to dance-without winning the SECT.

And if it comes down to 15-14 and a bubble team that finished the season 10-1 Barnhart is going to take heat either way-if he lets UK in the nation will be in an uproar but if he doesnt let UK in the entire state of Ky will be pissed.

He lives in Ky.

What do you think?

What do you think?

First of all, I would be downright impressed and a bit shocked if we scheduled 3 extra games. I’m also not sure if that is even possible within NCAA rules, do you?

Second, Mitch will never use his position on the committee to campaign for UK. He’s not supposed to be in the room by the rules, and despite him supposedly being this great AD I’ve never heard of him swinging his weight/influence around for anything that didn’t involve overspending booster/SEC football dividends.

Whatever would help us get better, or possibly get us in the tournament without winning the SECT (if thats even possible)..

Personally, id love to play the bottom feeders of the SEC.. still somewhat quality teams, and the chance for wins helps us move into a possible double-bye.

I agree with this all the way up to the fact that Mitch could be in literally a once in a lifetime moment where all the 5 stars align and he has the clout to make it happen for his Alma Mater and where it would be a razor thin decision either way.

I believe he picks Kentucky in that ultra rare scenario with him as the Chair.
